Bains- Nope, just regular cable for myself. Get all the Knicks and Nets games since I'm in the area. Nets certainly are a fun team to watch this season.

With all these illegal shenanigans going on in this thread...BearDown will certainly be making an appearance...watch out!

Does Beardown sell these systems? It's not really illegal in Canada, a neighbour of mine who is a cop has direct TV!! I can tell you since I got my dish I have become more knowledgeable about teams that I would never have seen on TV, which has led to easy bets. It's very good for an NBA bettor who wants to bet halftime lines, cause you can watch almost every game every night. I have never watched a REGULAR movie on my DTV, yet, too busy with capping games.

DIRECT TV: rating AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!

I love dtv. it is the best invention ever. My buddy darrinn sells the units and the guy has a real nice ride. These things are not illegal to sell or use in Canada YET, but in a few months there will be a review by the canadian cable board to see if they will allow the usage of dtv in canada.

One question though, do you know where can I get a loader in the US to program the card? I don't think that they would ship it to me from Canada. Thanks.

I recommend getting onto a satellite chat board, that's how I got most of my info on the satellite business. From there you will meet someone near your area that can fix you up with a loader. I know this one guy selling loaders here and he sold to people in the States. There a lots of places In Montreal or Toronto that sell these loaders, I'm sure they would mail it to you. What i did is split the cost with 2 friends, so i load up all of our cards. Check this site www.dss-canada.com they have pictures of the loader, and info about shipping to USA.

Thanks for the warning RICO WILDMAN!!!!!!!

I bought my loader from Montreal, and for everyone else be CAREFUL OF WHO YOU BUY YOUR SYSTEM OR LOADER FROM BECAUSE THEY ARE A LOT OF SCAMMERS OUT THERE. If you buy from a reputable company you should be ok.

Clubfoot give the website RICO suggested, they will set you up.

Sorry Clubfoot i personally never bought anything from DSS- Canada, didn't realize they were a scam, until RICO realized that but you can check their website for news about DTV. I hope you read this topic again before you order one from DSS.

Digital Audio Video Entertainment (DAVE) is clamping down on the illegal interception of their signal. You can no longer walk into Walmart or Best Buy and purchase a satellite system with a card. You can get all the hardware but you have to contact DAVE, then you have to sign up for programming, then they will send you a card. This past week eleven U.S. dealers of loaders and related hardware were busted by the feds, inventory was confiscated, ALONG WITH RECORDS OF WHO PURCHASED EQUIPMENT FROM THESE FOLKS. If you purchase equipment from Canada, it is subject to search and seizure by US Customs officials.

DAVE is probably reading some of these posts.

Mr Bains:

I suppose that marketing policies may vary from region to region in the USA. For your information, I was in a Walmart two days ago that had DTV systems for sale. Those systems did not include an activation card.

Furthermore, I am merely trying to point out to my fellow US citizens that what you are espousing in this thread is a felony offense in our country. You Canadians are free to do as you wish and as your laws allow. However, I would not want someone here in the states to jump out and buy something illegal because of poor advice they received on this board.

I don't know why you would jump on me so hard for posting this information. Don't you want people to be informed?

Sorry buddy i apoligize, but i guess if somebody wants what I'm talking about they can do it. Many Many people in the states have smart cards with loaders, and they aren't worried about being prosecuted. If you think along your lines, how about I post the penalties for betting with a bookie. I don't think people want to hear the penalties, they realize what they're doing is illegal, but we all continue to do it anyways. After all are you hurting anyone, IS THERE A VICTIM IN THIS?? NO that's why they don't prosecute people for things like this.

Skinar yes your info is important, but relax with the felony talk, everybody on this bored that bets through a bookie and not an on-line legal book, is commiting an offence of somekind ok.Many many people have these illegal systems and nothing has ever happened to them. Dealers are the ones that will be impacted not the buyer.

You may suggest to someone not to buy one but dont come straight out and tell them not to and scare them off with all this felony stuff
