you have your opinion. i have mine. oh well.

the ufc's hw division is so overrated it's not funny. there is only a couple guys at the top, and the rest are just average. strikeforce's HW div clearly isn't as deep, but at the top, much better...

Have you seen Werdum's standup? I'm a HUGE supporter of Werdum, but his standup is average at best. He got lucky against Fedor when Fedor had him mauled. Dos Santos completely sandstormed him. Overeem is going to TKO him IMO.

No I agree with all of that.
I am just saying if Werdum can avoid the standup part long enough to get to the mat then 3-1 is going to look pretty good.
I expect the early ko of Werdum but I still question Overeem's balance after watching him in K1.

you could probably hedge a werdum wager,ke......i think that overeem has finished something like 33 out of 34 opponents....and only around 3 went past the first...

I think Reem is a good bet even with the odds where they are. Fedor lost to him because he wanted to stay in guard. Overeem won't even get close to seeing the ground in this fight. His strength will be very apparent if the two of them get close, which I don't think will happen.

I think JDS vs Overeem would be epic and to be honest I have no clue who would win but lean towards JDS. I do however think Cain is the best HW right now. We know he has a good chin, his hands are getting better and have looked really good, IMO he's quicker than any other HW and the one we all know is very important is that his wrestling is the best of any HW.

lot of relatively competitive fights...i like griggs at -120...and maybe silverback at + odds(hoping for a little better than +105)...

Wow. I was guessing Cormier would be around -160 to -200. NOT -350.

Cormier is the better fighter but has yet to beat anyone near Monson''s level.
I am not sure Monson can do enough to win but a average fighter in Devin Cole was able to go the distance with Cormier so I fully expect this to go 3 rounds.

Just made 2 plays on Werdum.

Werdum wins in 1st round(+900) for 20 wins 180.
Werdum wins in 2nd round((+1260) for 20 wins 252.

I think Overeem will finish him early if this doesn't go to the ground so bigger odds on Werdum to finish it in rounds 1 or 2 seems better than the +300 for the fight.

MY PLAYS

MY PLAYS

Rogers +300 small
I think he is in the best shape of his career.Ionly went small as I can see him getting submitted.I can also see him catching Barnett and getting the win.

Wilcox +110 medium.
I really like Wilcox here.I think his power and wrestling will help him take the fight wherever he wants it.

Noons -150 small
He has good powerfull striking.I hope his take down defence is improved enough to keep it standing.

V.Overeem +105 medium
I feel like im the only one here to think this.I was going to wait as I think the odds will get better by fight time for him. After rewatching Griggs vs Lashley I
seen Lashley take him down and get into dominate position very easy.Lashley has 0 submission skills tho.If overeem has enough to take him down and get in those same positions then he does have the subs to finish it.Of course i have to hope his chin holds up.

A.Overeem/Cormier medium
Overeem is a much improves fighter since they last met.I think hes just to much for Werdum to handle.Werdum can sub anyone if he can catch them but just dont see that happening here.
Cormier is just going to be too much for a shop worn Monson.

Good Luck everyone,
Vic

agree on wilcox ,noons and cormier(a bit hesitant on wlicox and noons...wilcox in particular...cavalcante is very good)......i guess we`re the only ones that are impressed with cormier...when i watched his last fight i was shocked that he actually had game...and he`s explosively quick for a chunky guy....

monson`s had a history of back problems/pain...but the odds are steep...i understand why folks might want to take a flyer...

Plays are

Big on KJ - Better striking wins this
small on Werdum - Winner of this number 3 in the world?
Small on Griggs - Should be an entertaining fight

views on the rest

JZ was a heck of a talent. But his body can't keep up with the demands of the sport. I would not be surprised to see Wilcox get the win

Rogers/ Barnett. Barnett's biggest fight in years. This is actually closer than the odds suggest. I'm leaning towards a Barnett win on the judges scorecards

Monson/ Cormier - This will be basically a kick boxing fight. Monson does not win many of those

Barnett looked like shit....I guess laying off the roids will do that to ya:142smilie

I'd love to see Rogers knock his head off. Yes Rogers isn't very good but at least he seems like a decent guy. Barnett is not only over-rated but a dick and a cheater.

Oh and by the way somebody please tell me the last time Overeem fought somebody in the top 5:shrug:

He has fought some shit competition, Werdum ain't top 5 (Dos Santos destroyed him remember) but Werdum ain't shit. If Werdum can get this fight into the 3rd round Overeem will gas and Werdum could submit him.

Overeem is good and one scary dude......but don't forget...he has fought a ton of shit fighters over the years

HELL
Not sure what this means, as I really havent seen Werdum fight all that much, but he weighed in about 9 pounds more than what he did for Fedor. Gaining more size for AO, or not in the best of shape concealing his frame wearing the gi outfit. Anyone?

good question.....werdum seems like a serious competitor and maybe he feels like he needs the extra weight to deal with overeem......but anytime a guy wears a get-up to a weigh-in,it`s worth questioning,imo....

and i agree with kick....my god, barnett is usually "loose"...but he looked downright fat here......and he`s getting up there...he`s been in some wars...much more talented but with much more wear and tear than rogers....

i had barnett is a par...now i`m rethinking a bit....

btw, thanks for posting the weigh in vid,kick....always helps to see what you`re wagering on in real time..... :toast:
