Not really. I don't even think the 5-man group bets are that popular - I've only given them some attention because of the overload from Simon Bold. As an alternative to 72-hole matchups, I don't like them and I can't see how they would generate much business. It's the old British bookie obsession with hiding the juice from the punter with a 3rd option

looka like Duval has WD - his three-ball is listed without him on the live scoring on pgatour.com

Geoff Ogilvy ain't gonna be happy....

Same for Chris Perry. He was supposed to be 1st out, but is not on the leaderboard. The PGA Tour tee-times page has asterisked him with the comment "Requested withdrawal unofficial". That had better mean he withdrew before teeing-off, he figures on a lot of my plays

Damn,
Had 30 units on Price ov Duval, when I heard about his wrist ( loved this matchup anyway ) and now zippo. Was worth a shot! If only he'd have teed off and then WD!

BTW,
Despite Dogs problem with interactives last weekend ( one case where calling them would have made a difference - I hate calling books normally ), I had to jump on Price @ $2 this week ( that's 49-1 ). It sometimes strikes me as unbelievable when they have players at 30-1 on futures but $2 on interactives or 18-1 and $3, makes no sense. I also like the idea of selling off at "some" profit even if they don't win outright!

1st round results 1-1
Hoch/Huston win by 8
Durant/Faxon loss by 1
Faxon goes into 17 and 18 1down and birdies both.If you know those holes you know the odds of that happening.

72 hole standings
Monty/Garcia 2 up
Calc/Monty 3 down
Calc/Flesch 4down
Toms/Lickliter 2 up
Durant/Faxon 1 down
No lead is safe here. Will be huge swings daily.

Parlay and combo
Parlay matches split
3ball combo went down to last hole of last match which Sluman parred and Henninger birdied for a loss.No big disappointment though, would have been peanut payoff as Perry withdrew and Couples tied.

Ian interpetation of withdrawing due to stomach flu is,he chit his pants enroute to 1st tee

1st round update: 2-2-0 and -1.42 units

Split the plays, but lost the two-unit play as Roberts slumped to four-over-par and lost by four to Campbell. Elsewhere, Durant beat Norman by two, Lickliter lost to Toms by two (DTB did try to warn me off this play
rolleyes.gif
) and Singh beat Mickelson by six. At least the 72-hole plays look encouraging: only Calc is behind, by 4 shots to Flesch. Sutton is tied with Flesch, while Sutton leads Durant by one, Furyk leads Weir by five, Verplank leads Cink by nine and Furyk leads Norman by three.

Perry's withdrawal voided a few plays, especially the group plays, but in remaining one Verplank leads his group by one with Norman and Cink looking to struggle to make the weekend. Outrights are generally encouraging with Verplank in 8th place and Price 12th though Love is only 37th.

Back early morning with 2nd round plays.
