Great reasoning there. . . lol

Anyways, I'll shut my mouth and leave it up to all of you to decide until after the game. . . if Arizona goes down, I'll be one of the first in here admitting I was wrong. . . but I don't expect to have to make such a post.

Nickelback your funny.....glad to see you backing your team on this one but you will fall short. This is somewhat of a homecoming game for TX if you want to call it that. As I previously mentioned, two players that start for UT are from NY. They will be VERY PUMPED up for this game. Okay so you played FL...you want a cookie? As far as TX playing 4 give me games...your right...BUT....they did EXACTLY what they were suppose to do which is beat the livin sh*t out of them...enough said. Yes AZ has won 6 straight but you FAILED to mention who had the SUPERIOR talent in those 6 wins:rolleyes: .....well just take a WILD guess who has the TALENT edge in this game???? That's right, T E X A S!!! Hands down.

Good luck to you my little friend.....save your CHEESE for a rainy day in Arizona...

Funny, look at a couple of the spreads from those previous games between Arizona/Texas and some were supposed to be close games.

I'm not about to resort to calling you my little friend or telling you to save your cheese for a rainy day in Texas. . . you are on the wrong side from a capping standpoint, but hey, you may get lucky and win.

Either way, I wish you luck my BIG friend.

Please explain to me how I am on the wrong side from a capping standpoint? TX has the better players with more experience on the floor and a deeper more talented bench and Rick Barnes is NO Tom Penders. Thanks for any input.

HO yes before I forget my little friend....Do you remember how far TX went in the tournament last year??? I do! Well that being said, they only lost 1 player from that team sir. How far did AZ go? Hmmmm. Interesting eh?

Let's go Horns

Let's go Horns

Horns most underrated college team in hoops. Final four team returning 4 starters with great depth. Horns will be ready to send a message.

I'll take my horns -2 and continue to ride them as I did last season.

As far as the bowl, for me football is over and tonight we start our run to San Antonio.............

Just burns me up inside when someone says that TX isn't battle tested when they played in the FINAL 4 last year in front of 60-70 thousand peeps and they are returning 4 starters from that team with all of them having 3 yrs starting experience....go FIGURE

sorry Nickelback but you lost your bold prediction last year when you predicted a blowout only to escape defeat at YOUR place. Spread was 11, we lost by 3, easy money.

While it's true this year's team hasn't been in a big game environment, there are only 3 new players: PJ Tucker, Edgar Moreno, and Kenny Taylor. I'd say the rest of the 7 players in the rotation have been in a big game environment or two. Let's see, Final Four, 65,000+ fans, Superdome. These same guys have played in the MSG arena before also, so they're no strangers to the venue.

I'm curious what the WRONG reasons are as to why 70% of the public is on Texas. Please explain. I think there's a reason we're favored in this game and you'll learn why tonight.

Texas fans are so passionate about their team its like if I knock how the Horns have faired against Arizona in the past they take it personally

I don't ever remember making a BOLD prediction that Arizona would whip Texas. .. but maybe I did. . . who knows. They still won the game which is really all that matters to a team anyways. Tonight will be no different.

you're the only one coming off as a homer, even admitting so. I've stated my reasoning for taking a better Texas team. You in turn jumped in with little to no insight on this game other than arrogance towards your team because of winning the last 6. Psychological edges carry you only so far. Doesn't Texas have the motivation to end the streak?

UT has a huge edge in the front court. Arizona potentially has better scorers in the backcourt, but it's not like Texas can't put defenders on them. Arizona just doesn't look that good right now. Like I said, it's all about matchups and we matchup very well tonight.

Here's to ending the streak tonight!! :toast:

Monk,

There's no insight needed. . . Texas has played NOBODY so far this year at home and walk into the #6 position in the polls. . . Arizona has struggled in the eyes of many and has fallen to #8. The public is all over the Horns from what I have seen. The public is usually wrong.

It'll be interesting to see how well the Horns perform against their first quality opponent THIS year. . . my money says they will struggle in their first big game especially since it is being played in New York. Are the Horns a good team? Of course. .. they have a good chance to win if they come out and step up to the challenge. . . they have a great chance to reach the Final Four this year. I'm not dogging your team except that I feel this isn't the spot to lay down a lot of money on an unproven team. If they prove themselves tonight, I'll be the first one on here praising them and telling all of you how great the Horns look.

Call me a homer. . . no problem there. . but I didn't bet ALL THE TIME on Arizona last year (and no, I'm not saying that you did either but you inferred that I bet on Arizona over Texas when I don't remember betting on Arizona in that spot last year, hell maybe I did and you have a better memory than I do). . . I haven't bet on them in every game this year either. When I have bet on them, I have been quite successful except for the regional final against Kansas in the tournament last year.

Best of luck. . . we'll see what happens tonight.

UofA has beaten Texas 7 staright times, and MSG is there home away from, sorry no data but UofA has been practically unbeatable there over the last 10 years or so. UofA is certainly under manned and doesn't have any bodies to matchup w/ Thomas or the Texas PF's. The one thing UofA has is speed and atheleticism which unfortunately for UofA, Texas has too. Texas -2 looks about right expect a fast and high scoring game. If I wasn't a die hard UofA fan/alum I too would play Texas -2:(

Simply put Texas will win this game & there are numerous reason why that have been pointed out in this thread...I may have missed if someone already touched on this but I keep hearing UT hasnt played anyone....This isnt a freshman team. This is a Final Four team last year that returned 4 starters!!! This a team where 90% of the roster has been through many WARS in conference play in by far the best & toughest conference THE BIG 12. So to hold it against UT that they havent played anyone in thier first four games is just silly. Those first four games are pretty much just conditioning for a VERY experienced squad.

Not to mention Zona has traveled over 4,500 miles in the first 2 weeks of the season... any business travelers out there till you that will wear on you.

Tonight Zona will be UT's beyatches :142hump:

Texas -2 to the bank!

:Yep:

OK but who did Florida play before Arizona? Who did Stanford play before Kansas? GTech before UConn? Purdue before Duke? You're one big game was a loss at home against Florida and you struggled mightily on the road against a weak Billikens team. I just don't see where your team can have all of the confidence heading into this game.

Using that rationale won't get the job done against Texas. The same things were said last year in the tournament against UConn and Michigan St before losing to the eventual champs.

All that said, going to be a great game to watch and I can't wait. See you here tomorrow! ;)

The Florida UofA game was held in Springfield, MA and though Florida got away with a 1 point win, Arizona was up 4 with 40 seconds to go.
