I was on Sweden early in the tournament but like the men, they just do not have "it". I see the usa winning by at least 2 and I like the + money odds on such. Lots of the usa women are rested from the final group match which basically was a sleep walk type of game and still knew they wouldn't lose . Anyone who read too much into that result is doing too much.

As IVe said before I dont think this Germany team is "all that" They have been overrated. China is no juggernaut either but I think they defend well and Germany still seems vulnerable in the back

The French are really good and really should make the finals but I have been a big big fan of this Canada team and road them to big payouts vs what I think was an overrated Germany squad. France is not overrated and probably should win and you prob should not follow this play but I am taking the spread

Been working on Bundesliga 2 games last few days. Here is what I am playing:

Nurnberg Un2.5-130
St. Pauli +125
Hannover -130
1860 Munchen +135

Hannover is probably the best of the bunch and will be a play in a lot of games this year. They should be going right back up. Nurnberg is very strong defensively and I doubt Heidenheim will score. I like them to win the game also but I think the under is the better play. I like the value with St. Pauli and 1860 at home as they are both off opening game loses.

Looking forward to opening weekend of the Premier League as well as the Bayern/Dortmund game. Dortmund is going to be a dangerous team this year and should give Bayern a run for their money in league play.

My geography is terrible....how far away are you from Elizabethville?

My sister and her family live up there and I'm gonna make the trek in a few weeks (I'm near Raleigh, NC). They are about an hour or so north of Harrisbug. My mom is from State College area and dad from Dubois....but they both moved down here when they were kids.

Good stuff Bason, look forward to your German insight, Every now and then I will dabble in a few plays in that league. I have Dortmund in a future if you look back a page or two, bet them as the team with best finish without Bayern. Was thinking of 1* on them to w the league but just dont know if thats realistic, but payout is nice.

Thanks buddy, soccer is a great game and lots of value in these Olympic games.. Brazil was due to breakout but just couldnt bet that game.. I think Hope Solo and the whole team last game shouldnt even be considered. THey didnt care about that game, for one the location, two they werent going to lose to Columbia no matter what and a tie wont hem the group. Focus just was not there, and wasting a sub on Rapinoe ( who I LOVE as a player) is all you needed to know. Going forward is a different story, especially against their former coach. Solo is just about the best ever at her position and that was about the only time I saw a bad game like that from her.

Elizabethsville? I am not familiar with that, do you mean Elizabeth Forward? if so thats out first game of the year but its a home game for our labor day tournament. Elizabeth forward is about 40-50 minutes south depending on traffic and such. If youre in the PIttsburgh area, or anyone and want to meet up for a beer im always down if I am free. If you meant Elizabethsville, I have NO idea where thats at.

Its impossible to not bet the USA at halftime. They are far better and dominating play, just have not scored. Getting the USA at -140 with 45 mins to play is an absolutely must bet. Nothing is a guaranteed but this you cant pass this up. This half a goal will come from those runs across the back line as opposed to north and south. The horizontal runs will spring someone eventually

AS i said the Columbia game meant nothing to this team and Hope Solo, although not having to be super busy looks calm and confident back there in her decisions to come out for crosses and be strong on the ball..

TDJ Good stuff. Def let me know. The USA loss was shocking to me , its obvious the better team did not win but as ive said many of times that happens in soccer if you have the right tactics, and I know Hope Solo is sometimes disliked because of her outspokenness and what she said after todays games but I like the way she says whats on her mine, i hate all this PC stuff in sports nowadays, mostly american sports. I understand what she meant in the fact that Sweden were basically scared to play straight up and open play but your job in any sport is to win, and sweden would not have won by doing that. They did what exactly ID of done if i were Pia and ive coached against better teams and have sat back... bottom line is you have to do what you have to do to win ..like Jesscolb said, sometimes you have the right side but just dont have the luck. No one can tell me that Sweden was the right play today.

I really hope Canada can pull this out, I like their team and felt gutted for them (although happy for USA) in the last Olympics. This game will be tight throughout I feel.

I think Brazil has a real shot to win on home soil now that the usa as their nemesis is out. Australia is no slouch but this may be Martas best chance to win gold at a major tournament.

If anything came from this Olympics is that Mallory Pugh is going to be one hell of a player and this will fuel the USA women in France come next WC. They have some tough decisions to make, with Solo and Lloyd, I fully believe that both, even though up in age have one more run in them, Solo maybe easier done then Lloyd being a keeper.
