5-Unit Play. Take #525 LaSalle (-4) over Penn (7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15)
The Explorers are not an awful team and they have been playing much better as of late. Oh, and Penn is awful. LaSalle?s last five losses have all come against teams in the top half of Div. I, with three coming as close defeats to Top 75 clubs. I think they have a score to settle with the Quakers, who have beaten them in five straight but don?t have nearly the talent that they?ve boasted the last few years. Penn hasn?t laced them up in 10 days and three of their five wins have come against teams ranked #316 to #339 (out of a possible #340). Their average margin of defeat ? excluding a 36-point loss at UNC ? is 21.9 points, and that includes a 15-point beat down at home against #336 Howard and a 30-point blowout at Florida Gulf Coast. I?m looking for LaSalle in a walk in this Big 5 rivalry game. LaSalle is 6-1 ATS in their last seven and 5-0 ATS on the road, while Penn is 6-20-2 ATS in its last 28 nonconference games and 0-7-1 ATS in its last eight against the A-10.

1-Unit Play. Take #528 Baylor (-6) over Oklahoma State (8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15)
Oklahoma State is a pathetic 2-12 ATS in its last 14 road games and 6-13-1 ATS in its last 20 conference games. They haven?t left Stillwater in a month and have played on the road just that once since before Thanksgiving. They are 0-4 on the road this season, losing by an average of 19 points per game. They aren?t going to get beat by 19 tonight but Baylor should be able to lay double digits on them.

1.5-Unit Play. Take #535 Nebraska (-2.5) over Colorado (9 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15)
This won?t exactly be a letdown spot for the Huskers since they were never in that game against Kansas. I think they?re going to want to cleanse themselves of that beating and will take it out on a weak Buffaloes squad. Colorado has not beaten a single decent team this year, with their best win coming over a young Air Force squad. Colorado?s margin of defeat is 14 points and they are 7-19 ATS at home. Nebraska has been a poor road team but they are 9-4 ATS after a double-digit home loss. They have also gone 5-2 ATS in this series.

1.5-Unit Play. Take #539 Kentucky (+9.5) over Mississippi State (9 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15)
Don't know if I trust any SEC team to be laying this much to another SEC team.

1-Unit Play. Take #533 Miami (+2) over Boston College (9 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15)
We?re catching a youthful Eagles team off a game in which they shot 66.1 percent from the field and rung up 112 points. I think they?re going to find the sledding a little tougher against the Hurricanes and their strong perimeter defense. All four of B.C.?s losses have come at home this year and I think this streaky team can be had.

4 Unit Play. #521 Take Creighton +1 over Northern Iowa (7:00 pm ESPN 2) After a tough start to the season, the Blue Jays are starting to put it together having won three straight games including a contest @ Wichita State last Saturday. The Panthers do not have much of a home court advantage playing @ McLeod Center, as they are just 6-3 in Cedar Falls this season. NIU is weak on offense scoring just over 60 points per game and shooting below 45% as a team. They will be lucky to get out of the fifties today since Creighton holds its opponents to just 62 points per game. The first team to sixty wins and that will be the visitor.

4 Unit Play. #528 Take Baylor -6 over Oklahoma State (8:00 pm ESPN Fullcourt) We used this same game as our Midwest Game of the Year last season and won with ease, as the Bears led by 19 points in that game and Ok State lost much of their firepower from last year?s squad. The Cowboys are 1-5 when playing away from Gallagher Iba Arena and Baylor will challenge for an NCAA Tournament bid this season. Baylor has great balance and they now believe they belong in the Big XII and will pull away late to win this game by double digits.

4 Unit Play. #538 Take Maryland -7 over Wake Forest (9:00 pm ESPN Fullcourt) The underachieving is over and Maryland will finally play up to its potential on Tuesday and thus record their first victory of the season. Wake Forest has been a bad road team all season long, winning just one of their five road affairs. A common opponent both teams played in a bad Charlotte team and Maryland dominated that game for 35 minutes and Wake lost straight-up to them. The Terrapins have won three of the last four meetings and will make it an even 80% this evening winning comfortably.

NCAA Basketball:

5 Unit Black Magic MWC Game of the Year on UNLV -1.5

UNLV is one of the best home teams in the nation. The Rebels are 9-2 at home this year and face a BYU team that has really struggled on the road. All 4 of BYU's losses have come away from home. BYU has lost 3 straight road games to this point. One of UNLV's home losses came against a very tough Arizona Wildcats team by just 3 points. UNLV will have no problem dismantling a much lesser BYU at home tonight. UNLV is 9-1 ATS off an upset loss by 10 points or more as a favorite since 1997. The Rebels bounce back in a big way tonight with this 90% winning ratio on their side. Cash in with UNLV as the favorite.

3 Unit Sharp Play on Boston College -2

Boston College will put the Miami Hurricanes in their place tonight. Miami has had a very weak schedule to this point and it's only going to hurt them now that they have reached ACC play. Boston College won their first SEC test on Saturday with a 39-point crushing of Wake Forest. Back-to-back home wins to start ACC play for the Golden Eagles can be expected tonight. Boston College is 14-5 ATS when the line is +3 to -3 over the last 3 seasons. Boston College is 15-4 ATS vs. teams who are called for 3+ less fouls/game than their opponents over the last 3 seasons. The Golden Eagles will win the free throw battle, thus winning this home game over Miami. Cash in with Boston College as the favorite.

NBA:

4 Unit NBA Shocker of the Week on New York Knicks +3

The Washington Wizards are in for a serious letdown tonight. Washington just beat the Boston Celtics on Saturday and then again last night to pull off two of the biggest upsets of the season. Now the public is all over Washington tonight and we will go the opposite way of these morons. The Knicks are coming off a 24-point home win over the Detroit Pistons on Sunday. We will play on the home teams where the line is +3 to -3 after a win by 10 points or more against opponent after a game where both teams scored 90 points or less. This is a 30-6 System with an 83% winning ratio over the last 5 seasons. Bet the Knicks as the underdog in a shocker.

Matchup: Chicago at Orlando

Play: Over (200.0-110)
Line Source: LEROYS

Both teams have been horrible lately defensively. Orlando has given up 108 points per game in their last five while Chicago has given up 103 PPG during the same span. The Magic average 102 PPG at home this season and we think they set the pace for a high-scoring affair. Six out of the last seven games overall for the Bulls have gone over while Orlando has gone over the posted number in three of their last four. The over is also 7-1 in the last eight meetings here in Orlando.
