I know I have made plenty of these wagers myself, and it feels good when you get a win because of those extra points, but how expensive are they?

A 10 point 3 team football teaser costs -130. That's a lot of juice, AND you need to win THREE GAMES! What I have found over the years, is that very infrequently do the points come into play. What I mean by this, is that I don't have too many of my plays come down to the points saving me. I either beat the posted spread, or get blown out on at least some of those plays.

How often do you win a teaser, based solely on the extra points saving you? BUT if you played each of the three teams straight, for one third of the teaser cost, I think you would make/save far more money than playing the teaser.

The odds of going 1/2 or 2/1, are far more likely than an 0-3 or 3-0 day.

When that happens, you obviously save cash. Sure, there are those rare occasions when multiple parts of your teaser win due to the extra points you get. These are the times we think teaser bets are the greatest thing in the world.

I think if you monitor you teaser bets, you'll find that I am correct. Teasers are actually COSTING you money, in the long run.

The only thing I like to tease is a home favorite of 6or7. Teased down to even game.

It's called a teaser for a reason. I add them in from time to time because I hate paying retail for anything and the points make me feel I'm getting a deal sometimes.

Good thread. Love to hear others opinions and viewpoints on this. :0074

I think teasers are profitable

-6 to -8.5 and +1.5 and +4.5 have had positive tease results over a long history of results. Key numbers seem less important this year with the XP being moved back

More Action!

More Action!

I like smaller bet, open teasers. Often hard for me to find straight lines I feel comfortable with, so open, multiple team teasers give me better numbers, and I feel like I have action on more games.

Sadly, the same could be said

Sadly, the same could be said

for any sports betting in the long run.

How many here can honestly claim very meaningful LASTING REAL, (not internet imaginary claimed, huge) profits over a length of time?

VERY, VERY FEW I would venture to say.....x26:x26:

But your money lasts longer straight betting. It's the lesser of two evils.

I like teasers but I do often times say I could have parlayed them instead because they would have covered ats. The teaser just gives more confidence and this year the books cleaned up early on NFL teasers as evidenced by the survivor pools being blown up early, how many people had the fawking saints on a 10 point teaser vs Tampa in week 2. Hell the 20 person survivor pool I was in was done week 3

Agreed. I will say that Golf has been profitable to me long term. College football was for a long stretch, but suffered a big losing season about 5-6 years ago and I have only been slightly profitable at best since. I am down 4-5 units this season and more than that last season. MLB, nba and nfl I lose constantly, so I play very limited.

My man and i settle at +/- $1k. In past 2 years he's paid my 8 times, I've paid him 4(including this past Friday). I'm on a downward trend, though. We were at 8-2 after week 1 of college football.

Going to start playing college hoops this week, which rarely works out for me.

As for teasers, I only use them in the nfl, which happens to be my worst sport. Coincidence, probably not!

Yep, I used to like teasers and then realized that 9 out of 10 times whenever I won one I would have won it as a straight parlay, so really I was costing myself money. So then I started just playing parlays instead but after a couple years of many many 2-1 and 3-1 losing days I went back to straight bets. Every once in a while I'll still do a $20 4 or 5 team parlay but I don't really expect to win those. I am generally a $50/game player (occasionally go as high as $100 or $150) so sometimes it's just nice to have the prospect of winning $500 in a day without having to lay out a ton.

But profitable? Absolutely not.
