Schalken.....simple really........he plays great on the hardcourts and his game matches up well to Robredo's.......plus he always seems to play well in big tourneys........oh and of course there's this.....last year Schalken beat Robredo handily.....the price of $1.85 seems like a great deal! Almost like doubling your money.....well almost!
and by the way....just because I know my tennis doesn't mean I always know who is going to win
as for early lines in tennis...........they are all non sponsors...but Olympic and Pinnacle seem to get lines up somewhat "early".
Remember.....can always call your book and ask them to put up tennis lines "early"......hey ya got nothing to lose right
ask madjack for my e-mail and I'll e-mail you a list of books that offer tennis..........just don't want to post a books website that doesn't advertise here.....not fair to jack :nono:
I can tell ya that "overseas" books have more tennis action then we do over here.....especially some of the ones in Aussyland
and remember what I said...........tennis lines go all over the place......can find HUGE differences in prices
this is what i was talking about yesterday.
trust me, i know the various methods lines are calculated.
i wasn't going to bother replying, but those kind of statements are truly "off the wall".
Olympic has Schalken at -145
SIA has Schalken (using your "decimal" method) at $1.62
so at Olympic you bet $145 to win $100 ... not even close to doubling your money.
and at SIA you bet $100 to get $162 ... that INCLUDES your wager (what i was alluding to yesterday) ... again not even close to doubling your wager. in fact, the same $145 only gets you $89.51 !
everyone should be aware that the decimal method INCLUDES the wager.
i really would like to know what book you use. those prices are all about 20 - 25 % better - but especially for the parlays. i can be found on MSN (hotmail) as prospector_
ask madjack for my e-mail and I will send you a list of books that offer tennis betting (there are over 55 that I know of)
and as for the price on Schalken I can give you a website that examines the price of over 89 books.....and on this site (which I can't show here because it does not advertise here) you will see that the odds on Schalken range from $1.85 (-117) all the way down to $1.45 (-220).
and if ya paid attention to my posts I've said at least 50 times that tennis prices go all over the place............
so hopefully I've set the record straight..........and I'm well aware of how to calculate odds......so when I say -117 ALMOST doubles your money.....I meant ALMOST.........I think I'm aware that $2.00 (+100) doubles your money.......
there was no need for the math lesson............here is a list of odds on the Schalken match with the books crossed out:
nothing against you, it's just that decimal method is, well, an odd way to quote a line. it's great for calculating winnings perhaps, but including your wager in the quote ... ??? ... like, why?
anyway just forget it. which ever works for each of us is great as long as we're making money, right?
anyway, i left you the information to make contact. i really hope you do.
ya put it best.....whatever works for ya......well said
and FWIW........more bettors in the world use the decimal method then the Vegas method (try explaining -110 to a Brit and see what kind of look you get!!)........but hey......whatever your used to....all I know is I like to win my bets rather then lose em.....and that's the best method of all
Prospector. Keep in mind an easy way to transorm the decimal lines to money line for those less than 2.0 is to divide by 10000.
For example if the line quoted by Kick is 1.67. Take 10000 divided by 67 and you get the money line. Maybe you have a different way but this is pretty simple and obviously if it is over 2.0 just take 1 off the line. 2.3 is obviously going to be +130. Hopefully this helps you as I used to be frustrated with those decimal lines as well.
