Great night guys. I enjoyed the fights both betting and viewing. It seems like we've gotten back to some more entertaining cards after a little dry spell.(IMO)

Sorry to the Sonnen backers, he deserved to win. I thought Silva would win by sub but not like that.

Roy has big BALLS and for that I have a lot of repect for him.

Oh yeah, I think there have been some of the all time funniest post in this thread tonight. You guys have my stomach hurting from laughing so much.(could be the beer)

The funny thing is Sonnen is the idiot... His corner was screaming that there was about fourty five seconds left all he had to do is jump off Silvan and do cart wheels or jumping jacks around the octagon and he would have won the title. His problem was he didn't respect the black belt Silva won from the Noguiera (SP?) brothers.

No WAY Sonnen DESERVED to win. He tapped.
You tap. You lose.

That was the best $100 bucks that I have ever lost.Great fight.

P.S. You do know that Silva won right bud???

Dumbest post ever by a long shot!!!!!!

You're a funny guy, I'll give you that. If you had bet on Silva you wouldn't have had a problem with my post, but because you had Sonnen and he blew what should have been an easy victory, you got all pissy about it. Like I said, sorry you lost your bet.

In all honesty he had no reason to respect Silva's ground game to much up until he got caught. Silva didn;t really do anything off his back except eat punches the whole fight. he did still have to respect Silva standing though Silva had hurt him pretty bad at the beginning of round 4.

At work and couldn't watch the fights. What happened to my man dos Anjos? Wiki says tko broken jaw?? Did guida hump his face and break it with his cup?? What happened?

Which fights shod I try catch in the am on mmashare?

Well to Guida's credit he came to fight tonight both on the feet and and the ground.

The fight that I would say to check out is Struve.
It flipped quicker than the Silva/Sonnen fight.

"the bunker"
an utter disgrace that dos santos(and particularly nelson) didn`t earn bonuses.....

i found that fight 10 times more compelling than the silva/sonnen hugfest....

i got up and went for a beer and took a piss during sonnen/silva....i didn`t budge from the couch during big country/dos santos....

i get that the finish was the stuff from which legends are made...but c`mon...throw big country and dos santos 30 grand each....

that was a death match...

Yeah I commented on that earlier..........Hughes is washed up and isn't close to being in top 10. And Almeida makes him look like GSP....pathetic performance from Almeida:nono:

(oh and he cost me a big parlay payout)

Can't believe Weepaul didn't ride with me with Story. Have to agree with Glen on some of the things Silva was doing. Almost like he was told to play with Sonnen. Letting him punch him in the face in the first round with his hands down was as bizare as it gets. Almost like he was throwing the fight  then sitting there laying on the ground not attemptin anything until the very end was nuts. It is what it is. Sonnen showed everyone just how strong he is. I would hate to have to get that sucker off of my back. Missed the Hughes fight. I know i think Hughes is on his way out and lacks heart but that still wasn't a reason to take Almedia. Couldn't believe the love he was getting on this site. Passed on that fight. Kick u would be proud of me cause i did take Dos Santos for a few bucks. Nelson did what i thought he would. Fight tough and just come up a little short. Dos Santos finally fought someone a little tough. U and Bucks had Nelson out in the first round :142smilie

I played Almeida because:

1. He was bigger and younger
2. He subbed Marquardt
3. He looked good his last few fights
4. Hughes looked like shit against Renzo
5. It was a revenge fight for Almeida, a Gracie student
6. He was SUPPOSED to have great ground game

Obviously none of this mattered, because he sucks and the pick was shit

Hughes is washed up.
Would have been nice to see Ricardo try 1 takedown.
I knew he was in trouble when he was just standing and trading with Hughes.
Alves he is not.

Maybe Hughes can fight Superman again now that he won as well and we can see if Hughes will last more than 20 seconds.

I thought Almeida was winning the round, and I wasn't that worried when he got rocked because:

1. it seemed like a pretty weak shot
2. He's supposedly THE MAN on the ground

I figured he would just ride out the round, and have a good chance to catch up the last 2 rounds

when he started to go limp, I was thinking "ARE YOU FUKING SERIOUS?"

It was a VERY PISS POOR performance
credit to Hughes backers

Almeida's a bitch

It was a very odd fight, to say the least. I've been trying to think just what the fug Silva was doing in that fight, and I think it's one of these things:

1) He's used to dominating his fights and winning easily, so when things weren't going his way he basically turned into a little kid who wasn't getting his way and started pouting. As I said last night, it looked like he didn't even want to be out there most of that fight.

2) He didn't want to give Sonnen the satisfaction of letting him know he's a legit contender. After all the trash talk by Sonnen, I think Anderson wanted to go into that fight with a "Who the fug are you to make me worry?" attitude. We saw it in the weigh-in where he wouldn't look at Sonnen and acted like he was irrelevant. Then in the first round when he let Sonnen punch him in the face repeatedly without trying to block, almost as if saying "You're weak, you can't hurt me even if I give you free shots." Then the rest of the fight when he let Sonnen tee off on him while he was on his back. He clearly didn't want to show Sonnen any respect since Sonnen had disrespected him leading up to the fight.

3) Maybe Silva just has horrible focus? I dunno, but there were a couple of times in that fight where Silva looked like Silva, taking the fight to Sonnen and getting him in trouble. Unfortunately for him, that usually lasted about 20 or 30 seconds, then he went back to being Sonnen's punching bag.

I've seen Silva fight lackadaisical before, but never anything like last night. I could never put money on him after seeing that fight. I severely doubt the guy's heart now.

I don't take anything away from Sonnen -- he fought his ass off and clearly wanted that fight more than Silva did. But considering he's on the most intelligent fighters in MMA, it was inexcusable for him to get submitted at the end like that. Especially against a guy who really didn't seem to care whether he won or lost.
