"the bunker"
Starnes had his balls tucked into his ass for the entire fight. That guy is a disgrace.

not sure just how to quantify just how disgraceful starnes` performance was?.......not sure i`ve ever seen that in an mma fight.....

he looked like he was scared to death.....he`ll have a tough time living that performance down...and i doubt you`ll ever see him in the ufc again, short of some fantastic unknown physical malady that hasn`t yet made itself known...

and in the 'almost as disgraceful as starnes' category was lutter`s cardio.....he was utterly unprepared to go 3 rounds.........

he was done after he failed to finish that armbar...it was disgraceful that very early in the 2nd round he couldn`t even hold his hands up...it was target practice....

how can you follow up not making weight with being totally out of shape?...

on the flip side, bisping outclassed mccarthy....no contest...and gsp was a beast....serra hit the lottery in the first fight....

i hope they don`t force serra to go through that wringer again...cause it will be another one sided beatdown...

the bocek fight should have been stopped...the rest they gave him did nothing more than to let him get just fresh enough to take more punishment.....bad decision...he looked to possibly have serious facial damage...maybe a concussion....

i know that crew is roasting starnes and probably lutter,too....

i can just picture kickserv, weepaul and 1837 running around montreal, keening, drooling and foaming at the mouth........

congrats to canada.... :142smilie

now for my thoughts........

First off yet again the prelims were better then the main card....some of the prelim fights were amazing! And for those that bet on Doerksen......tough to say but some guys ringside (I spoke with one of em) swear MacDonald tapped, I watched it and it was tough to see (angle) but it did look like MacDonald tapped and Doerksen should have won:scared Also, as I said Day is no joke...he looked great man...just great. Goulet had a nice knockout after barely surviving round 1. Maia blew through Herman enough said. I may be biased but I thought Stout should have won, but I could see how 2 judges gave it to Clementi, but as I said I would have given two rounds to Stout...good fight though:SIB

Now for the main card.........

What in the love of fu** happened to Starnes:shrug: He has fought in the UFC many times and is always the aggressor, likes to bang it out, ya know that sort of thing. Then he fight in front of home crowd and does that:scared Something had to have happened:shrug: I mean it is like he was possessed by some alien:shrug: I could not believe what I saw. He'll be back in the UFC, I guess everyone should get at least one "do-over" but that performance was just plain weird! Bisping looked good at his new weight. Now to Lutter.....he's done fighting in MMA, I mean if that wasn't a "time to move on to new things" fight then I don't know what is! I didn't know my Franklin pick would be so easy....last one round and your wager is a winner is what the odds should have said:142smilie.....disgraceful just disgraceful by Lutter. Ummmm Bocek......can't say he has a glass jaw...wow:scared

Franklin almost didn't get into the octagon, anybody see the fan tacle him, he was joking about it at the press conference. I am shocked nobody has got hurt walking into the octagon....it is bound to happen. And finally huge kudos to Serra, I have to hand it to em....gutsy taking that fight in Montreal, have to admire him for that. Classy........I hope he detroys that prick Hughes!

GSP....pure class baby...pure class.

GSP....pure class baby...pure class.

true dat...hard not to root for the guy....

i do have a problem with his "run around the octagon" when he first enters the cage......he sort of runs on his tippy toes....it looks a little........(....:s8: ......shush).....

other than that,the man`s a prince:yup

Oh man!!! Just came back guys!!!! :00hour :0corn Awsome the performance by GSP!!!!

As most of you saw... Starnes was like a pussy... The guy next to me was from his hometown and he was so ashamed....:scared Man... he was really like a guy scare to death facing Quary.... The only reason we could come up was... is he injured??? It didnt make sense at all.... Anyway, i was close enough to see Dana pretty mad about Starnes... Think it's over for him...

Goulet fight (wich taped fight have you seen by the way on ppv?) was impressive as most of the undercard. I agree with some of you saying the undercard was better than what you saw on ppv. Ended with a +4.5 units so pretty happy on that side (Thanks to Day and GSP inside distance!) anyway... time to take some rest! :SIB

yea, the Goulet fight was the taped fight they showed on PPV... Goulet looked solid. wish they squeezed in Stout/Clementi as well.. sounded like a close one.

Well I just got back from Toronto airport and what a weekend!!!

I was in the nose bleed sections for the weigh ins. You could not hear a word Serra was trying to say due to the Boo's.

I walked from my Hotel to the Bell centre and on the way, ran into Heth Herring with no one else around. I told him I had won money on him a few weeks ago. He was a real nice guy.

I seen Matt Hammil outside a sports store and Gray Maynard across the street from the Bell centre. Not many people knew who Maynard was.

The fights and the atmosphere were insane.

Bocek should give Starnes a loan of his balls for the next event (although I don't forsee UFC in Kalib's future). Starnes had the cheek to act like he wanted to fight after the fight was finished when Nate tried to shake his hand and Starnes told him to **** off. His Rocky speech was classic as the crowd were booing the shit out of him until Kalib started the 100 meter sprint job.

Herman is a tough cookie. As he was drifting off to sleep due to the triangle, Damian was lighting him up with some nasty punches and he did not tap.

Doomsday impressed the shit out of me.

Bisping is very fast at 185 but Silva would smoke him.

MacDonald and Doerkson was a ground Clinic. Joe should have been finished by the choke in the first minute and then Jason should have been finished when Joe nearly tore his arm off in the Kimura. I am sure Jason tapped, not once but twice on Joe's arse. It looked like a sure tap out from were I was sitting. I think Jason ruined a good fight by hitting Joe twice when the fight had been stopped and Joe was already out and then stood over him shouting. I lost a lot of respect for him and can't wait until he gets the shit beat out of him. I can't believe Starnes has beaten Jason rather easily.

I give Franklin major props for getting out of that arm bar. The guy is all class. He was trying to get the crowd to cheer for Lutter during the intro's without much success :mj07: .

GSP is a machine that you DO NOT want to piss off. He and Serra are all class and I was glad when the crowd finally gave Serra a cheer at the end off the night.

I witnessed 4 fights break out in one section. Twice, they were caused by girls. Security do not piss around when throwing troublemakers out including the girls.

Heading back to my hotel, I passed by a teenager on a gurney, getting put into an ambulance. He was obviously very drunk and heading to get his stomache pumped. The paramedic made me piss myself laughing when he said "another victim of GSP".

I thank God that GSP won as, if he had been beaten along with the Montreal Canadians, I think Montreal would have been burned to the ground :scared .

Good Times!!! Now if we could only bring this shit to the Skydome.

good stuff weepaul and 1837...sounded like a great time.....and GSP and Anderson are so far and above everyone else it could actually be a problem for the UFC......GSP and Anderson could hold the belts until they are 80:142smilie

(some people actually think Fedor is best pound for pound fighter...now that's funny!)

and dawg....keep your avatar...not a fair wager GSP was a massive fav, I had a 100% guarantee that I'd win so wasn't really fair:SIB

(but hey having a GSP avatar for a week will make ya feel more like a man I have him as my poker avatar online and it makes everyone at the table fold pocket aces..LOL)

and I was right....just found out that Starnes was in fact possesed by an alien...so that explains it:mj07:

Bispin continues to look great. He is a solid fighter and would have a legitimate shot of beating Silva. Not saying that he would win, but I think people are reluctant to his ability. At 185, he is very dangerous.

I really liked how he was moving in that fight. Like a skilled boxer, imo.

Bisping sucks. He fought a complete tool.

Bispings striking needs sured up, because it was wild. He could've easily been KO'd by a striker who attempted to fight.

After saying all that, I will say I was impressed with his endurance and how he brought it. I just want to see him face somebody worthy.

no question Bisping looked good at 185, but we'll see how he does in next fight........and if you want a name of someone that could give Anderson a tussle....he's a Canadian and his name is Denis Kang.....he'd give Anderson a good fight:SIB Sadly he's not in the UFC:nono:
