Can't believe Weepaul didn't ride with me with Story.
I mentioned in an early post that I had a hail Mary Parlay.

My Hail Mary parlay was Hallman and Story BUT I also had Almeida in the fukin mix

My instincts are shit hot on underdogs and complete shit on favourites.
I pull the trigger BIG TIME on guys like Almeida and Dos Anjos, then bet small on underdogs like Hallman and Story.

This is costing me BIG TIME :scared

I lost every single UFC bet this weekend and also lost every boxing match (which is usually my Bread and Butter) I bet

I am still ahead for the year but I won't be betting HUGE on UFC until October.

I will have one BIG bet for the next UFC fight night but again, it's on a favourite

:toast: :toast:

I played Almeida because:

1. He was bigger and younger
2. He subbed Marquardt
3. He looked good his last few fights
4. Hughes looked like shit against Renzo
5. It was a revenge fight for Almeida, a Gracie student
6. He was SUPPOSED to have great ground game

Obviously none of this mattered, because he sucks and the pick was shit
:0074 :mj07:

no disgrace in your logic,g.k....the guy had NEVER been subbed...he consistently placed in the top 4 in the abu dhabi grappling tourneys(fighting monsters like josh barnett/rocardo arona/rick migliarese/jacare souza).....

4 time brazilian national champ....

ADCC World Submission Wrestling Championships
ADCC 2003 88?98 kg: 4th place
ADCC 2001 88?98 kg: 2nd place Openweight: 4th place
ADCC 2000 Openweight: 3rd place
ADCC 1999 88?98 kg: 3rd place
ADCC 1998 88?98 kg: 2nd place
CBJJ Pan American Championships
1999 Brown Belt pesado: 1st Place
CBJJ Brazilian Championships

he went 3 with a much better striker than hughes(cote).....

i watched it over again and i`m cionvinced there was a bit of luck involved in hughes` win....don`t get me wrong, hughes won fair and square....i just think almeida got clipped pulling out by what looked like a half hearted left hook...it was almost flukey....

but it landed right on the button...and that stunned almeida enough fot hughes to take advantage...

up until that point,i thought that, although there was no real damage done, almeida was controlling the action....

it happens....imo,keep hughes in mind as a go against if he steps up in competition....

What i said about Almedia was purely based off his last two fights. I had no idea about his former track record. Now i see why the guys all liked him. Usually i go back and research a guy but since i had those two fights in my pocket i didn't this time. Glad i didn't whoa.

Hughes says he is gonna put mma on the back burner and do a lot of hunting. He must have landed a lucky punch. i don't think his heart is still in this sport

i read on some site that silva was trying to set up the sub throughout the fight by punishing sonnen from his back throughout the fight....and he actually did an awful lot of damage from his back with those elbows....

did seem that sonnen kind of shrunk back from the strikes at the time that silva sunk that triangle....

One thing that will bite Silva in the ass is the almost blowjob he gave Sonnen after the fight. Bowing down to him for ten minutes was sad because Sonnen basically ignored it. the way Sonnen runs his mouth u can bet he will talk about this before the rematch. Silva talking about banged up ribs before the fight. Wonder if this was a problem or it was Sonnens speed and strength. Sonnens takedowns are as quick as GSP's.
By the way Weewee i just watched the Story fight. He just demolished Hazelet but boy does the kid stick his chin out there for someone to blast. Vicious body attack by Story. Almost like he didn't care if Hazelet punched hin in the face or not.

Maybe it's just me but I think the UFC has turned the corner after a pretty slow and dull period of fights. I think the one division that is killing them is the WW division, hopefully Shields is better than I think he is. I think one of the things that is really hurting the division is the dominance of GSP but also the fact that his fights have turned into some of the more boring championship fights.

The HW and LHW divisions are pretty awesome right now if you ask me. I don't need championship fights in those divisions because they have enough top guys right now. My big worry for the LHW division is that Bones Jones is going to dominate it for a long time once he's ready.
