Do people here think he will be still here in 3 4 years

I did the same thing in the 80's but i had a way better diet.. buffets ev day i wanted ...fab social life and hotel rooms cd be had for $25/inight in decent places ..i never lived in a down town flop house and never had to work....

No body ever commented on this..I almost find his life depressing having lived it myself...He is way under capitalized has a horrible diet and shd join a health club never once has been to In/Out Burger had a decent Pizza or decent food like a buffet.........that diet will eventually cause health problems so if he doesn't go broke he will start having health problems,.......so his future sucks I remember running into Lem Banker often at the Stardust and even at his age he was in great shape probably as good a shape as i was....

I'm betting that this fellow is highly intelligent. He hides it well through is appearance and use of language to the casual observer, but I can see how he would be a pretty sharp cookie at the tables.

excellent points, living in the casinos is not healthy or a natural existence. In his prime Lem spent as much time in the gym (or home gym) as he did in a sportsbook. the people i see on a daily basis in town that I have known over the last 15 years, (that are over 50) are mostly in bad health. it's sad actually.

Thanks for posting the videos, I have nothing negative to say about his diet, lifestyle, etc...I sure wish I was that good at poker that I didn't have to work at a normal job to make a living...happy for the guy hopefully he makes it big :0008

I've seen all of his videos and they go way back. He knows that his eating habits aren't the best and he knows he has to hit the gym. Over the years he has had gym memberships or did other forms of exercise but he slacks in those areas as many of us do.

He likes the life of playing poker so more power to him but I know I wouldn't be able to stand it after very long. He's very disciplined about his poker playing, he doesn't play any other game in the casinos. No table games, no sports gambling and no slots or VP. He doesn't smoke anything and doesn't do any drugs at all.

I don't think there's a very bright future ahead for him because at the limits he's playing I don't think it's possible to make much more than $20K-$25K a year. I know it's not. Eventually he's gonna have to step up a level or two if he wants to get his own place, pay his taxes, save some money, and enjoy some other things in life. If he ever gets to the $10/$20 NLH and higher he's going to be playing with the best and who knows if he can beat those games. They are tough!

Right now he's doing what he wants to do, so good for him. But....he better start thinking of his future some time pretty soon because time goes by quickly.

nice points jack. There is nothing like having a passion and living that life (poker, sports betting i.e) I agree totally. My hats off to him and anyone living their dreams. Just work in a salad and some exercise ;)

Fairly recently his workouts consisted of running up and down 6-8 flights of stairs in some parking garage until his legs went rubber on him. And, it appears that he does a lot of walking on a daily basis. I knows he gets more exercise than I do and probably 90% or more of the people reading this thread.

:0008

He doesn't beat me on salad consumption, I don't even think rabbits do.

Do you workout on a regular basis? I bet your condo association has a gym available for the residents?

Pretty much spot on Jackson Haven't watched the earlier movies In my not so humble opinion you have to be extremely intelligent to be successful at any form of risk analysis in our case gambling. Real estate stock market commodities all require way above average intelligence.... Trooper no doubt is intelligent because he is successful and he has the discipline to stick with what he does well. Discipline is a quality you must have. But sadly its the one the over whelming majority of people never master. How many people here wd be happy to for the rest of their wagering life go 4 - 1 5-2 3-1 2-1 every week for ever...probably Zero... There is always the question"" is that it ??"" yes thats it.....the trick is to discipline yourself to play on only those situations that are highly favorable...Volume eats you alive ...... like Cancer....... You also have to recognize what those situations are.. if you think that wagering on a team thats 1 - 12 in a situation..u are truly destined for disaster....you cant always explain why something happens but very often it happens for a while.....there is also the necessary ability to recognize when a streak is over. Education folks ... Takes 5 6 years for a masters... takes at least that long to master this..;. The line for doing that is almost Zero .....Thats why the abysmal failure rate. Class dismissed !!!!Prof Douche bag >>> Tenured !!!!!!!!!!.......... is going out fer Break fast.

sold that river home about 5 years ago, and bought a real nice bank owned home up in the hills and doing a complete renovation. I have 2 dogs, who keep me well exercised. Swimming in the river and hiking up in the hills.:mj23:

I also sweat my 'action' on a daily basis..;)

I watChed a few of these, and I think I played with this guy either at the Aria or Venetian once. I remember him being quiet and a nit if it is the same person.

There is no way I could play professionally. I actually think I have enough skill, but it's pretty boring to me, and you're always around a bunch of miserable old men and young punks. I often devolve into trying to beat a guy I can't stand and some guy laying in the weeds ends up stacking me. I guess that's why so many use the headphones Etc to keep from getting distracted. Lots of places let you use your phone at the table now, so The experience is actually getting worse.

These videos are entertaining though and enjoyable. Maybe next time I play I will play nitty and watch them all.

PS. Jack, read a little about PLO and play that instead of holdem when you come out. It's far more fun and "gamble-heavy" like you enjoy.
