The whole point is there is no reason for Silva to fight Jones. He is the best ever even as an ancient old fighter. He has nothing at all to prove. GSP does. Hell, he hasnt even fought the best in his weight class (Thong knows). GSP moving up to fight at 185 should be easy. Silva doesn't need to fight any lighter or at a stupid catch weight. If GSP wants to be the best ever, he will do it. Silva is already the best ever. No reason for him to fight a man 15 years younger in the wrong weight class. He should give GSP a chance, and if he won't do it, bow out of the sport; it would be a perfect time and cement him as the best ever.

209 would fight GSP or Silva. That would be a hell of a fight that any true fan would love to see.

What has Silva proved? He cleaned out 185 and beat like Sonnen say's two cans at 205. I find it interesting that u think GSP will prove something if he moves up but Silva doesn't have to prove anything fighting Jones. How about if GSP moves to 185 and beats CB Dolloway and Tim Credur. Will this mean GSP doesn't have to prove anything either? Heck throw in Mayhem Miller also and make it three cans. Silva won't fight Jones because he loses every advantage he has at 185 against Jones. For years people made it like GSP was scared to fight Silva. Lets see Silva test himself now. Step up. Heck Hendo isn't scared of Jones and he is 41 for fuks sake..

GSP has been defeated in his weight class. Silva hasn't. Nothing to prove.

Why the fuk does Silva need to move up in weight class and fight a man 15 years his junior?? He should either retire as the best ever or fight GSP. Nothing else makes sense.

Forrest might not be great but he's no can. He's been in the cage with some of the best and held his own. Nobody made him look worse than Anderson did. If GSP moved up and fought someone that was the MW champ like Anderson did with Forrest then I would be happy. So Rich vs. GSP it is. I know where my money would go for that fight.

I knew someone would bring up Forrest but lets be honest. He caught lightning in a bottle beating an out of shape Shogun. He got a lucky decision against a one dimensionally Rampage. He has been basically awful his last few fights since the talent has gotten better (except a much smaller Franklin the catch weight champ). Jeez he can't even put away a washed up Tito who gasses after one round. When Forrest was at his best the division was at its worst. I doubt Rampage even took him seriously but that isn't Forrest fault. Forrest wouldn't beat the top ten possibly 15 guys at 205 right now.

Ali fought Frasier and Norton then went after Foreman the monster. That is testing yourself. Silva beat Sonnen and now is gonna go after Bisping :mj07: Why is Hendo going after Jones? He is older than Silva. Hendo is still hungry and wants to test himself. Silva is playing it safe and knows he doesn't have the speed, height, and reach advantage he loves to enjoy at 185. He has mad skils. Now go test them. Good thing the Miami Heat decided to play for the title instead of complaining that OkCity was younger.

DUDE, you brought up GSP moving up and fighting absolute crap fighters and then say Anderson beat crap ones. Look at the guys Dollaway and Cruder have LOST to but never beaten and you say GSP fighting them is like Anderson fighting someone like Forrest. Then you bring up Forrest got lucky against Shogun, Rampage, Rich and Tito. Those were all wins and look at the freaking names! He's not a STIFF but yeah Anderson made him look like one. He's in no way shape or form in the same conversation as Dollaway or Cruder. I don't even think you could bring somone up in the MW division that has had the wins that Forrest has had a LHW.

Lay i know when i said Forrest i would have a problem with that but honestly he came at the right time. He isn't winning anything anymore. He is nonathletic like Sonnen says and is a hard worker who relied on people gassing. Do you really think he could beat any of the top guys right now? This just shows how truly terrible the 205 division is. After the top five it is garbage. Rampage is so one deminsional which fit into Forrest style. He got the belt and lost it so fast it showed what a miracle (and gift decision) it was that he got it. Tito is terrible right now and gassed after one round. Usually he can last two. Forrest still couldn't do anything. The real Shogun fought him and absolutely destroyed him. Heck he lost to Jardine. To show how one dimension Rampage is, Jardine almost beat him. Off the top of my Head i think 205 has Machida, Shogun when he is motivated, Alexander Gustafsson, and Jones and not much more. Then u have all guys who on any giving night can beat their opponent or the other way around. So right now i would say CB has just as much of a chance winning the 170 title as Forrest has getting the 205 title.

Sponge, I have time and feel like debating today so I will again. This isn't about Forrest even though we're talking about him. We're talking about what Anderson has done and facing Forrest and destroying him was big. Forrest IMO if he's motivated would give any of the LHWs problems outside of Jones, who is unbeatable at this point. Hendo-yeah, I think if Forrest cared still he could be Hendo. Shogun-Well you know me, nobody can beat Shogun if he's healthy. Rashad-Hell yes he could beat him. Machida-It would be a close fight. Bader-I give the fight to Forrest. Rampage-Already have seen what happens.

Forrest doesn't care anymore and the last fight showed it.

If Anderson was a LHW he would be #2 and there's no ifs about it. Hendo is #2 and Anderson handed him his arse. Do I think Anderson could beat Jones? Hell no! I'm not sure anyone can and that includes JDS.

Now let's move GSP up to MW and have him face some guys. Sonnen-I would actually love to see the fight. I think GSP could work him over standing and doubt Sonne would get close enough to him. Belfort-I think he would knock GSP out pretty quickly. Munoz-Not sure because I'm not a big Munoz guy either way. Rich Franklin-This is the fight outside of Sonnen I would like to see. I think GSPs speed would give Rich fits but Rich is a good fighter and done well against some of the best. I think this fight is a toss up and either guy could win and I wouldn't be suprised.

Like I said earlier, at least Anderson tested himself and yes moving up and facing a guy like Forrest is testing himself. That fight is just like GSP moving up to face Rich. The problem is that GSP isn't willing to take that chance because if he loses then his legacy gets tarnished.

i don't think Forrest could beat any of those guys. Maybe Hendo cause the size advantage is huge but he would never finish him. Rashad is way to good of a boxer to let pitty pat Forrest beat him. He beat Rich simply with size. Styles make fights and Forrest style couldn't be any more perfect for Silva to have fought. A guy who never takes anyone down and can't break an egg with his hardest punch let alone being a slow athlete. All he has is endurance and some kicks and that doesn't work if u can't get out of the first round getting out punched and humiliated by a guy with skills.
