US Soccer is the problem for the men. It is all corporate, about money and the MLS. It will never change in my opinion, ever! They had the perfect opportunity to do so after failing to qualify for the WC, but nothing really has changed at all. Another Corporate President and another coach not qualified that they can control. There is plenty of talent out there, but they have no idea how to put a team together and harness it. They are obsessed with using MLS players and that will always doom them. I stopped supporting them years ago and hated what I have seen from them after the epic qualifying failure which was much worse than most realize.
As far as the women winning big, everyone complaining is an idiot. This is the freaking WC and the only real chance for the women to show off. I love the fact that they pounded Thailand. For me, it is disrespectful to back off. I could go on and on, but I have been ripping the soft media all morning long. If you can not compete, go home!! If you are training for 4 years for an event, you have the right to celebrate. Don't like it, then beat them!
I also have had it with the equal pay crap. If you can generate the same income as the men then you should be paid the same. It is that simple. The truth is that most could care less about the women's game until the WC, so sorry, you do not deserve the same pay. It is like saying WNBA players should be paid like NBA players.

Were in the same exact page with equal pay. I LOVE women?s soccer but equal pay argument doesn?t fly with me because of stated facts above
