LONDON -- Trading was suspended on Russian equity markets for an hour early Thursday after another sharp fall in the country's Micex Index, according to a Bloomberg report. Russian shares were down as much as 9% before the halt was called by regulators, the report added. Shares in emerging markets have continued to suffer as oil prices have dropped back toward $50 a barrel and the global economy has continued to weaken.
