Maynard clearly won the fight. Which is why scoring fights round by round as a whole is fucking retarded.

4th round: Edgar 10-9
5th round: Maynard 10-9
Pretty easy to score actually
Once again, you're out of your mind. Maynard won two rounds. He dominated Rd1 and won Rd3. That's it.
how did he clearly win the fight? U want to win the belt then go for hit. He didn't win round five like a champion should. Belt stays where it should be. Franky won round five barely. close rounds go to the champion. Bully got bullied after round 1.

Looking quickly at message boards, the fifth round seems to be the real dispute....people seem to agree on the first four rounds

I thought Edgar won round 2, 4, and the rest was pretty easy.
As a whole, who won the fight? Maynard. Once again, scoring fights as a whole from round by round is fucking retarded.
Here's my take on Round 5: Edgar took an early advantage in the round with a couple of nice shots. The guys went back and forth a bit, but I think Edgar won the round (slightly) AFTER taking the early advantage. I don't think it is even debatable.

I always find it amazing how differently one sees a fight. I think the fight was a draw. If Edgar won I would have had no problem with that. If Maynard won I'd have no problem with that.

If you judge the fight as a whole, I give it to Maynard. If you use the scoring system that we are stuck with, it is a draw.
Same thing i saw. anything close in my book should go to the champion. The beauty of being the Champ. Maynard knew this was his big chance and he barely did anything in round five. Let him pout like Diaz did when he thought he beat Maynard
