I am somewhat shocked at the odds on Melendez(-345). Thomson is a solid fighter even if he is stepping up in competition. I thought Melendez would be around -160.

Well hopefully it is not a bad injury:shrug: But I guess that does explain why he is such a big underdog, I just can't pass up those odds:scared

He incurred a shoulder dislocation and tear when sparring and had surgery on it and hasn't fully recovered his mobility or strength yet. With that said, he divulged this information too easily for my liking. I don't like to listen to what fighters have to say leading into fights because it's usually BS.

For example, Mike Swick claimed to have done several test cuts for his fight with Burkman since he was dropping a weight class and he said all went smoothly. Then afterwards the turd claims he didn't do enough preparation. Listening to that idiot almost cost me some money.

Thomson is nowhere near ready for Melendez. I think Melendez is gonna handle Thomson fairly easy for several reasons.

The two main reasons for me are because of his injury + rust. Oh, and did I mention that Melendez is a beeeeast?

Unless I'm misremembering the 1st fight or unaware of some extenuating circumstances, I'm dumbfounded as to why Southworth is favored over Ruiz.

Ruiz, from my recollection was in control of the 1st fight and it didn't look like a fluke. Also, in his last 2 fights Ruiz has beaten Brad Imes, a competant HW and a SHW whose name I'm forgetting at the moment. Add on to that Southworth is nearing 40 and Ruiz 30. I see Ruiz as the favorite.

The weirdness of the line has me somewhat confused, but I put a little down at +240.

Joe Riggs off the card as Cali would not license him.
As for Southworth vs Ruiz. Ruiz has to be the play with those odds.
I saw the 1st fight and Southworth should have finished Ruiz in the first.
Southworth landed a punch that knocked Ruiz down and he got a mount, but Ruiz got out and they stood up. Southworth took him down late in the round and didn't do a whole lot,but won the 1st.
2ndR was short as Ruiz came out bombing and landing big early and often. If I remember it was the punches and a headbutt that led to the cut that the doctor stopped. I didn't think the cut was that really bad enough to stop it there.

The California State Athletic Commission is a joke, no wonder why so many MMA fighters refuse to fight in California. Time after time after time they do crap like this. I know if I were an MMA fighter I'd never fight in that state. Just wait for the Affliction card, I am sure some garbage will happen at that event as well.

Riggs gets the shaft.....what a joke:nono:

It's annoying when I forget details, but thanks for filling them in for me. Nonetheless, I agree that Ruiz is still the play.
