Gurgel= One of the most boring fighters in MMA History.
Cole Miller= One of the ugliest fighters in MMA History.

Tell me they are not showing this fight.

The Miller brother that people should watch out for is Micah Miller........... hes got skill. Cole has good subs, but ive seen him fold under pressure.... wimp.

Not sure where to post this since I have a little of everything in this parlay, but it starts here with UFC 86 so I guess this is the best place for it:
Bet at 5dimes parlay:
Q Jackson
Koscheck
Griffin
Anderson Silva
Vera
Fedor
Aleksander
200 wins 821

Anyone see any of those guys going down??

Not really......... just knowing how huge it would be for Irvin to beat Silva (and their similarities style-wise plus weight gain for Silva) makes the inclusion of Silva slightly risky, but u definitely picked the favorites.. I think Forrest will be more competitive than most people think.. also Buentello.. but if i were just picking winners i got no problem w/ those picks. A worthwhile parlay from my perspective.

IMO - the riskiest fights are Griffin, Aleks, Fedor and Kos (in that order). Now they should all win BUT if any guys lose I see one of the above mentioned.

This is just MY opinion. Good luck bro

My theory in the parlay is you can't get paid without a high risk on all these fights. I might as well rely on them all as opposed to just picking the right ones. Knowing my luck I would play 3 of them straight up and 1 would lose and I would lose same amount as this parlay.
Worried about Q a little which would suck to lose it on 1st night. Not worried about Kos at all.

What performance of Gurgel's did i miss that makes so many guys on this forum think he is a complete scrub?

I think the Gurgel/Miller fight is a coinflip.. If anything, it has been Miller who has choked in a couple fights that i've seen. I think both r pretty solid MMA fighters.

Be careful here Raw the last time Weasel and Kick got me on the Gurgel sucks ban wagon he ran right thru his opponent :mj07:

adding some action.....so we look like this:

MMA Record (since UFC 58)
---------------------------------------------

Prop Bet 18-8
Fighter vs. Fighter 71-82
Parlays 39-47

+83.46 Joe Rogans

Patrick Cote beat Ricardo Almeida $2.00 *3 Joe Rogans

Cole Miller beat Jorge Gurgel $1.77 *2.5 Joe Rogans

Justin Mccully beat Gabriel Gonzaga $5.55 *1 Joe Rogan

How do ya not take Justin at such huge odds, I mean come on:shocked:

And I know Sponge is still bitter, but anytime I see Gurgel fight (if you want to call what he does fighting!) I bet against him. Does it work every single time.....no, but no way I'd ever bet on him I can tell ya that. Kind of the same concept of betting against the former Pride guys......Does every former Pride fighter lose? No, but most of them were proven to not be as good as they thought they were. And yes I know you'll be yelling at me if Gurgel wins, but hey I can take it :00x8

Also......I think Forest will give Rampage fits, I am not sure if Forest will pull off the upset, but for those that think Rampage is going to kill em....think again:SIB

Nah im just breaking balls. I think he sucks too. By the way that Gurgel pick the two of you gave me wiped out my Cris account. I had 4 dollars left in it and bet it all on his opponent who i can't even remember. If i would have won that bet i wouldnt be getting these five calls a day from bet Cris:nono:

for the 29th time...i never picked gurgel in that fight...

i don`t like the guy...but i`m not playing against him vs just anybody....

he belongs on lower level cards..that`s all...he`s not a contender...not even close....

he`s to rich franklin what igor was to dr frankenstein(without the hump)......here`s one of the pictures on his fightfinder profile...

25915_sm.jpg

who`s he beaten?...he lost to robinson/hominick and imanari....he`s beaten no one...

that said, cole miller`s no world beater...i think he borrows gumby horn`s personal trainer...

it`s a toss-up...but i think miller`s a tad better...

if this guy`s so good..why hasn`t he fought/and or beaten someone of note?....if he`s for real, let`s see it...stick him in with nate diaz/florian/guida/stevenson/ tyson griffin....

it ain`t happenin` `cause somebody at the ufc has a crush on the gurgler...

they put him in with robinson and that didn`t go well...

he`s on the periphery,imo...i`m just not impressed...

Ohio but not a Buckeye
Been a busy week for me, hard to keep up with you guys! haha

Anyways, alot of interesting fights on this card.

My picks are as followed:

-Quinton Jackson vs. Forrest Griffin
Jackson via KO/TKO round 1
(I'm holding Quinton to his gurantee)

-Josh Koscheck vs. Chris Lytle
Koscheck via unanimous decision
(This fight has the potential to be very boring)

-Joe Stevenson vs. Gleison Tibau
Stevenson via Submission, Rd2
(I think this has a chance to be fight of the night)

-Tyson Griffin vs. Marcus Aurelio
Griffin via unanimous decision
(Another potentially very boring fight, depends on the transitions on the ground)

-Patrick Cote vs. Ricardo Almeida
Cote via KO/TKO round 2
(This is the fight to watch out for. It has the potential to be up there with the fight of the night with Stevensons fight with Tibau. Also this one is a tough as hell fight to predict. I'm not high on Cote, but the dude is winning. I'm not sold on Almeida either.)

-Justin Buchholz vs. Corey Hill
Hill via KO/TKO round 1

-Melvin Guillard vs. Dennis Siver
Guillard via unanimous decision...almost want to give him the KO/TKO, but I'm not sure if his head is right yet.

-Cole Miller vs. Jorge Gurgel
Gurgel via split decision...I just think experience pays off for Gurgel in this one(as in training). This fight is gonna be fought on the ground and someone just might get submitted.

-Justin McCully vs. Gabriel Gonzaga
Gonzaga via split decision...Gonzaga isn't as good on his feat as he thinks he is. He needs to simply just get McCully on the ground and submit him.

weigh in video for anybody that may not have seen it(with the holiday and all)...

tibau looked a good deal bigger than stevenson...

i thought Marcus Aurelio even looked bigger up against Tyson G. Rampage looked a tad small against Forrest but Forrest had sneaks on. Still he had about 4 inches on him. Corey Hill needs to fight at 170 before he dies of malnutrition. This isn't that bad of a cadr. Could be better but its okay. Im interested in seeing the Gonzaga fight does anyone have the list of the ones they are gonna show? This McCully is always calling out Kimbo. Lets see how he handles Gonzaga

These are my bets-

Gurgel to beat Miller (Medium). Miller wins most of his fights on the ground but he is trained by one of Gurgel's students. Gurgel SHOULD be better on the ground as he is a couple of belt levels above Miller in BJJ.

Aurelio to beat Griffin (Medium). Aurelio is a good wrestler as well as being great at BJJ. I think this fight depends on Aurelio being able to control Tyson or Tyson winning the scrambles. Aurilio looks much bigger than Tyson. The odds are too good to pass up.

Tibau to beat Stevenson (Medium). Tibau is the biggest 155 pounder I have ever seen. He dwarfed Tyson and gave him a real close fight. He is the only guy I have ever seen give Nick Diaz trouble on the ground and that was at 169.

Bucholz to beat Hill (Medium). I don't know much about Bucholz but if he is one of Fabers main sparring partners then he is worth a shot against someone new like Hill.

Forrest to beat Rampage (Large). Forrest can give anyone trouble and Rampage does not look in good shape to me.

Almeida to beat Cote (Astronomical). I place one bet like this once or twice a year. I was a huge fan of Almeida before he retired and think he is still young enough to compete with the elite. Cote is not a go for broke puncher like Silva. He is methodical with his punches and I believe Almeida will take him down while he is being methodical and he will be a fish out of water when it hits the ground.

Good luck all!!!
