Sorry, Blondie.... this one ain't registering in the 'ol database... Can you offer up any clue, or will that make it too easy?

Anyone else gotta guess on these lyrics??

Blondie - let's put this simply... I LOVE YOU
biggrin.gif

A bucketload of fun ones for today:

1) "Sometimes I wish I could stop u from talking
When I hear the silly things that u say"

2) "Baby baby baby baby oh baby"

3) "She said 'Do these seats fold down?'
And I said "If you pull that handle'"

4) "Walking thru an empty house
Tears in my eyes"

I want you to know that this will go down on your permanent record!
Oh yeah?
Well don't get so distressed.
Did I happen to mention that I'm impressed?

Anders-

The idea that ANYONE can understand an R.E.M. lyric from their early efforts suprises the hell outta me.
I'm thinking our friend YYZ has a computer program that allows him to enter the lyrics-- and---
presto-chango--
the artist and record pops out......

On the course!
Red,

I have no such program, but it is easy enough to find who a lyric belongs to if you try......the internet is an amazing thing.

Still the same, REM is not too tough to tackle for a 37 year old. (and I don't even care for them!) Some songs are "Automatic for some people"
wink.gif

PS.....I'm pretty sure a lot of the answers submitted by others were "found" lyrics, rather than "known".

Never thought about that angle, YYZ. You mean people would actually look for lyrics rather than try and guess them? That seems to defeat the whole purpose of this thread...
wink.gif

Of course, other than Led Zep and a few others, this thread is chock full 'o esoteric bands and lyrics....
One more thing, YYZ-
being 37 and a cheesehead, Anders' signature from a few posts back has got to ring a bell for ya, right? No cheating, though...

On the course!
1, is Elvis Costello's "Alison"

2, Could be a gazillion songs! I will take a shot, based on the stuff you seem to like(?), and say "Love Removal Machine" from The Cult......(I know it's wrong)

I dunno the rest!

yyz - 1) is correct, fantastic friggin song too
cool.gif

2) nope. These are the specific lyrics. Not the Cult, although I lmao at the thought - Ian Astbury was pretty big on those "baby's"...never did like them though, overblown goth rock, blurrghhh
biggrin.gif

Funny thing is , 2) is from one of my fave bands - but they are a helluva long way removed from The Cult

Our love was once a flame, now I'm just a forgotten name,
Am I the only one to blame for having, loving her?

Redsfan: Forgot to answer your Nov 7 lyric!

Slow Turning - John Hiatt (here in the Twin Cities tonight)

how about:

"I was lyin' in a burned out basement
the full moon in my eyes
I was looking for replacement
When the sunburst through the skies!"

BBMF--

Heading to the Hiatt show in Des Moines tomarrow night! Saw him live here in Davenport few years back... The man really knows how to put on a show.
I'm hearing he is fully recovered from the appendix operation he had a few months ago, and as an added bonus, he's got the Goners backing him up.
Gonna be a great show!

redsfann: Hiatt show last night was great. The Goners are a rockin' backup band! I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself!

WHILE MY GUITAR GENTLY WEEPS!
