I think they called a handball on Firmino after the goalie touched it to call off the last goal. I can not find any other reason not to allow it. It was a really bad game. South American football can just be brutal to watch at time. Brazil really did not do much at all out of play other than the three VAR calls. VAR can work, but they have no idea how to use it. It is used so differently all over the place. You can not micro manage the game which is what most VAR is doing especially in the Womens WC. The irony is that the Men's WC used it well. I was convinced it would be a disaster but they did much better than I thought, but it has only gotten worse from there. They are hurting the game and have to figure out the best way to use it. It would be much easier if they would adjust some antiquated rules, particularly offsides and handballs. Also, I am a firm believer that not all fouls in the box should be a penalty, but will leave that for another day.
