The US Department of State has confirmed they are looking into the disappearance of missing sportsbook owner Sean "Tony" Creighton.

Creighton is the founder and current owner of 5Dimes Sportsbook in San Pedro, Costa Rica. He has been missing since September 24.

Creigton, 43, started the sportsbook in 1999. He was raised in Bridgeport, West Virginia and owned a home in Morgantown, WV along with a former girlfriend up until two years ago. Both his mother and father have since passed away and Sean was an only child. The dad, who owned a handful of Giant Eagle supermarkets, passed away last year.
Creigton's wife claimed he was kidnapped and that she paid upwards of a $1 million ransom via Bitcoin.

The Costa Rica Star reported two weeks ago that his body had been found, however, the coroner's office claimed it was not in receipt of Creighton's body.

Now the US Government says it plans to get to the bottom of this matter.

David Payne Pardum of ESPN.com posted the following statement from the US state department spokesperson.

I didn't know "Tony" has a dog, well guess isn't that bad after all. And that looks like Zurich Switzerland, guess he's hiding out there now huh. Nice of him to not abandon his dog, nice move "Tony":0074

I wouldn't bother trying to play nice at this point Kick. Tony is alive, he's seen the thread, and he's coming for you.

Yeah, they're really concerned.

The only thing the DOS is worried about with this guy is his money. Gimme AF break.

This.

US embassies (and British ones for that matter) don't give a shit about their citizens abroad. Only if you have some political clout snd can make a fuss will they ever get off their asses for you and me.

Its really true of every country. The embassy network exists to further the interests of the state in that country, not individual people. When individuals in foreign countries have problems and ask the embassy for assistance they are regarded as pains in the ass and ignored completely if possible.

This statement from the DOS is the usual political self-serving claptrap. They could not give a shit about any of us on foreign soil.

As for Tony, I said earlier in this thread that we need to see the body before we even know he is dead. That is a real giveaway here. How does anyone know he is dead if we don't have a body? Until that time we should consider he is alive. Under what circumstances I have no idea. but he is alive.

Habeas Corpus......produce the body.

"Police in Spain and Costa Rica have arrested 12 people they believe to be responsible for the kidnapping last September of 5Dimes sports book owner William Sean Creighton, better known to his customers as ?5Dimes Tony.?

Five individuals were convicted to six months of preventive confinement - the convicted are main suspects' uncle and grandmother, Vega Aguirre and Aguirre Leal, as well as Martinez Chacon, Sanabria Abarca and Ford Dowman.

"It appears that the mastermind behind the kidnapping was 25-year-old Costa Rican, Morales Vega, which was one of the wrongdoers caught in Zaragoza, along with his 45-year-old mother and 24-year-old wife"

"Medrano Vargas and Jir?n L?pez are former transit police who created a false traffic stop of Creighton as he drove his Porsche Cayenne, pulling him over after he had dropped off a 5Dimes employee at his home. Four other men, presumably among those charged as accomplices, then conducted the actual kidnap. Creighton?s expensive car was crashed and abandoned at a separate location not close to where the kidnapping occurred."

"The whereabouts of Creighton ? an American ex-pat living and working in Costa Rica ? remain unknown"
