Really looking forward to watching Ray Daniels.
He is a cocky prick, but man is he awesome kick striker or what.
First MMA fight on Friday and kegray rankings has him as the #1 kick striker in MMA history to date.
Better than Cung Le or Cro Cop.

I was just about to add my thoughts on the Daniels fight but ya beat me to it:SIB But remember it his his 1st MMA fight. Although I am looking forward to seeing him in MMA. As for him being number 1 for kicking power......hard to rank somebody number 1 when you have never fought in MMA. In MMA, you can't just "throw em" at will like you can in other disciplines. But yes he does have power that's for damn sure. Be real curious to see the odds on that fight. Good first fight for him, Jeremiah Metcalf isn't horrific, lots of guys in MMA would smoke Daniels, I don't think Metcalf is one of em. And remember I am the one who does the ranking....argue with me and you are banned:142smilie I can't agree with him as number 1, simply because he has not proven himself!


Also.......looking forward to the chick fight, always like to watch the chickies, rare for the chickies to have a boring fight:SIB

Im looking forward to the Riggs/Stewart doubleheader. Their second fight should be the best because thoretically there shouldn't be a feeling out process....

I think Daniels will try MANY of the things he has always done because that is what he knows right now. Being up against MMA fighters doesnt seem to bother Cung Le that much because he is so quick like Daniels.

And I didn's say he had the best power,just going to be a deadly striker. That combines power and accuracy.
Cro Cop in his prime is tough to top on power alone.
Like he says right foot will put you in the hospital,left foot will put you in the morgue.

Metcalf is decent and odds should be nice to grab on Daniels.

Hurricane....I always like watching Riggs, and this fight is at "catch weight". Gotta love Riggs, he'll fight on 1 hour notice and fight anywhere against anybody, gotta respect that!


And kegray......I pretty much agree with ya, I was just saying that ya can't hype somebody who has never ever fought in MMA, that's all I am saying. There are plenty of guys, and I mean plenty of guys that would destroy Daniels. It is his first MMA event and he's fighting a guy who isn't exactly great. So just keep that in mind. You don't want to....."pull a Kimbo" now do ya:142smilie

These clips were my first glimpse of Daniels.... he's got some really unorthodox kicks to say the least.. that should help catch some people off guard.. some of his strikes seem aimless, typical of a guy that looks to have worn sparring/headgear his whole life (doesnt seem to have near the accuracy of Cung Le)... dont know how well his style will translate to MMA.. :shrug:

We'll see i guess...... not familiar w/ the Metcalf fellow FWIW.

If it was me fighting Daniels, i would just catch one of those kicks and throw him over my shoulder to knock him unconscious... would be an easy victory for me. :look:

I think Daniels tones it down somewhat in MMA. He better or he will got caught.
Cung Le is awesome and accurate,but Daniels is NONSTOP and like you said not sure if thst is a good thing in MMA. Time will tell,but Strikeforce/EliteXC is not loaded with great fighters and he should learn as he wins before jumping to another level.

Sweet, I've been looking foward to seeing Daniels in MMA. He could be a flop but their will be a lot of oohing and ahhing from the crowd either way.

These are good times in MMA, a lot of top guys are starting to come in from other venues. It will do nothing but add excitement.

I think Daniels will have to throw his strikes then move out. From seeing his videos he is non stop with his kicks and punches everywhere. He won't have the wrestling of Cung Le. Interesting to see how he does in MMA. if the odds are good ( ie underdog) may go small on Metcalf - I think Daniels over commits himself in the striking and forgets about keeping his distance and ends up on his back

I viewed some footage of Metcalf... he seems to have a decent clinch game and ground control.. both should help counter Daniel's primary style..
