THE A G A already confirmed that people will watch games more if able to wager safely.
70% agree to legal USA betting

This benefits all sponsors because more eyes will be on the game even if it's a blow out because of late live bets available .

I cant wait i'll love will have a local casino in my fucking back yard really about 8 blocks from house.

I'm going to be broke a lot now :mj07:

Why would anybody think that letting the sports leagues have any sort of cut from gambling proceeds would be a good idea ? After every game there are all kinds of people saying the games are fixed. Do we want to see coaches and players involved now in how their teams do against the spread as well as winning and losing?
Do you think they need the money from gambling? They are already. billiomaires and millionaires. Do you want to see coaches and players at the end of the year saying Well we didn't win our division or make the playoffs but we still got hefty bonuses because we covered sixty percent of our spreads.
If you think you hear a lot of people complaining about fixed games right now. just wait. This will never work. Sure the greedy bastards will be willing to take anything they can, but it ain't right. The games were not designed for this. keep the gambling and the sports leagues seperate. Never the twain shall meet. Trump has been under investigation for the meerest hint of collussion with the Russians. That will be childs play comparred to the scandals that we will have over this. Hell they are already having it. how many major NCAA schools are currently under investigation right now. You want more? Just wait.

I'm not sure I understand your stance here. They want a percentage of the total handle, they get no more and no less if they cover the spread.

Let's say they all agree on 1% of total wagers goes to the league, that's it as far as the league goes, doesn't matter who covers and who doesn't so why would there be a need to fix a game? If anything I think this makes it harder to fix a game. Now, all these wagers can be tracked. When the bets are made illegally offshore (which I know they still will be able to) nobody in charge has any idea where to look for collusion. Now, when they see a disproportionate amount wagered on the Browns to beat, well, anyone, and they actually win the game then red flags abound.

Bookies catch "fixes" quite often. They are the ones who alert the authorities. Gambling has been legal in Nevada for decades, and the leagues never asked for a kick. In fact, they all pretended they were outraged over gambling on their games. The courts do NOT need the blessing of sports leagues to pass a gambling bill.

The leagues will have to hire more personal to police their leagues better. How many and how good of a job they do is a different matter. You are expanding from one state to 20-25 right off the bat so the gambling in "VEGAS only" argument doesn't carry much water. Plus when it's legal everywhere their PRODUCT will be under closer scrutiny. All those people who never gambled on sports before will think every time they LOSE the game is fixed. Just sayin" I could be wrong :0008

Don't get me wrong, I'm of the opinion the leagues don't get shit. I just don't see how legalizing gambling on the games would increase the number of "business" games.
