Just watched the post fight interviews, and I gotta say, I didn't dig Brett Rogers at all

Dude deserves credit for fighting hard - really hard - but the end result was he got his ass knocked the f out. And Rogers wouldn't admit it. He was acting like he made a ton of mistakes and in a rematch he would dominate. "Best believe I will throw him"

One problem Brett. You had your chance tonight. and you got knocked out. Sorry. Next in line.

espn had this in their blog:

"To attract them, CBS and Strikeforce are hoping the monosyllabic Russian Fedor Emelianenko will outgrow his cult popularity among tape collectors to become a mass-audience draw. On their side: He's exciting, dangerous, and far less likely than Kimbo Slice to be knocked out by a man in a dress."

Why do people say until he fights the best?
Who is to say Shane Carwin or Cain are the best?
Give me a break. Fedor's already beaten the majority of past UFC heavyweights.

Last night sold me on this guy being able to battle adversity and do whatever he wants. He fought a guy who was bigger stronger and taller and he knocked him out at his own game.

BTW no love for Moussasi? He could compete in the UFC right now.

"the bunker"
rogers fought a good fight(translation:he made it out of the first round)...

but after rewatching it,it just reinforces what i thought originally(he seemed scared to death)...he was getting chased around the ring...

he lasted as long as he did because he wasn`t engaging...there were times when he rushed in to fedor without throwing a punch to avoid exchanging...

he was extremely fortunate...he landed a reflexive jab in the first exchange, that did surprising damage...after that,nothing...

he did better on the ground,surprisingly...reason?....fedor was attempting submissions and got caught on the bottom...

what the hell happened between that jab and the k.o.?....something did...cause rogers` vaunted stand-up was nowhere to be found....

rematch?....why?...affirmative action?...since when does getting ktfo in the second round of a five round bout warrant a rematch?

What was amazing to me is that Fedor didn't wait. Rogers has the rep of stand up being his strng point, Fedor didn't wait until he was in his preferred zone, he took the risks against the big punching who is supposedly one dimensional in stand up.

I don't know MMA, but any hillbilly can see what happened there.

As a boxing guy, Fedor threw a perfect punch. He didn't telegraph or wind up for a second. He got his arm into position slowly and subtly to the point where you would have never predicted he was about to throw it, then exposively let off a perfectly-aimed missle with full body extension.

PERFECT punch.

Well said NJ. first thing i thought. That punch was so accurate and not a hint of winding back. The guy throws some sloppy punches but when it counts he threw a beautiful accurate punch. The guy is an assasin. A beautiful straight right.

There is only one idiot running around saying that. The same guy who has been preaching this Hioki character who just lost to an average fighter.

They know where Fedor is. Why don't they go after him? The best doesn't cater to challengers. Maybe Lesner and the boys are scared to go after Fedor. I know i wouldn't want anything to do with him. Just two words from last nights Fedor fight. WOW.

We will never know how good Hioki is because he will not fight the best. :142smilie

Unless you count an 7-8 guy one of the best.

And Kickserv keeps asking for Fedor to fight the best which in Kickserv's eyes means to fight under the UFC flag and ignore the fact that Barnett was listed by almost everyone as the 2nd best HW in the world when he was supposed to fight him.
My question is this. If these UFC guys are the best then when are they going to fight somebody? All I see is Dos Santos fighting bums like Cro Cop and whiy is Randy stepping down in competition to fight Vera?
Carwin fights in the "best league" in the world and yet he has beaten nobody worth a damn as of yet.
When are the best going to fight the best?

There is also a guy on here who said Shields and Swick would beat GSP....wonder who that guy is??

Fight the best Fedor......next up Werdum:mj07:

Gotta love the nuthuggerskurby

I just love how the Fedor backers don't see that he has not fought good guys. It just makes me laugh. Look at all the top guys in the world and who they fight day in and day out, and then look at Fedor's opponents. Pretty pathetic to say the least. At least he's fighting better guys now, but it is still beyond pathetic who he's fought. So Werdum is another top 5 guy huh. Yeah right.:142smilie

And Sponge maybe you should have watched the Hatsu fight......pure robbery.

And until Fedor fights Kimbo he is nothing........you have to get by Kimbo before you are truly a champion.

I think you are punishing Fedor for the demise of Pride too much. Fedor ducked nobody in Pride and is ducking nobody now.
I am sure he feels like he has done more than enough to prove to people that he is the best. He feels like UFC needs him more than he needs the UFC.
Maybe he looked at the UFC and said who have these guys beat? I can stay in Strikeforce and fight top guys like Barnett and maybe Overeem. At least those guys have fought quality opponents.

Yes we all know he went 2 or 3 years fighting a bunch of nobody's after Pride crumbled.
He has fought 2 former UFC champs and an unbeaten Rogers. That is more impressive than anything Carwin/Cain/dos Santos have done in their careers.

It's not just the oponnents, but the way he dispatches them.

Tyson's best win came against 40 year old Holmes, yet a lot of experts pick him in head to heads vs HW legends like Ali or Louis.

crow.......good point, can't argue with you there Fedor does get it done impressively, agreed.

Just be real nice if he could face the likes of:

Brock Lesnar, Frank Mir, Cain Velasquez, Randy Couture, Junior Dos Santos, Shane Carwin, Anderson Silva, Overeem (Roids prevents him from fighting in USA), Lyoto Machida, etc.

Man wouldn't that be great........what a concept, fighting the best over and over again, isn't that what a champ does.

(and yes I know Anderson and Machida are in different weight classes but Fedor fought Lindland for fucks sake)

Instead, who does Fedor fight next.......Werdum....sad, very very sad. That's what ya get when ya sign with StrikeForce:nono:

If Fedor truly wanted to fight the best he would have taken the amazing deal UFC offered him, instead he didn't. Not even kegray would argue with me there.

Fight the best Fedor.....weepaul would even pick ya up from the airport and drive ya to the venue:142smilie

Fuck....even Sponge "it is good for the fans" would back me up on this.

Yep....even Sponge.

I mean who wouldn't want to see Fedor vs Brock or any of those guys.

I mean.......how horrid is Fedor versus Werdum
......fuck even weepaul sees that that fight sucks.

Fedor versus Werdum just plain sucks:sleep:

But hey that's what ya get when your with StrikeForce..........Werdum will get mauled. What the fuck can Werdum do to beat Fedor. Another guy Fedor fights outside of top 10.....yes....another:nono:

If anyone thinks Fedor is the best in the world they need to have their head examined.........Fedor got the job done props to him.

Great KO by Fedor.......but props to Rogers.........

Fedor.........now you'll fight Werdum (who Santos destroyed).......gimmie a fucking break:nono:

Fedor.....fight the best you scumbag:nono:

Huge props to Rogers......didn't think he'd last that long.

You're an idiot. Get off GSP's cock and give Fedor his props. He took a jab that probably broke his nose, then took some hard shots on the ground that would KO/TKO most, or like GSP...make you tap.
