he was a division II national champion....
he doesn`t really have to out-wrestle lesnar...just have solid takedown defense....that`s what`s throwing me here....he`s plenty big and strong enough to give lesnar trouble taking him down...and his clinch offense(at least vs mir) was fairly solid...
but, lesnar`s stand -up is getting overlooked...it ain`t bad...he put randy and herring on their asses....
i want to see them standing fACE TO FACE...fight finder has carwin as the taller man,but i read that lesnar was taller when they stood next to one another in the ring after a fight....somebody may have had shoes on....
anybody that says they have this one pegged is a better man than me...
No, I agree that it won't be so much about wrestling in this fight. I was merely saying that Randy is such a great wrestler that that is probably why Lesnar had trouble keeping him down.
The question I'm asking is so simplistic it's bordering on stupid. It's not about technique, "ring rust," striking acumen, BJJ, Joe Rogan's receding hairline, or any of that. It's this... if/when Brock Lesnar gets on top of Carwin, how does Carwin physically get Brock off of him? Seriously, how does he do it? Have you seen how frigging wide that dude is??? I'm sure Mir didn't think he would get physically dominated on the ground like he did against Lesnar, but he did. Once Lesnar was on top of him it was like a 15-year old kid laying on top of his 9-year old little brother. Little bro can kick and squirm all he wants, but he ain't going anywhere until moms or pops breaks it up.
I'm not saying it CAN'T be done, but it will be tough as hell. I REALLY hope Carwin knocks this dude's teeth down his throat, but I'm more than a little worried that Brock will get it to the ground and have his way from there.
