the article that pushed me over the edge to take osipczak...and causing me to have a losing night....
http://www.ufc.com/news/Nick-Osipczak-Born-to-Thrill
don`t believe what you read...watch the film for yourself(if you can find it)...
GW, the same thing happens to me with this forum. I try to decide what I like before I ever start looking at the threads because I've found myself swayed into liking a fight because of opinions on here instead of my own. Another thing that happens is that because of my own debating on here I end up taking a fighter for more money than I intended to.
i don`t blame anybody for my decisions...i was swayed by the fact that osipczak said exactly what i would have wanted to hear....he knew that the wrestling was an issue and that he was working his ass off to stuff takedowns....he was aware of what soto wanted to do and was ready for it...
obviously,he wasn`t ready enough...
a pattern has emerged...british strikers(excellent fighters, don`t get me wrong)....do not fair all that well outside of britain vs guys with a wrestling base..kelly vs volkmann...winner vs lentz...osipczak vs soto...actually,bisping should have lost vs hammill(even though wrestling was only part of the equation in that fight...and it took place in the u.k.)...
the latter 2 being problematic because i believe that winner and osipczak are the better all around fighters....
hard lessons..
Didn't get to see the fights as something came up, and today is actually the first chance I've had to look at some of the comments. Just wanted to give props to Mr. Gray on his Edgar call. I didn't have money on any of the fights, but I really thought Penn would take care of business and it looks like I couldn't have been more wrong.
Also, I ended up going 1-2 and all of my picks were faves. :142smilie At least I'm smart enough to know I have no business putting real money on these fights.
