Wales (United Kingdom)
France vs Wales (13:00 GMT, Stade de France, Paris, France)

The French will look to end a stop start Six Nations campaign with a sweeping victory against the Welsh. The Welsh themselves, will be hoping to spring a shock in order to avoid the dreaded 'wooden spoon'.
I said last week that I expect a big performance from Wales, and we got that against Ireland last weekend. I am expecting another one tomorrow.
Team news inspires optimism. Iestyn Harris plays where he should always play at inside centre, and playing outside Stephen Jones, and inside Mark Taylor will help him enormously. Craig Morgan has pace to burn on the wing, and we all know about Rhys Williams at full back. I would even go as far to say that Wales may have too much pace for the French back line. It is just a case of whether they can exploit that pace. The Welsh forwards will have to secure clean lineout possession, hit the French back yards at ruck and maul, and outscrummage the French. I really believe that this is a good Welsh team. They have been let down only by the lack of passion, which is unacceptable at this level.
France are without doubt the classier team, but they are 15 men against 15 men. If you can upset the French and mess them about, then they have the tendency to pack it in, as Italy showed last week, by outplaying France for twenty storming minutes. Ok, the French had the game won, but they did look beatable during that phase.
I have backed Wales on the handicap twice already this term. On the two occasions I have not backed them, they have stayed inside the handicap with ease. Nearly thirty points to concede to Wales is a lot of points, and enough to warrant a handicap bet. If you even had a spare bit of cash, I would even play Wales on the outright, at a huge price.

1 Point Wales (+28) at 10/11 with PaddyPower

Just something I want to get off my chest......

I have been working for a pay service here in the UK since November last year. If Ireland win on Sunday, I would have secured that site nearly thirty points profit. These are the same picks I publish here on Madjacks. I refuse not to post on this site, as I have taken so much good info off other people, and besides, have developed some good friends.

I have been promised payment for my picks for months, and last week I was e-mailed and told I would not be getting paid. I have been screwed.....you may say that I am putting these rugby picks out for free to you guys, but that is not the way I see it. The principle of the site, is that we all help each other out, no matter what the sport. I know rugby is way down the list of this sites most popular sport, but I believe the 'Off The Wall' thread has secured a good following, and is one of the best threads on the site.

I have also discovered that the same site, is also poaching picks from this site without permission of the people who are posting. Stanley and his hugely successful golf bets, is a main victim, including others. It pisses me off that a site should steal somebody elses work, and then charge people to view it. Had they prior permission, then so be it. But this is not the case.

There are two options available. We could either stop posting all together, and then that site would not be able to steal the work, or continue posting. I have chosen the latter.

I will name and shame the site. They are www.svsports.co.uk

Just wanted to get this rant off my chest!! :(

Meanwhile, I will be back tomorrow night with a possible three point bet on Sundays penultimate game of the Six Nations. I have only ever advised one three point bet before, and this cleared the spread by nearly thirty points. This will not happen on Sunday, but I am confident we are on to a winner.

Good Luck :)

crooky, that sucks. Thx for posting. Scum like that should be exposed. If you try it again, get paid up front, otherwise tell em "No Deal." Sad but true, it's not worth trusting fellow human beings.

Sadly as Crooky has pointed out before UK (+ Irish) books have a tie price usually 16/1 - so unfortunately there is no 'push' - it happens rarely but it's bloody annoying when it does

even worse France kicked a penalty to take it to +28 when most teams would've gone for a try !

hoss

PS I've never heard of that bunch of cheats svsports + I know EVERYONE ;) - their ?5 subscription rate tells you all you need to know - hardly big players!
:thefinger

pps Crooky - if you know some names I can check them out ;)

ppps if it makes it any better I managed to hit the tie in the Wakefield Castleford match in-running

I forgot about that dam Tie thing.......28 points and you lose

man that sucks.........I would never bet a handicap where a push ties.......talk about a rip off

well I guess the 28.5 at SIA was huge now wasn't it.....:D

hopefully you Brits will open an account at books where the tie is a push not a loss.......what a crock of sh**

France 33-5 Wales

As a few have already pointed out, unless you bet with a non-European firm, then the bet is a loser. For some strange reason, I did not post this bet at Sport Interactions line of +28.5, where the bet would then have been a winner.

I am slightly pissed off with France going for the three points, rather than kicking for touch. However, I lost simple as that. Had I been on France (-28), I would have been even more angry, as the French dominated every aspect of the game. I was counting my money after 30 minutes, where Wales were still in touch with the game, but as so often, they fail to secure possession at line out, and if you got no ball, then you cannot score any points.

Ok, lets put that one behind us.....tomorrows is the biggest Six Nations game in a long while, and I have a bet lined up. Will post it later tonight, so check back. :)

Would like to say thank you for all the kind words with regards to Sportsvision. It sums up what this site is all about.

I can take not getting paid for the rugby bets, but to take somebody elses work, without their permission is a step too far. Stanley has quite rightly decided to ignore the issue, and will continue posting.

Hoss, I will e-mail you some details. You are quite right...the site is poorly run, and hardly big players as you already pointed out. I already pointed out to them several times, that they are running a poor service, and it does not warrant anybody paying them. I know for a fact, that they will be reading these posts, but I am sure you would all be hacked off, if you started to see your hard work being reproduced on a pay site, of which you have no control.

Lets put the issue behind us, and do what we do best....making each other some cash!!

Kyle, nice to talk to you again tonight. Look forward to metting you, perhaps in the not too distant future. :p

Hoss,

Had a nice touch on Halifax (+16) last night, when every man and his dog seemed to be on Leeds. Stakes to a minimum, as ever for me with Super League. However, backed Castleford (-12) tonight, which was a big loser.

PS Off to watch some college hoops on NASN....a little birdy pecked on my window and told me to back Marquette (+7). Will post rugby after the basketball.

PPS Hoss, I am about to e-mail you with something you will definitely be interested in. ;)

Marquette cover by a massive 21 points  ...wish that same little birdie had told me not to back Wales today!! :D

As readers of my rugby threads will now, I tipped up Ireland at 20/1 to win the Grand Slam, and to win the Six Nations outright at 10/1, before this tournament started. They are now just one game away from securing the cash, but face their toughest game tomorrow against England.

I would now be looking to lay off to secure a profit. This game is all about getting in the black.....however at 2/5 England hardly represent a ideal opportunity with which to hedge the bet. Instead, I am looking to expolit that line by making further plays on Ireland. One of two things can happen tomorrow.....Ireland can either win and secure a massive profit, or lose and it will be a case of so near so far. Should they lose, then it will mean a unprofitable Six Nations, but the rugby plays will still be well in the black.

Ireland vs England (14:00 GMT, Lawnsdowne Road, Dublin, Ireland)

Easily the southern hemispheres international match of the decade so far. Two teams undefeated in their Grand Slam quest meet in the final Six Nations match to determine who wins the glory. Ireland face a first Grand Slam since 1948, while the English (the ultimate Grand Slam chokers) will be chasing a grand slam for the umpteenth time in recent seasons.
Both sides at full strength, and England play under the leadership of Martin Johnson at lock. Brian O'Driscoll captains the Irish in the continued absence of regular skipper Kieth Wood.
I am very surprised at the start given to the Irish by layers this weekend. England will face a difficult enough task as it is, without having to concede eight points on the road in Dublin, where the Irish have not lost for a long time. The noise generated by the Irish will be deafening. Keith Wood spoke of that noise lifting the players by a extra 10% two years ago, but this time the noise will be louder. A grand slam beckons, and Irish rugby is on a crest of a wave.
Backers must always be wary of backing against England with a single figure spread. Johnny Wilkinson rarely misses when he has a pot at goal, but David Humphreys is another goal kicker who is very consistent. The match could be won or lost at ruck and maul, where the refs interpretation will be crucial. If either team give away silly penalties, then they will be punished.
People are eager to talk up the Irish nerves, as they face unkown territory in chasing this elusive title. However, people are quick to forget that the fact that England have blown it repeatedly in recent seasons, and this will be at the back of the English minds for the full 80 minutes.
A true classic is in store tomorrow. This is what Six Nations rugby is all about. I am passing on playing a three point bet, in favour of taking the other point on Ireland winning the match outright. Sporting Odds have lured Irish backers in with their generous odds. Sit back and enjoy.....it should be a thriller!!

2 Points Ireland (+8) at 1/1 with Sporting Odds

1 Point Ireland (ML) at 12/5 with Sporting Odds

Good luck...easily the biggest rugby day, gambling wise, for me in recent seasons!! :)

Well, I followed your initial Ireland pick (only small) but I am really forward to tomorrow. I guess I'll add to my existing play now. I think you meant ML 12/5 instead of 12.5 but I might just take the points.
Thanks Crooky.

Good luck with your ante post plays Gareth - I think 'm just going to sit back + enjoy the game (cheering on England of course :p ).

I'm not sure I'd play the moneyline on the game given the antepost position you collect if they win. I'd probably have backed Ireland (+8) to win enough to cover all antepost plays.
Leaving 3 outcomes - England win by 8+ , England win by 0-8 break even + a trip to Vegas + more if Ireland win:D :D

Still good call from the outset with Ireland

Enjoy the game

hoss:cool:

ps I'm on warrington (+6) and St Helens (-22) in the R.League if you're interested:rolleyes:
