Garcia first came into Woods' view at the 1999 PGA Championship, when he was 19 and ready to conquer the world. He gouged that 6-iron out of the base of the tree and chased it up the fairway, a brilliant display of enthusiasm and shotmaking that came up one shot short of Woods that day.

He's still running after him.

Their relationship is icy at best, with Woods becoming irritated six years ago at the Monday night ''Battle at Bighorn'' exhibition, when Garcia beat him on the last hole and celebrated as if he had won a major.

The last time they played in the final group was the Buick Invitational at Torrey Pines earlier this year. Woods started one shot behind Garcia and Rod Pampling and went on to win in a playoff as Garcia stumbled to a 75.

Have never so many angles go against Sergio of having any shot to beat Tiger
Hasn't beaten Tiger in final rd of any event in common since Moby Dick was a minnow
Only time he ever beat Tiger in final rd at Open was 2001 70/71
--and to complicate matters I can't recall him ever beating Tiger when paired with him.

Was going to retire from posting plays for most part but am curious just how bad ole Murphy can be--so will throw this one up

Looked good for two days when Els was back to his best, but then his iron play deserted him during the third round and his putter was very cold in the final round. It still looked as though Tiger had an extra gear even if Els had held his game together over the weekend.

As it happened I only played Pauite as I got "stuck" on the blackjack tables and missed my tee time at Badlands. Pauite (Wolf) was a good course....really enjoyed it.
