i once read that "when a child is born he needs his father but when he grows old he needs his son". i am sure that your dad was very proud of you and that you were there for him.

Jack -

Very sad news - so sorry for your loss. Be strong in this difficult time, and know that many people are thinking of you and your father, and the difference he made in this world.

I never had the pleasure of meeting him, but from everything I have read on this board he was a good man, and you can be very proud to have called him your father. And no doubt, he was proud to have you as his son.

Peace to you.

MadJack, first off Thank You for having this site. You really get to know people on here and what they are about after reading their posts for the last 5 years. I'm very sorry for your loss. I lost my Mom(69) who was my best friend 8 years ago and every day it gets a little easier. It sounds like your Dad was one of your best freinds as well. Just remember all the good times you had w/him and cheerish THEM. My mom used to put a little on the Skins every so often when visiting my brother(roommate a bookie). So you know where I got it from. After a year or so maybe run some kind of benefit to honor his name. It really brings back some great memories. Good Luck and God bless in your loss.

Madjack..so sorry for your loss.I've said this before and it comes from a famos coach...your father must of set an example for his children...strong,and positive models of what to be and how to behave when growing up.Being a role model is the most powerful form of education.I'm sure your father was like that. His moral principles, values and ideals were probaly instilled in you. That is his imprint on you and your family.....again sorry for his loss.

so very sorry to hear of your loss jack, some of us are lucky to get great fathers, that certainly sounds to be the case with you. Although he will always be with you, may he now rest peacefully.

Sincerely
shamrock
