I actually agree with ya layinwood.........all top notch UFC fighters should be getting that kind of money per fight.

Zuffa is worth billions now, they can pay that kind of money, and they should.

Silva has already destroyed Rich twice, in 06 and 07. Not close matches at all. No way they want Rich to re-match him or cant imagine that has much appeal.

I know the fights well. I'm saying that there's a reason Rich is dropping back down so what is it? Is Anderson gone or what? Rich was doing well enough at LHW to stay there. Maybe they are bringing him back down just in case Sonnen won.

Your man love for GSP won't let you see clearly here. It's GSP or nothing. Nothing else matters. If GSP doesn't fight him, that's the ducking.

Oh yeah, 209!!

Six Five ur hate for GSP is about as blinding as KIcks love for him. Silva won't fight Jones for one reason and one only. He is afraid to get hurt or beat. He never had a problem moving up to 205 but it is a whole different ball game now with Jones holding the title. If there was no Jones and someone like Rampage was the champ u can bet Silva would go for the title. Kick, i can't believe someone like you would think Silva would destroy GSP at 185. GSP has the best take downs in the sport. His boxing has come a long way. The only thing Sonnen has on him prolly is better top control. I think GSP is also the smarter fighter and would game plan the fight ta death. As for Silva getting 8 mil. Silva was in a strong position for negotiating for that fight. You can't say they gave him eight mil and he decided to fight. He was in such a strong position they had to up the ante. Plus with Sonnen disrespecting him , this also helped Silva negotiating power.

Reason I say that Sponge is that Silva would outweigh GSP by like 100 pounds, GSP wouldn't be able to take him down and it would be all over for GSP. The weight difference would be too much. Bottom line, GSP wouldn't be able to use his wrestling and fight would be over quick. Now if it was at a catchweight then a different story.

I have stood next to Silva....he is massive, GSP is a small 170 pounder. If you saw GSP/Anderson stand next to one another in person you'd see what I am talking about. Bottom line the weight difference would be massive and Anderson would beat GSP in one round, 2 max.

And you are right, Anderson is ducking Jones, everybody knows it. If Jones beats Henderson, then the talk will start for Anderson to fight Jones, and Anderson will NOT oblidge, he'll do the same thing he did with Sonnen.

I have no idea what the "real numbers" are on any other fight, but I can tell you that Silva was around 8 million.

Oh and I can tell you for sure Sonnen made more then 50K.

You didn't seem to have a problem with GSP beating up on a smaller BJ and then talking trash about BJ.

There is a website and if I can find the article I'll throw up the link for it but it talks about the %s that each fighter cuts. GSP cuts a bigger % of his weight than Anderson does. GSP might not be the biggest WW but he's no "small" 170lb er. The difference with GSP is that he doesn't add the fat in between fights that a lot of fighters add and have to lose. He stays in tip top shape but he's still big even at that.

I still would love to see the fight mainly because I want to see GSP test himself. Fighting isn't just about never losing, it's about putting yourself in situations to see if you can succeed or not. GSP is the best WW and it's not close. Why keep fighting them? It's kind of like Jordan when he was on top except for the fact that there was nobody else he could play. For GSP there is better comptetion and ways to test himself. The same goes for anyone that domintates their division outside of the HW champ. IMO size dictates too much in the UFC.

BJ Penn quit like a little bitch.....and then accused GSP of cheating.

That is why I trashed that little crybaby Penn.

Oh and GSP is coming off a horrid injury so don't think he'll beat Condit easily. Nobody should be talking about GSP/Silva when you have GSP coming off a brutal injury.

layinwood.....if you stood next to Silva and GSP you wouldn't say what you said above. Trust me on that. I have stood right next to both of em, Silva is massive.

Sponge, I like GSP!!

Anybody who thinks Silva is ducking Bones has no clue. It's a lose lose for him. He is not scared. He should fight GSP or just retire as the best ever.

Sixfive likes GSP?

Ummmm..........I highly doubt that:poke

No, I really do. He's just a boring manhumper, but he's a great face for the sport and is a big reason for recent success. He will never be one of the greatest though with the list of stiffs he has been fighting.

Can someone help me understand this?
Why is Silva a pussy/punk/scared because he doesn't want to jump up a weight class to fight someone
and GSP is not called a pussy/punk/scared because he won't jump up a weight class to fight someone?

Nobody should be called a "pussy punk" for not jumping up a weight class.

But

Silva has fought at 205 more then once and is huge 185 pounder. Hence the difference. Some guys are small for their weight class and some are big for their weight class.

Hence, nobody would tell Edgar to fight at 170, he is a tiny 155 pounder.

Also, nobody should be talking about GSP moving up a weight class, he is coming off a horrible injury and may lose to Condit at 170.

Totally different story talking about Silva and GSP, hence...the difference.

But as I said nobody should be called a "pussy" for not taking fights out of their weight class. Ducking fights in your weight class is a different story.
