#1) Have ancestors who were in militias back in the 18th century, the 2nd amendment has nothing to do with a individual being able to purchase a military style weapon.

Second question, does historical context mean anything to you when reading that quote?
Lastly, a simple internet search shows George Washington likely wasn't the author of the quote. Just thought you'd like to know in case you wanted to stop spreading misinformation or gain some general knowledge.

To him and those of his ilk historical context means nothing (unless it's a change that would benefit them), they just need any and all archaic reasons to hang on to their guns as it gives them a sense of self worth and power over something.
They're tough guys who need to drive big pick em up trucks and fly rebel flags and be quick to holler that "they'll take my guns when they pry them from my cold dead hands!!!". First off, deal. Second these would be the same tough guys shitting their pants if guns were outlawed and they were looking at jail time for not surrendering them.
I love it that you genuinely think that George Washington used the words "evil plans". It'd be best if you went back to your OSHA training and focused on keeping yourself safe 'round those big machines.
What about when the citizens don't trust other citizens with guns? If GW knew that citizens would wind up with this level of killing technology and it would cause the deaths of thousands of citizens every year, he probably would have a slightly different take.
