Thursday afternoon plays:

Louisville FH Un 62.5
Florida State FH Un 61
Kansas FH Un 66.5

ML Parlays for the day

Nova/LSU/L-ville/Auburn - +285
Florida/Seton Hall/Belmont - +1155

I am going to closely monitor the FH Under plays. I was more selective than in past years so we will see how it plays out. I doubt I will be able to post halftime plays, but I will make some depending on how the FH plays go.

As far as the Maryland game goes I have went back and forth on how to play it. Despite how bad Maryland played at the end of the year, I do think they match up well with Belmont, but Maryland's typical slow starts, especially after time off, have me very worried about the start. Belmont is very efficient on offense, so if you fall behind to them early, you are in trouble. Anthony Cowan has a lot to prove in this game. Not sure he has played a great full 40 minutes all year long. Maryland wins when he plays well, but he simply has not performed well in big games and I am not willing to bet he does today. As such,

Belmont +145

Bason--I am NOT being critical here AT ALL, and I VERY much have appreciated your insight on Maryland games throughout the season, but I could swear I saw (whether it was in this thead or your Maryland thread) you said you were NOT going to play Belmont. Did I mis-read that ? Thanks.

Nope, you are right, I said that after the Temple game. However, I changed my mind after thinking about it more.

It is not a high confidence play and maybe I should not have posted it at all and just watched, but I just can not get past Maryland's recent play and slow starts. I do think MD is the more talented team, I simply do not trust them.

Apologize for the confusion.

I ALWAYS ENJOY YOUR THREAD. I WAS A LITTLE YOUNGER BUT PLAYED AT SAME HIGH SCHOOL AS JEFF ADKINS SO WE HAD A LINK TO MARYLAND BASKETBALL. I USE TO DO LEFTYS CAMP IN COLLEGE PARK EVEN AFTER HE LEFT FOR JMU...HE IS A NUTT. SPENT A FEW LATE NIGHTS AT THE VOUS WHICH MADE 7:30 WHISTLES, BOUNCING BALLS AND SCREAMING KIDS A CHALLENGE 😀

I AGREE WITH YOU ON THE MICH COACH, HE IS SOLID. THE ONE THING I HAVE NOTICED ABOUT THE LAST 2 GAMES WITH MICH ST IS THAT THIS MICH TEAM SEEMS TO HAVE SOME INDIVIDUALS THAT WANT THE SPOTLIGHT ON THEM FOR SOME ?ME TIME ON TV?. BOTH GAMES THEY WERE ABLE TO GET DOUBLE DIGIT LEADS BY PLAYING TEAM DEF, CREATING TURNOVERS AND ONE AND DONE TRIPS BY HITTING THE DEF BOARDS. THEY APPEAR TO GET COMFORTABLE AND THE INDIVIDUALS TAKE OVER AND MOVE AWAY FROM THEIR HALF COURT OFFENSE WITH A LOT OF DRIBBLING ONE ON ONE BASKETBALL AND THEY GET DISCOMBOBULATED AND CANT FLICK THE SWITCH BACK ON....MICH ST IS A TEAM THAT IS GOING TO FIGHT UNTIL THE END AND YOU MUST STEP ON THEIR THROAT AND KEEP IT THERE OR THEY WILL KEEP FIGHTING BACK UNTIL THE NEXT THING YOU KNOW YOU ARE THE ONE KNOCKED ON YOUR ASS FOR THE 10 COUNT....JUST MY OPINION

GOOD LUCK AND KEEP POSTING ENJOYABLE READS :0008

Great point LP. Thought the same thing with the big kid from Michigan?s celebrations early in about getting paid. But I also think that?s coaching. Act like you been there. Good luck LP!

You were pretty good on picking Maryland first half bets. Are you now going against Maryland in this tilt?

Belmont first half possibly? Belmont shouldn't be too tired and might have already got the nerves out of their system.

I'll try this again....

Thanks

Sorry Dogs, I just saw this. I did not play the FH. I am watching and will see if their is a second half play. Just want to get a feel for how they come out and play this one. So far, going slow as expected.

I will spare everyone the rant, but same old Maryland.

No need for me to play the second half as I think I already have a winner with the Belmont ML. Tough to take MD as they just can not score with them.

I took MD -3.5 minus-05 small... for same amount I have Belmont +3.5 minus-05, so I've got a middle going for about an average size play for me.

Think the shooting can improve for MD and the advantage on the boards should help as well.

Dogs are barking big time!!

Evening Session

Nevada FH Un 62
Nova FH Un 59
Syracuse FH Un 60

Wrestled with ODU at 58.5 as they play at a snails pace and are the second lowest FH scoring team in the nation, but Purdue is a big step up from their conference so they could dictate pace.

MD gutted it out in the second half despite an awful game from Cowan. Man, if he could put a game together MD can beat LSU and come back to DC. I definitely over thought this game way too much. Horrible last possession by Belmont certainly helped.

Parlays were for shit, so will add the remaining teams

Nova/Florida/Seton Hall - +675

Made a couple poor decisions yesterday. Results were not good and need to do better today.

Afternoon Session

UC Irvine +5.5 -125 - I liked this game from the beginning. Irvine can play. They are 10-1 ATS in their last 11. K State plays at a snails pace and may be without their best offensive player. They will struggle to score in this one. Will not be surprised at all if Irvine wins.

Cincinnati -4 -110 - Also have had this one earmarked since day 1. Every time I watch Iowa play I wonder how they even made the tournament. They made it because of home cooking. They did not beat a tournament team on the road. They were 2-8 to finish the year with only wins over Illinois and Indiana at home. They are only in because of miracle wins over Northwestern and Rutgers!! I simply do not think they are very good. This game is in Columbus which is a big advantage for Cincy who is better than a 7 seed. I think they win by 10+ in this one.

Irvine +175/Cincy -200 - +312

Adding

UVA FH-13.5
UVA -21.5

I usually stay away from these lines, but you have to think UVA comes out on fire in this game. They have waited a year for some redemption and I think they take it out on Gardner Webb. UVA is the number one scoring defense in the country at 55.1 ppg, which is an extremely impressive stat given their conference and schedule. I think GW is in some trouble today and expect a fast start by UVA.
