you really think condit is some sort of joke?.....i really don`t understand why...anybody that goes tooth and nail with mcdonald/kampmann and ellenberger(winning 2 out of 3 in vicious battles) and has finished 24 opponents out of his 25 wins has to be taken seriously,imo....

matter of fact,i`m looking forward to hardy/condit as much as any mma fight in recent memory.....this one really piques my interest...

as a kneejerk reaction,i ltook +145 when it first opened....but i wasn`t thinking venue....and that`s an unforgivable mistake when capping a closely contested bout...

at a neutral venue,i`d feel compelled to take a real substantial shot with condit at +145....but this isn`t a neutral venue....far,far from it...

not foreseeing a hardy stoppage here...condit`s never been stopped short of a submission and that ain`t hardy`s game...and not seeing a condit decision....not in britain.....hardy`s stand-up and counterpucncing is better....i question whether a wispy condit has the strength and pure takedown/wrestling to get hardy down and keep him there...

you just know that hardy spent his whole camp sprawling getting ready for condit....but,i`ve been reading that hardy`s been wrestling and that he might take condit down and submit him.....

stupid...stupid...stupid....he tries getting cute and condit will sub him...if condit gets hardy in the same situations that st pierre did, hardy`s leaving the octagon without an arm...condit`s a killer...he `s not as benevolent as gsp...call me crazy, but i honestly believe that gsp didn`t have the heart to break hardy`s arm.....i can`t think of any other reason why a seasoned guy like st pierre didn`t snap hardy`s arm like a twig...wasn`t anything hardy did....he was dead meat....

condit has better submission skills than st pierre...or at least utilizes them more often and effectively...i think their records bear me out on this...submissions are a condit lynchpin...

of course,st pierre has possibly as large a skillset from which to win fights as maybe any other fighter in mma this side of silva and jon jones....wrestling,stand-up,kicks,punches...athleticism and strength....he`s like a ninja/gymnast...that may be why he doesn`t have more subs....he`s so dominant at several different aspects of the game,he doesn`t need to lean on any one skillset....maybe you could say gsp`s wrestling is his lynchpin...but he`s very good even in his weakest aspect...

i don`t give a shit about who has black belts.....that`s all subjective bullshit/mumbo-jumbo to me....there are plenty of blackbelts out there who`s jits doesn`t transfer to mma....

i only know what i`ve seen and condit`s submission game is top drawer,imo...

condit is tough as nails...as is hardy.....honestly,a stoppage(tko resulting from stand-up) would really surprise me....

not sure condit`s wrestling is good enough...not sure he`s strong enough to make any takedowns he gets stick....but,any time it`s on the ground, hardy`s in jeopardy,imo.....condit gets a neck or an arm, good luck danny...and condit will be dangerous for 15 minutes...great cardio...just ask mcdonald....

hardy has to be very careful with his striking...he has to strike while thinking about condit`s ground game...look at hardy`s ufc career...aside from st pierre, not exactly a murderer`s row of grapplers.....

that`s why i think condit inside and hardy by decision look most likely....

i`m seriously anxious to see this one...

The Book of GardenWeasel. Has to be your longest post at MJ that was not an apology or cut and paste job.

cut n` paste?...seldom for me....the info about gustafsson was(in the interest of getting more info for the board)...not sure he should be favored, though(given diabate`s stand-up and experience)....

this fight(hardy/condit) really grabs me.....for a pedestrian card, this one has a few really interesting match-ups...

Overall 41-27 +42.08 units

Condit +135 1unit

Only thing scaring me is that it's in Hardy's backyard. I love taking guys that have a chin and are superior on the ground vs strikers that have no ground game.

I'm really looking forward to this card, especially since it's free. I want to see what Hathaway has for this fight. He's a stud and I really like watching his fights. I'm hoping they give him a bigger fight after this one.(assuming he wins)

The next UFC might be my most anticipated ever so I can't wait for it to get here. I'm unloading on some fights.

Not sure i ever saw Condit in a boring fight. This fight is so much better than the top fight on the card. It is a joke that it is the 2nd billing. Im a big fan of the striking but Condit and his Ju Jit is as exciting as it gets. Never a lay and pray guy and always looking to finish. Those first two rounds with Kapman were about as good as it gets. I could watch him go five rounds without even throwing a punch.

i think our boy Kick should set up a new thread on fight day so it doesn't spoil it for the guys who want to catch it later. I would do it but i don't want to step on Kicks toes. He is the main man around here when it comes to setting up new threads. A pioneer in the post board industry. :SIB

I think we should always have a results thread separate from the betting/discussion thread. When I buy the PPV, I hate seeing the result of a fight that might get broadcast as a filler.

Is there any link about that? I have a lot of money tied on this fight. Very unfortunate.

Akiyama +177 .5unit

I actually think this is a very close fight when it comes to skills. My two worries are that it's in Bisping's backyard and the cardio factor. Akiyama was beat the crap out of Leban until the sub. 177 is pretty juicy so I'll take a shot.

I'm looking forward to these fights but mainly I'm wanting it to get by us so we can start talking about the next UFC.

i caught the weigh-in...and bisping looked like richard belzer....just terrible...that weight cut is killing the guy....

same for hathaway....these guys will be moving to higher weights in the near future...have em both in a parlay....

i`m not happy....

sheese i was thinking the same thing especially with Hathaway. Guy was a pound over and look like he couldn't lose another ounce. Pound over as if it was a championship fight.

I thought Hatherway and Bisping looked ok. I went back and checked JH's UFC 114 fight against Diego and he weighed in pretty much looking the same. I think as he gets older his 6"2 frame may struggle at 170 but for now he looks ok. I think he is just a strong dude but he is a different body type to Antony Johnson who is the same height but struggles greatly with his muscle mass.

Wilks looks quite a big bigger than Patrick

Still undecided on Diabate/ Gustafsson

Currently have 1 unit each on Bisping and Condit. 1.25 units on Queiroz. Have managed to talk myself out of Browne

bisping/hathaway parlay...little less than even odds...they`re the stars (along with hardy)....

despite their gaunt appearances,i`m hanging with the par...

but i am considering a hedge...maybe akiyama by k.o. at +871(ridiculous line given bisping`s propensity to get clipped)...and/or pyle via sub at +550(hathaway`s good but he`s still young...and pyle has a very dangerous sub game..19 wins/17 via sub).....i like hathaway here....but there is a bit of inexperience...trying to cover my ass...

not commiting...but thinking about flyers on gustafsson-110...and holst at +160(edit...forgot to put a holst wager in at brobury and unfortunately they took it down 20 minutes before the card started...my bad. )...and small hedge plays on condit +145/hardy via decision +145....better return with condit....

plays in progress.....cole konrad/hathaway parlay

jim wallhead/ben askren parlay.....

ben askren/eddie alvarez parlay....

still looking
.

The Akiyama and Pyle bets could be wise GW. Akiyama has some of the better striking at 185 and hits harder than Kang who knocked Bisping down. But he has to get Bisping to exchange with him or fall in to a trap like Henderson did or it will be Miller/Bisping over again

Pyle has I feel only one way to win. Armbar or triangle from the bottom so the sub bet is something to look at
