The Dish Network or DIRECTV??

Personally, I could use a vacation, so I won't be upset if they bust me. They probably have a dish with every channel in those minimum security "Country Club" prisons anyway.

CLUBFOOT I don't think its likely that there are going to bust the hundreds of thousand of people that have these systems. But if they bust us give me a holler during our recess or work out hour. Even better we'll open the books inside the BIG HOUSE!!

Well i too am somewhat nieve as to how this system works.

why doesn't DTV or DSS simply correct this problem by scrambling the singal and then issuing new cards to the current subcribers.

I still do not see how this could continue much longer. i mean look at all the devices that people came up with to get pay stations on cable with the de-scramblers. well the cable companys are now able to control and monitor exactly what is in our homes now.(although for the few that simply "hook-up" and get it free anyway) the cable companys actually have a way of detecting how much siganl pull there is and where it is being pulled from. Although they dont "enforce" it that much they do come out and disconnect it adn try to secure it better so that u can not tamper with it again to gain access.

So i see these digital services doing the same soon. I mean why do u have to constantly re-programm the card anyway?

R they scrambling the signal, and r they the reprogramers just staying ahead of it with these new versions of software to download so that u can re-program ur own card so that it will continue to work.

Could someone please explain this to me as if i was a 4 year old so that i will understand this.(Movie Quote)not trying to be a smarta$$.

DTV won't change their signal because the hackers will come out with a fix for the new signal they send out. They can't really come out with a new card or technology, because that would be hard to send it out to every subscriber in the uSA without delays.

DTV used to shoot the signal down which means changing the frquency modulation of the radio waves. But now instead they kill the program , and on my tv appears to start service call ext 700. THey want people who aren't paying to call and order service. WE can't order in canada, and who would order anyway if they have it illegally. It takes a day usually for someone to come out with a program that unlocks the channels.
