This is a great great night of fights.

Sanchez +112 2.5units

Tavares +146 1unit

Parlay
Liddell -311
Rua -331 risking 1 unit

I want to go more on Sanchez and Tavares but this is it for now. I'm not sure if any of you know of not but Diego has a staph infection going into the Kos fight. He actually failed a hep test(which is a normal thing if you have a staph and don't knwo it, it gives you a false positive for hep) and was going to announce his retirement. He didn't know he had a staph until after the fight. If you watch it again you can tell he was weaker than normal and not himself. I think he will dominate Fitch for all 3 rounds. Fitch was losing to Kos until he caught Kos in a sub, he won't be able to catch Diego.

Tavares is a riskier bet but for the price I think it's worth it. He's a stud and absolutely tooled Black who is a very good fighter. Should be a hell of a fight that I think will go to a decision and should be a toss up.

Once it's closer I may lay a straight bet on SHOGUNNNNNNN, but damn that's a high price.

layin.......ummm I think ya mean MINUS odds on the Chuck Liddell/Mauricio "Shogun" Rua parlay rather then PLUS odds :mj07:

those would be some amazing odds of they were both PLUS odds :scared

also...you may be correct with Diego but I hate that guy with a passion.....the guy is pure scum I would never ever put money on him...ever:nono:

Call me crazy, but there is no way I'd put money on such a massive fav like Mauricio "Shogun" Rua, anything can happen in the UFC....if GSP can lose to Serra then anyone can lose to anyone:scared

Nobody gives Forrest Griffin a chance, I will be on Griffin at the massive odds, sure he'll probably lose but for such a huge underdog price I'll take a shot on Forest:scared I will wait until just before the fight, I am sure more and more money will be coming in on Mauricio as time goes by. Better value if I wait until last minute to bet on Griffin:SIB

Also.....maybe it's just the voices in my head, but I have a funny feeling that Jardine may also pull off the huge upset  Something tells me that Chuck and Mauricio won't both win:scared

yes...I am probably crazy:mj07:

Kick, there is a small small small chance that Shogun loses but I'm telling you it's very small. What does Forrest have that can beat him? Shogun is a beast on the ground, his bjj and subs are awesome. Standing he's awesome as well with no weaknesses. Forrest won't want to be on the ground because that's not his game and he doesn't have ko power.

This is nothing but a tune up for Shogun and then the hype will start for him and Page. New Years eve show with Coutoure and Fedor as well and it will be the biggest UFC event ever. lol, I can always dream.

Nah, he's not being a prick. He's the best in the world he can ask for anything he wants. Although I will say the HW division is more up for grabs if he's not in it.

I have no problem with him wanting to fight in the Sambo fights for his country. I don't see why Dana would care, nobody knows or see those fights so it's not any competition.

Fedor needs to come to terms with the UFC if he wants to finish his career correctly. They don't need him. The UFC does great with or without Fedor. Fedor's career could end up a bit tarnished if he keeps fighting garbage. Yes Matt Linland was a garbage defense, the guy isn't even close to a heavyweight and not a heavyweight contender.

You're thinking of Fickett, not Fitch. Fitch and Koscheck are teammates. I'm siding with Fitch over Sanchez, he has superior standup and wrestling. I don't see how Sanchez could of beaten Koscheck even without the infection, he has poor standup and it was up to Koscheck where the fight was to unfold.

Also, I'm leaning towards Griffin over Rua. He's bigger and with his recent loss I suspect he's going to try and use a safe strategy like he did vs. Ramirez, such as keep his distance and use his superior boxing. Don't think his boxing is superior? Watch Rua vs. Nakamura, the latter had the better standup. And I don't see Rua being as successful in the thai clinch because he's so much shorter.

Ahh, nice call Muhr it was Fickett.

You suprsie me saying you'll be on Forrest. A lot of people are saying they like him. I like Forrest and all but he's nothing special as a fighter. They've given him cupcakes up until this point. Rua is only 2" shorter, I don't think that's enough to stop him from using his Thai clinch. I don't think Rua's boxing is better but I will say that he has better power in his punches than Forrest does.

THE ONLY THING that worries me about the fight is that it's his first in the cage.

ummmm.....layin.......I think ya have Forest mixed up with Bisping....Bisping has a "soft" record...Forest has fought a very very tough list of fighters...no way in hell Forest has fought "cupcakes":nono: :nono:

also...agree with MayorgaFan, UFC does not need Fedor...yes Fedor is good, but he's wayyyyy to cocky, and when was the last time the guy has fought...I mean come on Fedor...prove your the best...enough talk:nono:

Kick, no I'm talking about Forrest. His list of tough guys he's faught-Tito(washed up and off of knee surgery and still beat Forrest), Horn(not a bad loss ), Monson(to me this is an very impressive win) and Severn(how they faught I don't know but he did lose. All of those except for Ortiz where out of the UFC and everyone else he has been in the UFC cage with are all suspect.

Basically, besides Monson anytime he's been in the ring against better comp he's lost. Bonnar, Jardine, Ramirez, Elvis and Mahood could all kick my ass but come on they're nothing compared to who he could be fighting.

I'm not highly confident in my Griffin selection, but I agree, this being Rua's 1st fight in the cage adds to my choosing Griffin. For all I know Rua's well known aggression could get him inside with ease and he has shown that if he's having trouble standing, he'll quickly switch to the ground, such as against both Overeem and Diabate. So, knowing how dangerous Rua is I won't be betting much on Griffin. I'll add that the line isn't as appealing as it was. I tend to wait till after the weigh ins to bet so I can see the fighter's condition. If more people bet on Griffin as the fight approaches I'll just avoid it.

guess I am still on crack......but I still feel that one underdog will get the win in the Forest and Jardine fights, I just gotta a funny feeling both favs won't win.....but then again it could just be the crack habit

remember......the octagon is MUCH different then the ring....just ask Cro Crop

Forrest Griffin at $3.90 and Keith Jardine at $3.90...tempting very tempting:com:

and I hope to hell Diego Sanchez gets smoked...I hate that guy with a passion...what an a**hole that guy is:nono:

I think the upset is gonna be Jardine. Jardines last loss was to that animal and he had him hurt. I just don't like chucks boxing for some reason. I think Jardine is the better pure boxer. I couldn't lay that juice on chuck. I wouldn't even go 175. IN the Griffin fight i have to believe Coulture and Griffin are doing a huge amount of film work together trying to find Shoguns weaknesses. I think Randy is the best in the business at doing this. the problem i think tho is Forrest is one of those guys that gets hit and all that film work goes to waste and he will go back to brawling. I can't bet this fight because i never saw Shogun. Boy i hope he is better than his brother because his brother was terrible the other night.

So what are the chances that Liddel - Jardine goes the full 3 rounds? Seems very limited. That's a parlay booster for me.

Is there any area that Griffin excels in? Kind of reminds me of Bisping. Not a great standup, not a great ground game and if the opponent is exceptional in just one area, like Hamills freakish strength and wrestling, the opponents has a great shot. I think the -350 or so on Rua is justified. What's the big difference between the ring and the cage?

Punch i can't see it going all three. these guys main thing is swinging and big time swinging.

Griffin doesn't impress me but he is not bad either. His best assets is Randy in his ear. They train together.

To me the cage is a nice way of pinning someones head against it and smashing there face in cause they can't get away most times. Also last night a guy cheated and grab it which isn't allowed, but it saved him from getting broke in two. He lost a point but eventually won the fight. I think most fighters if they trained in the caged they would be able to adapt. Can't see what the big deal is. Some guys use the cage better then others. Lidell for instance seems to be able to get right back up using the cage against his back. I doubt if he could use the ropes like that.

some other differences from the cage and ring.....

-When fighting in the ring you can get "stood up" when you "fall out" of the ring. It can actually give a fighter a tiny breather and in some cases actually turn the tide of the fight. Cro Crop himself said this was a huge difference from the cage and the ring. No "breathers" in the octagon...I have never seen a guy "fall out" of the octagon before:142smilie

-Another aspect is in the octagon it is more difficult to "corner a guy off". Meaning if your in a ring you can cut a guy off (he trys to run away) much easier then in the octagon:SIB

Yes it may not be a HUGE difference fighting in the ring as opposed to the octagon, but I assure you of this, Rau will have a little bit of a wake up call when he steps into the octagon.

I think Chuck is a bad match up for Keith. Keith is a come forward kickboxer, whereas Chuck is a counterpuncher. Also, in his UFC career Keith has had bad defense and been knocked down by Rashad, Stephan, Wilson and Houston. Add onto that Chuck koing 9 of his last 12 opponents and it looks bad. Moreover, Keith has only one punching ko in the UFC, that being against Forrest, despite hitting quite a few of his opponents liberally. And Chuck despite also having bad defense has only been knocked down by one guy in the last 6 or so years, that being Quinton.

Keith does have good leg kicks, but Chuck, despite taking many lately appears unfazed by them. On the other hand Chuck also has good leg kicks and although he doesn't throw them often anymore, he would hurt Keith bad if he did as evidenced by Keith's fight with Wilson.

I think a lot of people are inappropriately letting Chuck's loss to Quinton color their view of this fight. I didn?t think Quinton would beat Chuck so quickly, but he?s a bad match up for him nonetheless. Chuck's a good outside puncher and does what he can to keep his opponent outside. Quinton is a good outside puncher who does nothing to keep his opponent on the outside. Chuck is durable and has horrible defense. Quinton is durable and has good defense and it is all the better if the punch is coming from the outside.
