I'm with you on this one kick. I dont think Lesnar has fought anyone with this kind of knock out power. I really believe it will end up as a knock out in the first round, and Carwin will be 13-0 all knock outs ending in the first.
I gotta study up on the others, familiar with some of the fighters, but not their opponents.
It sucks cuz I'm gonna be hangin with friends that aren't into the ufc, so I gots to find some stream to watch the fight.

The same can be said of Carwin not facing anyone with the size and wrestling ability of Brock.

I think Akiyama hits hard enough to hurt Wandy badly so he better be carefull.

That is gonna be a good fight. Not sure what Weasey is talking about. Heck the guy beat Belcher which was a very close fight. That is pretty impressive for his first fight in the UFC. was a lot of buildup for the guy. I think he rolls Wandy in this one. The wandy that fought Bisping gets beat. Now does the second fight at 185 agree more with Wandy? That is the only thing holding me back from taking the dog in this battle.

If by saying Brock's wrestling ability you mean get on top of you and dry hump you then yes he has wrestling ability.
I have yet to see him execute anything of a wrestling nature other than taking someone down.
His ground game has zero wrestling to it whatsoever. His ability to position is only based on brute strength.
I am at a loss to predict the winner here.
Carwin has 1 quality win in his career(Mir). I would say 2 but Gonzaga was hardly of quality in how he fought in that one.
Brock has LONG lay off.

As far as the chin issue- Yes we dont really know the quality of Carwin's chim but against Brock that will not matter as Brock will not stand and trade and we have yet to see him KO someone standing.
If Carwin connects then Brock's chin will not matter because it will be all over. I can tell you Lesnar has no better chin than anyone else who have faced Carwin.

Tough to call. I will wait and if Carwin odds go up then I will play him.

i think in one of the most ultimate dick moves in MMA has to be Coulture training with Lesnar. Unless he called Carwin and asked if he didn't mind this has to be disturbing to Carwin who help train Coulture against Lesnar. Talk about a dick move.

What else do you want to see from him as far as wrestling goes. Herring couldn't move once he was down. The second fight against Mir he didn't do a lot but I'm assuming this was to limit his exposure to sub attempts. Against Randy he showed some really nice wrestling.

Brock may not have KO'd anyone standing but he what he did to both Mir and Herrin's faces was as good as a ko to me.

You can't say his chin is not better than anyone else Carwin has faced. Nobody has made him budge when they hit him. Randy got some pretty good shots in and it didn't make Brock budge. He's an absolute freak of nature so him having a great chin woudn't be out of the questino, IMO.

I'm not sure when my avatar bet is up with The Thong but I'll lay another one on the line in this fight if anyone wants. :box2:

Lesnar is going to crush Carwin. I HATE Lesnar but this won't be close. He's going to take Carwin down and pound on him. There will be nothing Carwin can do. These two aren't on the same planet when it comes to wrestling and it will show.

Agreed. Was licking my chops when the lines came out and Lesnar was only -190. line is dropping like an anchor and I will wait to pull the trigger. Hoping to get less than -150, but my wager will be to win 10 units regardless of what line I get.
And Lesnar is the biggest POS that has ever fought in any MMA event, ever.

I am all over sexy at +150.

The Bisping fight screamed that Wand is finished in my opinion. The old Silva would have killed Bisping in 30 seconds.
I think he has become gun-shy and was much better when he threw caution to the wind in kill or be killed mode.

The only reason I am not betting huge on this is because Wand has made a career out of killing the Japanese.

I agree with everyone on Akiyama. For the price he's a GREAT play but Wandy is hard to bet against because you know at any moment he could KO the guy.

Who's to say Wandy is done. He had a very close fight and could have won against Ace, his other fights he lost are really a who's who in fighting. Akiyama hasn't faced that kind of competition in his whole career.

I honestly think this fight is 50/50 and you get money coming back with Sexy so he's the bet. My problem is a like taking fighters I think have a better than 50% chance of winning whether they're favored or dogs.

Wanderlei Silva Out of UFC 116 Bout with Yoshihiro Akiyama

Wanderlei Silva, who was scheduled to face fellow middleweight Yoshihiro Akiyama at UFC 116 on July, has withdrawn from the card after suffering broken ribs in training, UFC President Dana White confirmed to MMA Fighting Tuesday afternoon.

According to White, Akiyama will remain on the UFC 116 fight card, with a search already underway to find a replacement opponent.

Silva (33-10-1) rebounded from back-to-back losses with a unanimous decision over Michael Bisping in his 185-pound debut in February. Akiyama (13-1) topped Alan Belcher by split decision in his UFC debut last July.

UFC 116 is headlined by the return of heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar vs. interim title-holder Shane Carwin, and also includes Chris Lytle vs. Matt Brown, Stephan Bonnar vs. Krzysztof Soszynski, and Kurt Pellegrino vs. George Sotiropoulos

if those are the 4 main event fights, dana should be paying fans to watch it...not the other way around...

lytle and brown?.....who gives a shit?...bonnar vs anybody?...

they don`t belong on a main card....

good lord...with all those fighters under contract, these are the best supporting bouts they can put together?...

dana`s doing what they do in boxing nowadays.......they have two brutes that they know the fanboys are hot to see,so they suport it with horseshit fringe fighters that will be cheap...guys who only their mother`s give a damn about....

if i can`t find it on the net,i`ll stick with the play by play...we do it every other time with undercard bouts...and that`s what at least 2 of these are...
