For anyone interested, the piaa is being tough on streaming which probably explains why teams are getting less exposure (streaming) from local papers. They want you to spend $10 for a month (you can cancel after the game so only charge for a month.. i use this for September through November to watch games and pay monthly for 3 months). It ends up being the same price as gsme entry which is $10 bucks if you look at it that way. If a free link gets posted anywhere I?ll make sure to post it? looks like the only match being streamed tomorrow by the local paper is a volleyball semi finals[emoji2374]

Weather should not be a factor tomorrow, 39 degrees at kickoff, barely any wind, no snow, no rain.. if we had a regulation size field it would be perfect conditions..

How our state organization (piaa) chooses a non regulation field for a state semifinal match is BEYOND me.. it?s careless, and a slap in the face to soccer. Football would NEVER have a game played regular season let alone state semis on a non regulation field? there?s hundreds of big schools in the region in western pa, they chose the smallest field for the biggest game in the western side of the state ? Travesty

I would use this to your advantage to get the girls pumped for the game. Stress the lack of respect they are giving you despite already proving you are the better team. Might as well turn it into a positive.

Given you will not have the space you had in the last game, I hope you pound the ball into the box and force them to play a deeper line. This can help lengthen the field. You have the better all around team so just need to constantly put the pressure on.

Thanks bason and we actually inquired about having the game moved and we were told that North Hills high school wanted to host something whether it is volleyball field hockey or soccer and they haven?t got the chance to do that yet so the PIAA thought they had to throw them a bone now.. that?s what we were told through the grapevine not through us asking for the game to be moved through our school officials but someone in the know

I really don?t know, with their coach she?s pretty full of herself I really don?t think she can alter her game plan because it would admit she was wrong in the district finals.. which means we would have the middle of the field open again but we?re anticipating them trying to man mark our freshman.. but 17 minah is ranked 150 in the country in her class as a sophomore so they can?t mark both of them ?

If for some reason they change their formation we think they might do with Trinity tried to do and put 4 in the midfield but we honestly think that their coach being so full of herself not shaking our hands after a district final and just being a complete jerk we don?t think she will want to admit she was wrong..

But the girls are prepared for both we did a walk-through and everything and covered all of our bases

Expect negative balls from the end line back through the box towards the PK spot.. I like our outside forwards to be able to make quick decisions before the defense can set up in the box and get numbers back Which should be our midfielders trailing making a run into that spot

I wish you all the best in Hershey on Friday. For some reason I thought (maybe assumed) the game was on Saturday and I was going to make the drive, but I just can not do it on Friday. I will be watching and wish you the best of luck. Your girls are playing with confidence as evidenced by tonight's performance so I think you can win it all!!

Thanks bason.. Game was more direct as I thought it would end up being on a smaller field but I thought our girls handled it well and once we got the second goal defensively staying compact keeping everything in front of us and just having our target forward pressure up top

We?re playing Allentown Central Catholic high finally beat Central Columbia and eighth round of penalty kicks I had film on Central Columbia I have absolutely nothing film wise on Allentown Central Catholic I have the stats I only scored 31 goals all year in the regular season 13 were in one game so obviously they play tight and very defensive.. not sure if you know anything or have any information but just wanted to ask

I definitely was surprised to see that Allentown won that game (and the game before). They scored with 40 seconds left in regulation and then pulled it out. They are on a nice run but they are no powerhouse. This is their first time in the finals and there is nothing special about their conference (they play teams from Allentown, Easton, Wilkes-Barre, etc). They lost or tied to some larger public school teams that are nothing special. My best guess is that they are no better than North Catholic and you have the better overall talent, so I think you will have every opportunity to win this game.

The good thing about this schedule is that you have no real time to think about the game. I am very surprised how the games are grouped so close together. Probably why I assumed this would be played on Saturday. Hopefully you are doing some kind of team event to keep the girls loose. If they have fun and play their game I think you will be STATE CHAMPS!!

From what I?ve read and from what I?ve watched so far is they play very similar to us I like the build up possession play the correct way but they play super low score and tightly contested games in the regular season they scored 31 goals and 13 were in one game.. it looks like they have an all-state central defender.. our trainer who came from central dauphin got us there a field to use tomorrow for practice and their whole facilities.. Tonight?s practice is more going over logistics and everything like that just staying loose tomorrow will practice at central dauphin up by Hershey..

Thanks crazy! Left yesterday morning and had training at central dauphin high school from 1-3 then did a team outing and dinner. Leaving for stadium in an hour. The girls are ready, i really believe we?re the better team but need to prove it on the field.

Words are tough to come by, even after gathering my thoughts it?s still tough to put into words. I am so incredibly proud of our girls and their performance and season but to see them lose in such heartbreaking fashion with a lot not in our control (wind) also was tough but we were 2 mins and 23 seconds from winning the state title and not many teams can say they?ve accomplished what we have and have what we have as a team, community and the athmosphere already in the program. Our girls in absolutely crazy winds in our face the entire second half defended with strength, bravery and will while being under seige the entire time because of the wind.. a championship team with a wpial gold and a Piaa silver is an incredible season even though our girls expected more (which i love the expectations).

With that said, no one can tell me if the wind was not what it was that we are not still the better team but that?s the way the cookie crumbles and still incredibly proud .

I feel truly heartbroken for our seniors, our team and the faces and tears in locker room after the game but as we tell them that shows they care and they wanted more. It?s an excruciating way to lose but someday this will mean the world to these girls experiencing everything we have as a group together [emoji3590]

Go lopes , I truly believe we?ll be back. As I said last year after losing wpial finals, we would be back and this time win it ? i truly believe we?ll be back to piaa finals for redemption. These girls work to hard year
around.

Lastly, the last reply (in screenshot) is absolutely a positive, we?re a homegrown team from a community who builds through a community which makes things so much better when we win[emoji3590]⚽️

*edit it says i cant post anymore pics this month but someone mentioned in a comment on an article how it?s tough to continually beat teams with players from multiple zip codes who can recruit and we played Catholic schools in quarters semis and finals of states and were 2 mins away from state title until we were stunned in 61 seconds by 2 goals *

I want to truly thank everyone that has been supportive, sent well wishes and took time to actually watch games and follow the team.. yinz don?t know me from a hole in the wall and having said that that shows the true character of the people in this soccer forum and it does not go unnoticed. I know I might?ve been a bit over the top with sharing pictures stories of our journey but it?s coming because of how proud I am of our girls and getting them as much recognition as possible. With that said I?ll be back to posting and calling next weekend. Going to take the next 5 days or so to recover. Just went 4 Straight months of practicing and or games every single day and it?s definitely taken a toll
