i really believe that in some cases, if a guy has lousy stamina,he just has lousy stamina,period.....

he can train and train, but he still can`t hang with a guy that has naturally better stamina...

i mean, intelligence,to a certain degree, is basically limited in each person...hand and foot speed...

why not stamina?...some guys just aren`t gentically geared to be able to have staying power when physically stressed....

you can improve your stamina...but in comparison to some others competing in a world class event,it just isn`t there....like power or speed.....

weesy before the fight i was thinking of this same thing. You see the same thing with Tito. Big bear this, Big bear that. After three minutes he is winded. Same thing with that one guy Frank shamrock took apart a few months ago. He came in that fight in the best condition i ever saw him and bang three minutes out of gas.

yeah,buddy.....i`m surprised you seldom hear,"the guy just has lousy endurance",instead of,"he didn`t train properly" or whatever....

it`s completely logical...everybody`s physiologically different...some just stronger than others...

i`m sure there are instances of "lack of" or "poor" training habits.....but,i think in some cases,it is what it is...

How did Gonzaga lose, I refused to order this sorry card and the internet site I usually watch them on seems to be gone.

He was stopped in the second round. He started running out of gas and gave up mentally.

that was the kicker on my stout/taylor parlay going down the tubes...

apparently, taylor forgot that his opponent is allowed to plant his ass "in" the canvas and keep it there...

thank god penn used a shiv on stevenson`s forehead....

lol at the 'first and last' tennis bets, I feel for you Sponge and weepaul.

...you'll be back.... we always come back... lol

I only know boxing and slight MMA, but ive bet basketball, soccer, football, horse racing. I even bet a hockey game between Latvia and France, although I didn't know the name of a single guy on either roster.

Whenever someone poses a 'lock of the year' its so hard to turn it down. I win about 55-60% on those.

Its kind of funny in a way, betting on something you have absolutely no idea about, just for the hell of it.

GW, it's funny you bring up the stamina point. It's a simple thing to think about but I've never heard anyone say it before. It's kind of like long distance runners, we can all train for it but only some are good at it, same goes for sprinting.

I just watched the fight earlier and I didn't think BJ was gassed during the fight, after the fight he looked it but not during it. He put it to Joe the whole time. Saying that, he'll be going up against the king of cardio in Sherk so it will be a big test. I don't care what the line is on the fight, I have no idea which way I will go on it.

the long distance runner analogy is a good one...

yeah...you never hear anybody say that endurance can differ from individual to individual like any other aspect of one`s physical being....

whatever...i have to thank you,layin`...you pushed me over the top on penn...it`s one of the few times in my gambling career(career?..lol) that i`ve been willing to lay over -300.....

worked out well...probably do it again in another couple years...

thanks for the shove,buddy...i needed that...

I was pretty certain on the Werdum/Gonzaga fight. I just haven't been impressed with Gonzaga.

I am shocked at the down hill slide that Grove is in. I had high hopes for him after the show. I'm not sure if it's the team, weight class, or what.

Lambert showed us all why any puncher has a chance to win. He dominates the fight, and gets hit by 1 uppercut and is out.

Here are my fights I'm going to bet on...lets see how we do!!

Most confident I've been since the last Ultimate Fighter Finale.

BJ Penn ( Money Line 1.33 ) for Game
*win*
Fabricio Werdum ( Money Line 2.80 ) for Game
*win*
Kendall Grove ( Money Line 1.36 ) for Game
*loss*
Jason Lambert ( Money Line 2.15 ) for Game
*loss*
Sam Stout ( Money Line 1.38 ) for Game
*win*
Marcus Davis ( Money Line 1.33 ) for Game
*win*
Paul Taylor ( Money Line 1.45 ) for Game
*loss*

All my bets that I placed bigger wagers on won, the smaller wagers lost. Bummer!

I just rewatched that Gonaga/Werdum fight.

Does Gonzaga realize that there's more to MMA then leg kicks? He tried a countless amount of times to end the fight by the kick like he did against Cro Cop. Does he realize that those types of highlight kicks are more luck then skill and aren't gonna keep happening? He tried the same against Couture. Couture and Werdum just phased him out and tired him out, then put the knife in him.

he`s scary for a round or so....not only does he tire, but he seems to discourage when things don`t go his way early....

wedum`s not the most exciting guy...but,he`s still a pretty tough out for most in the heavyweight division...he has decent balance in his style....he`s a little better on his feet than he used to be....

he could be a problem for some guys down the road...

even though i had a decent chunk on penn,i felt a pang of sympathy for stevenson...the guy fought his way up through the ranks....i have some old tape of him in the "kotc" shows back about 4 or 5 years ago....

that cut was insane...i have no doubt that cut hit a vein...i know scalp cuts bleed, but when it first happend,it was spurting blood...you could see the blood spurt as he sat down at the end of the 1st round....

he lost ALOT of blood...

Bucks i will never bet a guy like Lambert again if he is in with a boxer. With babalou the styles are a lot more of the same with both guys wanting to box but realisticly they are average boxers.. when these wrestlers (hard heads) want to stand with a boxer they usually get knocked out. the list is long. I think this will be what catches GSP. Is this Davis kid in his division? Cause if he is he will give GSP more trouble than a guy like HUghes. Hughes he cracked me up last fight. A world class wrestler with limited boxing skills turning southpaul:shrug: . Was he kidding me? Its obvious that GSP will wreck anyone who wants to wrestle him. Lets see him fight a guy who likes to swing. Kinda like the way Serra beat him.

Yes, Davis is in the WW division. I noted maybe a month or so ago that I thought Davis is the next guy to challenge GSP. If you watch him, he looks like he's got the package and skills. He could be a Randy Couture type guy. Meaning, he peaks late in his career.

I'm disapointed in Lambert, just as you are. That punch folded him up.

LOL, I agree 100%.

Watch that fight again, and when Gonzaga folds up, it looks like, "Hey, I'm done, finish me, just don't hurt me plz."

Then when Stevenson got cut, you could see the blood splatter onto BJ.
