The beauty of this statement is that the NCAA SOS is the only one that actually matters. Whether it is flawed or not in YOUR opinion is not really important.

a discussion about USC where Brando states, "They [USC] don't play anyone in the Top 15, there schedule is too easy."

Interesting I thought, so I flip over to ESPN and EriK Kuselias. He is listing his top 10 of which USC was number 1. But he goes on to say the USC schedule is a joke. "Where is a top notch team on this schedule? They will go undefeated and they will get in because they are USC." He went on to say"..save your east coast bias."

:lol2

These are two national guys both saying the SC schedule is weak within one hour of each other. Please tell me again where the strength of the PAC 10 lies.

Scott, don't kill the messenger. Kuselias is taking calls right now, so call him up and make your case.

But these guys opinions are important? YOU POSTED IT!

I'm looking at the left hand side where it says Sched. Strength & the third line underneath is Projected.

That is the Projection of End of Year SOS based upon the exact formula you posted.

It is not some new fancy method that Rick Tellshow came up with.

It's current estimate has SC at 19 because their last 3 opponents currently have a combined record of 18-3.

I am not arguing whose opinions are important. What I am arguing is that you don't want to use the NCAA SOS because you feel it is flawed. Unfortunately for you, that is tough shit because the NCAA is the ruling body and their opinion is the only one that counts.

I think the US Tax System is flawed and several people have a better system. But, unfortunately for me, the IRS is the only one that counts, so that is the one I will have to use.

Same argument here.

Then what is the purpose of your original post in this thread? What argument is being made there?BCS was not mentioned in the original post. Who brought up the BCS and computer SOS calculations? Had nothing to do with the original post in this thread.

Apparently he did because the following is a quote directly from the link you posted:

I have added a new way to look at schedule strength. This uses the BCS computers to judge a team's SOS. I like looking at the top 6 toughest teams played. But I also display the average computer ranking of teams played to date and all teams on the schedule.

I did find the tabs on the site that you refered to and it seems that he has USC's current SOS listed as #55 and their projected SOS at #19. That's quite a swing.

I also see that he has Texas' current SOS at #9 and their projected SOS at #11. That is also a little hard to swallow.
