Dortmund's goalie is absolutely terrible. Both goals should have been saved. I am sick and tired of good teams having sub-par goal tending. He has been horrible in Champions League and now sucking at home. It is pissing me off. Gotze also needs to be on the bench, he is useless.

I do not like doing this as it could lead to a very bad day, but I am taking Dortmund in the second half. I hate chasing favorite bets as it is usually a bad idea, but we have a team that has not lost at home in 41 games that is a goal down. Think I have to try to protect my win bet with this bet. Could get crushed given the juice so don't do it unless you can afford the loss, but I am taking the risk.

Sorry boys, this game was a mess. This is precisely why Dortmund will always be second best in Germany. They can never win the big games they are supposed to win. Every time I place a faith in them they screw me. Was just starting to like this coach, but I did not like the starting lineup he sent out there. I am amazed at how these guys can't manage the league and CL at the same time, especially around the international break. I guess that is why the ones who can get paid. I am definitely taking a break now as I am disgusted by this result.

And Juve lost a home!! So two teams with perhaps the biggest home field advantages in all of soccer lose on the same day. Oh, and CP beat Chelsea. And, PSG won in the 92nd minute and Real won late. This all proves once again, that CL and international breaks weigh heavily on the leagues and have to be taken into account when capping these games.

I like Leicester. They tend to beat the teams they need to beat at home. They lose to the tops teams but I think they have won 6 and drawn 1 against teams at home in bottom half of the standings. I also can't get West Broms 3-1 loss at B&H out of my head.

This is a tough game to call. I like the thinking on Leicester but there is another stat which makes me pause. West brom is 5-2-0 in last 7 at Leicester. I'm thinking a draw is on the cards.

Ehck... that wasn't fun. As PK said, on to the next one.
Let's start the dialogue for Champions league matches tomorrow and Wednesday. Some of these I can't wait for. A few leans for me....

Tues: Monaco, Napoli +1, Tottenham +1.5, Porto-Leipzig ov2.5, Dortmund/Liverpool parlay?
Not too confident about Liverpool, but after two draws in the group, they must recognize the importance of getting 3 points against the bottom feeder of Group E. Same sense of urgency goes for Dortmund with 0 pts in Group F.

Weds: Man U, Atletico-Qarabag un2.5, Barca-Olympiakos un4

Welcoming comments, thoughts and opinions.

Quick thoughts:

I would be careful with Liverpool. Maribor has only lost one of their last 11 home CL games and this includes some decent teams. I think Liverpool is getting way too much respect here given they have only won 2 of their last 9 away games in Europe.

City Over, could be 5 in this game. Not trusting Monaco right now at all, but like the over. I think Real handles Tottenham rather easy and Dortmund should win easy.

Wednesday could be bitch slapping day. See big wins from Juve, Barca, Bayern and PSG. Especially like Juve after their home league loss.

At first look, this is how I would lean.

Liverpool -2
Dortmund -2
Shakhtar over 2.5
Sevilla -155
Real Madrid -280
Man city -210 (big)
Besiktas over 2.5
Porto over 2.5

There are a lot of plays I could make in the Champions League today, but I am going to take a different road and just focus on a couple plays. I simply do not trust some teams that look like obvious plays at home given inconsistent play this year.

Real Madrid -230 - I have to say that I was wrong about the Spurs this year as I expected them to struggle a little more than they have. That being said, I think they will have trouble today. Real is focused on CL and slept walked through their weekend game at Getafe but still pulled out the win. With Spurs grabbing 6 points so far this is an important game for Real to take at home where they rarely lose in CL, especially in the group stages where they have not lost since 2009. Spurs can get away with inconsistent play in the league, but not here and they will miss Alli today. Simply think Real is too much for them. There is a risk of Real giving up a goal or even 2 here, which is why I am laying the lumber in this game versus playing the GL. I only do this a few times a year where I think it is warranted and this game fits the bill for me.

City Ov 3.5 +105 - This is the line I am seeing now. I will not make this bet until later today as I want to see if it drops. Highly unlikely but no real risk on waiting. It is an obvious play today given both teams recent form (City averages 4 a game at home and Napoli 2.4 on the road), but sometimes it is that easy. I see a 3-2 type game here. City does struggle some with Italian teams having won only 1 of their last 8 games, which is why I prefer the over in this game. It should be an all out attacking game.

Real bet will be the larger of the 2 wagers. Have opinions on most others so feel free to ask, but this is what I am playing.

I will be all over Bayern tomorrow at -2.5 and will place the bet immediately after today's games. I do think this line will go to 3 since the total is 4. I am expecting them to destroy Celtic as they are looking revitalized and more like the Bayern of old under Heynckes. Will also be on PSG as they should easily handle Anderlecht.
