Record since start of 2009 36-25 +36.91 units

Opinions 3-4 +1.30(always .5 unit plays)

Lesnar -150 3units

Will add more if this drops but love it at 150 and don't see it going down much more than that. I really think Brock closes the distance as quickly as possible and doesn't mess with Carwin's power. If he can turn this into a wrestling match it won't be close. These two aren't on the same planet when it comes to wrestling. I expect Brock to wear him down on the ground and if he can't gnp Carwin out then it will be a 5 round bore fest with two very large over sized men.

The two best fighters Carwin has fought both has the stupid bug if you ask me. Mir thought he was Mr boxer after his fight with Nog but he should have know better. Gonzaga was looking good but as always he didn't think and had no heart. Brock has gotten the best game plans and people still couldn't do anything about him and his ability to impose his will on them.

Hopefully this will be a good fight but I have a feeling it's not going to be worth the money.

I made fun of and ridiculed Carrot Top for twenty years. Then I saw him once and he is funny.

On another more cogent note, how have long layoffs (Lesnar) produced in significant comeback bouts? And do you think a layoff it is tougher for the big guys than the smaller ones?

not good, for the most part...long layoffs are like wolfsbane...particularly when jumping back in vs elite competition..

long layoffs and putting on a ton of weight between fights....

in boxing, tarver hasn`t been quite the same after putting on weight for "rocky"...and roy jones never returned to form after fighting ruiz at heavyweight...

but back to the point...yeah,imo,long layoffs(particularly after being sick or injured) are not conducive to great comeback performances..and the nature of lesnar`s layoff.....that is one reason i may change my opinion on this fight....

lesnar should have taken a tune-up...

another interesting aspect to this fight....i watched mir/lesnar 2...and as would be expected, lesnar was cautious on the ground..he didn`t go apeshit on mir because of the submission threat...

i think that if lesnar gets carwin down,he`ll go balls to the wall...no sub threat here....and carwin has no real experience in mma being mauled by a man-mountain/freak like lesnar....he was bigger and stronger than gonzaga....,he won`t be here...

everybody knows lesnar wants carwin on the ground...and that carwin wants to stay vertical ...it`s gonna be interesting seeing who imposes their will..

GW, I think a lot of the layoff thing depends on who the guy is. I looked back at it but a lot of the guys that didn't come back well are fighters I don't consider the hardest workers. Rampage is a good example. He put on tons of BAD weight and IMO looked horrible before his fight vs Evans. Randy Couture on the other hand is a hard worker, didn't put on a lot of bad weight and looked great vs Big Tim.

In the last video I saw of Brock he looked incredible and work ethic has never been his problem. I would be worried about the layoff but I think he's one person that can overcome it.

The Carrot Top thing was mostly me just f'ing with Kick. But I will say this... watch Carrot Top sometime WITHOUT his props, then tell me if you think he's funny. There is a reason why 99% of comedians don't respect him -- because he just isn't very funny on his own and his material sucks. I've seen him on a few roasts and it was pretty brutal. Just my opinion though, I know some people like him.

Lesnar has no weight cut? I havent seen him lately but to come in with no weight cut seems contradictive to his style. Brock will always be a wrestler with ground and pound, wrestlers cut weight, its just what they do. Dont be surprised if Carwin actually comes in the bigger guy, not taller but thicker.

All that being said...my money will be on Lesnar but waiting to watch weigh ins because I don't know what the health issues did to Brock's physique

Adding

Tuchscherer +255 1unit

Was going to wait but don't see it going in my favor.

IMO this line isn't close to what it really should be. Tuchsherer came in with some pretty high hopes from the UFC. They thought enough of him that he got Gonzaga as his first fight and even though I don't think much of Gonzaga he is a tough first fight on the big stage. I don't hold the loss against Tuchscherer because we don't know if he ever recovered from the groin strike Gonzaga laid on him.

I think he'll but Schaub on his back early and often and lay his way to victory. I would like to put more on him but I'm waiting to see if I put anymore on Brock.

So Cal
Back to Carrot Top (don't ask me why). I had front row seats and I can tell you one thing that no one can debate. He is one disturbing looking individual.

That's why you're such an asset to the forum Weez-Dawg, you've got the inside information that nobody else could possibly know.

I've always felt you know a lot more about this Flacco character then you are letting on. Not exactly a coincidence you never see him and Jim Caviezel in the same place, is it? But I won't make you spill the beans on him... that could get you fitted for a pair of cement shoes. :SIB

getting off topic....ban coming

:mj07: My bad, I forgot again. I appreciate the warning though. You must hate having to moderate when I'm online. OT posts are my forte.

But to keep it on-topic, I will say that I think Lesnar is going to lay on Carwin and crush the life out of him. Kind of like watching a cardboard box in a baler. I hope I'm wrong because I can't stand that d-bag, but I don't like Carwin's chances.
