My pool has a crazy tiebreaker format, AFTER the super bowl. Damn thing goes through the playoffs. Started with 750 entries $10 a piece, most people with multiple entries. I didn't think it would make it much into the post season but we still have 100 people left. Im starting to sweat, I started saving playoff teams at about week 9 but already gone are: Cincy, Dallas, Wash, Seattle, Carolina, Jax, Denver, KC and Tampa.
Gotta go Miami this week along with probably 50 others, and hope for a mass exodus in week 17.
GL to everyone as we wind down.

I am going with Jacksonville... It scare me, I don't like playing a backup QB, and SF is going to win again, I just hope it is not this weekend.

The only other teams I would pick would be miami or carolina, but I already used carolina.

we have 41 people left, 30 of which either have Jax or carolina available, so I assume there will be a bunch of people on these 2 teams.

I personally think Miami gets upset this week. I can see a letdown after a big road win. They have done wonders so far this year by beating Oak and SD, they knocked out a bunch of people, I am hoping they can knock a few more out by losing this weekend.

We do not have a tie-breaker, just split it with all the winners

Bringing this back to the top...

All I can say is, damn, I feel like I stole one with Jax! Never thought I'd have to sweat that one out like I did. I imagine most made it though. We only lost one person who took Arizona. Sorry for those on Miami, but I was sure hoping to see the Jets pull that one out since there were 8 in my pool on the Fins.

Looking ahead to Week 16, 6 weeks ago I had circled the Rams in case I got this far. I still lean to them but am not crazy about the pick. Niners seem to be playing pretty decent ball right now although a 3rd consecutive road game for them may help my cause. Also looking at the Panthers, Bucs and Saints (call me crazy but they should beat a very bad Lions team at home, or wherever it is in the Deep South that they play.)

I'd like to keep the good dicsussions going in this short week.

4.Balt
5.Pit
6.KC
7.Wash
8.Dal
9.NYG

welcome any/all opinions.

Heres my early leans for wk 16:

1. I like St. Louis at home vs San Fran (NOW that San fran & Hoston are tied at 2-12, I think they both lose this week for sure. Especially since they play each other in the "BUSCH BOWL WK 17"
2. I Like Jax (might save for wk 17 at home) at Houston
3. I like Carolina at home vs Dallas
4. I like Miami at home vs Tennessee
5. I like Minny At Baltimore

Please share your thoughts on my games....

Glad to see everyone still *survived* folks

I still have the Broncos left and am almost certain I will be on them this weekend. Oakland is done, players give up on Norv, time to clean house...when you lost to the Brownies at home, you got some serious issues.

I would scratch Minny off your list there lanbe, Brad Johnson would have trouble with that Ravens D, as we witnessed yesterday with the Steelers

Not too crazy about Miami with Sage Rosenfels at the helm either.

St. Loo seems to be the play for most folks. Ryan Fitz is making rookie mistakes but It's the 49ers on the road we're talking about here!

GL fellas

It's been a long and grinding road but the promised land is near!

Looks like you're sitting pretty canabiz w/ Denver and the Steelers in Week 17. GL

lanbe, I agree w/ canabiz in that you should mark Minny off your potential pick list. I'm pretty sure St. Louis will be my pick unless somebody can convince me otherwise. I hate taking a team playing for nothing but at this point, they look like my best option.

Bringing this back to the front again...

Well here we go again fellas. Jacksonville barely squeaked by those almighty 49ers, very ugly win but I guess I'll take it any day.

Only 1 person was done this past weekend thanks to the Cardinals. I was really counting on the Jets to do something substantial but again, like so many times this year, it's all for naught at the end.

Barring any last minute's change of heart, I will almost certainly be on the Broncos this weekend against those Raiders. I think Broncos need a win to wrap up the division and Oakland just about gave up on Norv Turner. When you lost to the Brownies and Charlie Frye at home, i'm sorry but you got some serious issues.

Once again, I sure hope everyone survive and please chime in your thoughts as always. This is a short week so all picks will need to be in by Friday.

Thanks fellas and Surviving we shall!

Recap of teams I have chosen and can't take anymore!

Week 1: Bengals

Week 2: Jets

Week 3: Rams

Week 4: Ravens

Week 5: Colts

Week 6: Chiefs

Week 7: Redskins

Week 8: Cowboys

Week 9: Giants

Week 10: Panthers

Week 11: Chargers

Week 12: Bye

Week 13: Patriots

Week 14: Seahawks

Week 15: Jaguars

It's been a long and grinding road fellas but the promised land is near!

canabiz I like your Bronco pick. I was trying to hold Denver until this week but I really liked them last week so I used them.

I'm still in a quandry here.

I've narrowed down my choices but just can't pull the trigger..

1st. St. louis (not really playing for anything here)
2nd Miami ( Not really playing for much)
3rd Jacksonville (
4th Carolina

PLEASE SHARE YOUR OPINONS FURTHER ON THESE GAMES.

I also have St. Louis, Miami and Carolina available. I have been leaning to the Rams primarily because the Niners will be playing their 3rd straight road game. I have also really been considering the Panthers although Parcells has historically gotten his teams to play well after a big loss.

Tough call but I really think I'll take the Rams.

After looking at my options a little closer, I've had a change of heart. I think I'm going to go with Pittsburgh this week at Cleveland and then use TB in Week 17 at home vs. NO.

Thoughts?

well, I survived with Jax.. barely. A jets win would have knocked us down from 40 to 12.... damn

I am scared this week, based on favorites (ATS) this is who I can still use.... pretty scarce...
KC
Miami
NO
TB
STL
Zona
Balt

I am guessing I am going to use STL.... I think reggie will look nice in a SF uniform. Second choice is Miami, but just like SF is due for a win, Miami is due for a dud. I don't trust any of the other teams

IN MY POOL I STILL HAVE PITT CARO TB ATL STL MINN AND THE REMAINING DREK. I WAS CONSIDERING THE RAMS (NO MOTIVATION @ HOME VS SF WHO IS STILL STRIVING FOR # 1 PIC), PITT (BUT I AM AFRAID OF CLEVE @ HOME). WHAT DOES ANYONE THINK OF TB @HOME VS ATL OFF A POOR PERFORMANCE.

ALL OPINIONS WELCOME

THANX

I'm in a similar situation and I'm taking Pittsburgh and if I make it through, TB in week 17 at home against NO. The Steelers have everything to play for and although the Browns have played OK lately, Pitt is clearly the better team. I feel good about the pick. I had considered the Rams but I don't like taking a team with nothing to play for.

Pulling this to the top for the last week. Thank goodness I changed my mind and went with the safe pick of Pittsburgh. I had St. Louis circled for 6 weeks and also had Carolina and NO in my possibilities. Hope everyone made it through! Tampa Bay will be my play this week with hopes of getting a split. We still have 9 left although the Rams did take out 8. GLTA

Congrats to any Survivors.

The Broncos made it look easy for me this past weekend. Our pool is now down to a tidy 15 after St. Louis, Carolina and Cinny knocked out a combine 17 with 1 on New England tonight as well

Barring any last minute's change of heart, I will most likely be on the Steelers in the last week of the regular season who face a must-win game vs. the Lions at Heinz Field

The pool pot is $18K so I hope a few more would bite the dust when all is said and done.

I believe you are sitting pretty with the Steelers. I had intended on saving them for Week 17 as well but saw that a Steelers/Bucs last two would work better than Rams/Steelers.....lucky for me I saw that! Since TB is playing for the division, I can't see them laying an egg against the Saints.

I also played Denver this week and I will most likely also be using the Steelers this weekend. I was hoping this game meant something to them or I was in trouble but I can't see them losing to the lowly Lions with a playoff spot possible hanging in the balance. The problem is even if the Steelers win and I "survive" .. I am most likely going to lose the MNF tie-breaker cause there are I believe 4 of us left as of now and I am not leading the tiebreaker which sucks arse ... playing the whole season perfect and get quat!

Good to hear from ya Lightning, i thought you were done, not seeing any of your input for the past couple of weeks

What kind of MNF tie-breaker do you have ? Totals/sides/spreads ? I never like tie-breaker, we work too hard for our picks man, at the very least we should get something. I for sure better get back my $50 entrance fee at least

Either way, good luck this week fellas, It's been a really fun season so far, going down to the wire as we speak

Thank you everyone for your help! I lost out w/St. Louis. Its been a great ride but somebody has to lose...

Being from Pittsburgh, I am sort of biased but I do believe they will pound the lions this weekend.

Here are some of my additional thoughts for what they are worth:

TB should destroy New orleans

Wash beats Philly

Dallas beats St. Louis

Indy beats Arizona

Carolina beats Atlanta...

Good Luck to All AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YA!!!!!
