I was in grad school at the u of iowa when Gill and Co were at Illinois.
Hawks weren’t quite as good those years as they were when BJ Armstrong, Kevin gamble and Ed Horton were playing.

Indeed. I was an undergrad from 83-87 at Iowa and I too, was a big fan of Roy marble. Got to know Brad Lohaus a little bit as we lived on the same dorm floor so he’s usually the first one I name when asked who my favorite Iowa Hawkeye men’s player is. Can’t go without a shout out to BJ Armstrong who besides being a fantastic player, he’s also one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet.
