as far as struve is concerned,he`s a 23 year old guy who started fighting when he was 17...a 6`11' beanpole who needs to add some strength and learn not to back straight up when someone comes forward....he needs work,no doubt....i`ve always said that....but,i don`t think you throw a 23 year old kid that has some all around talent under the bus this early in his career...particularly when you consider he`s been put in with quite a few very large fellows with considerable power early in his ufc career(dos santos/mccorkle/morecraft/nelson)....dana`s not doing him any favors.......i still don`t think he`s a chump..he`s not a contender,but he is a guy that comes to fight and either stops his opponent or gets stopped himself......

so i say,the ufc needs heavyweights that put on a show...that aren`t afraid to lay it on the line....maybe the kid will mature and learn to use his frame better at some point...or maybe not...but i`ll be surprised if he gets cut...


my only play on struve was a small itd play at +193...if you read my post and several posts prior on the issue,my large play on the fight was the itd prop.....seriously,between yourself and spongy,i don`t know who has more issues with reading comprehension...the bet was hardly a wallet buster considering all the other winners i posted last night...

The UFC threw these guys together so they can bang, Browne has had three fights in the UFC, each of them against a known striker (mcsweeny, kongo, now struve).

Browne is a very aggressive striker, he may appear wreckless but he is just trying to lure his opponent in (which will play a big part against struve). When he fought Kongo, kongo walked into a shot in the first and got rocked, then spent the rest of the fight running, holding, and grabbing browne's shorts.

You know browne is going to come out aggressive and I don't think struve has the luxury of running here (not that he would anyways). He knows his career is on thin ice right now. His last fight was on the undercard against mckorkel and he almost lost that against someone who shouldn't have never even been in the UFC. He knows he is expected to put on a show and bang, the UFC has been trying to hype this card as a KO fest, so you know there will be added pressure, or "incentives", or whatever you want to call it. And it's the lower paid guys like this who are more effected by it.

Struve has also gotten ktfo in the first minute by aggressive strikers with any type of skill (JDS and Roy Nelson both swarmed him). Struve is a bum, I don't see how he can engineer a KO against browne when he hasn't been able to KO cans like buentello :facepalm: . After struve gets ktfo he gonna piss himself like pisssssssssssssssssssssss

With that said, I'm still going to put a tiny sprinkle down on struve fastest KO, KOTN, even though I think the only chance he has is by sub or decision.

I like Stann here anyways, but the added angle of the whole military aspect makes it a stronger play, imo. The UFC has a large following within military (fight night for the troops ect...), so this memorial day weekend is big. The UFC obviously wants Stann to win, he was in the military himself, and has stated his motivation for this fight.

I was not at all impressed with Santiago's decision win over khalidov, they both looked like shit. The experience you get fighting in Japan (in a ring) is really no comparison to the UFC. Santiago was cut after he got ktfo by people like chris leben (who stann ktfo in the first round last fight) then went to Japan an fought against cans in a ring, so why should he be any better all of a sudden, in a cage no less?

I will go on record as saying that these two fights are the only ones that will end in KO/TKO.
