Boehner vows to repeal Obama healthcare reforms

WASHINGTON | Wed Nov 3, 2010 12:16pm EDT

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Representative John Boehner, expected to be named the next speaker of the House of Representatives, vowed on Wednesday to repeal health care reforms pushed into law by the Obama administration.

"I believe that the healthcare bill that was enacted by the current Congress will kill jobs in America, ruin the best healthcare system in the world, and bankrupt our country," Boehner, an Ohio Republican, told a news conference. "That means we have to do everything we can to try to repeal this bill and replace it with common sense reforms to bring down the cost of health care.

...................................................................

Boener just wants to get in the position of speaker. He aint going to do chit. He knows, you know it, I know it. Its just more rhetoric that goes on and fawking on.

The best healthcare system in the world!!! As long as you don?t measure by standards such as number of people with access to health care, quality of health care available, average life expectancy, obesity rates, cost of basic health care, etc?

Gotta love that blatantly untrue propaganda!

Not having health care is the true ?death panel?.
But that seems to be the will of the people.
We are all just one uncovered illness, or pre-existing condition away from losing our homes and being destitute.

Unless you are a millionaire, you have no excuse for siding with these assholes.

I have to disagree.

Increased taxation of interest and dividends hurts my bottom line, and I doubt that I am worth 7 figures. I agree with Obama, however, that Bush tax cuts should be extended for families earning less than 250K and single filers under 200K.

The estate tax's 1 million exemption is also something that I am opposed to. I would like the exemption at 3-5 million range. My family have not worked as hard/smart as they have, and I do not work as hard/smart as I do, for my children's inheritance to be dispersed at the whim of a bunch of politicians- who you and I both know are corrupt and self-serving.

Cmon Trampled get with it. The working people of this country are sick and tired of the out of control spending and more government intrusion in our lives and the vote yesterday validated that. I know I know we are all dumb asses and You know whats best for us all. Now just spew some putrid names at me if it will make you feel better.

Trench - I realize that you are a bleeding liberal who desires the US to turn into France.

But many of the folks in the US like the American System - in fact, after seeing the election map it is clear that the majority of America is conservative, with the liberal coasts being the outliers.

Just because folks don't agree with your liberal views doesn't make them "assholes" to use your term. Just as liberals aren't "assholes" - they just have a different point of view.

Have a good day!
Not sure why you're addressing me while responding to Tramp's post...

Be that as it may... Although I've never had the pleasure of traveling to France, I know it to be a beautiful country.

Why do you Republicans always find it necessary to trash other countries in order to build up the U.S.?

Wrong again, Mags. It turns out that the majority of Americans are gullible idiots who will forever get sucked into the three card Monte being run by most politicians. Watching Rand Paul run for office is like watching the carnie hustler empty the pockets of the rubes. They get taken by the short con and never even know what happened to them.

Being liberal or conservative doesn't make you an asshole. Being an intentionally ignorant asshole makes you an asshole.

Well, maybe I generalized by saying "you Republicans" but it does seem to be a common meme of the right, particularly when referring to European countries, does it not?

Sure, but I've assumed that euro bashing (mainly France-bashing) from the right was more related to the difference in core political beliefs than low self esteem.

Personally, I find the snobby European just as, if not more offensive than the ugly American. But in all honesty, I've never equated the need of so many to assert the "We're #1" mentality with low self-esteem. I don't really get where it comes from but I do know that I've always found it boorish and sophomoric.

You don't know me, but several around here do. Ask them if I am "uppity".

Regardless of how you feel about his political views, DTB is a good guy, and it is clear to anyone that counts that he is your intellectual superior.

Anyway, did you read the post to which I responded?

We decided we knew better than Russ Feingold. A dairy cow could have run against him and won.
Well, you got that part right Mags. Republicans would have voted for a dairy cow if it had an (R) behind it on the ballot.

I love how you righties like to inflate your ego by making all these sweeping statements about a mandate for change. Johnson's 1.1 million votes to Feingold's 1 million votes is hardly the landslide you've created in your fantasy world, so calm down Sparky.
