i give gsp all the credit in the world, he certainly took care of fitch. fitch has some heart, thats one tough dude.

however, once again, will the ufc let gsp fight someone with any striking skills at all?

just anyone, please. look at his last 3 fights alone, wrestler-wrestler-wrestler.

i didn't have much hope in fitch, i was merely hoping he'd win to silence the nutthuggers. now i can only hope BJ or Alves will do it.

Wrestlers happen to be the best guys at 170. Give GSP some credit. Hell, he outwrestled all of the wrestlers he has gone against. I do agree that he hasn't fought a lot of good strikers but let's be honest about something. Unless that striker has OUTSTANDING takedown defense GSP isn't going to stand with them anyways. Alves is a dangerous ****er, I kept telling a lot of people before he fought Hughes. Still GSP would take him down and pound him.

Fitch is who i thought he was until people started putting doubts in my mind. Take away his chin he would be average at best. His wrestling isn't even that good because he is slow and his standup is average. You give him a normal jaw he would have ten losses. Gsp handled a quick young wrestler like Koscheck why wouldn't he handle a slower one with less credentials? Lesnar showed just how poor the heavyweight division is. Huerta was what i thought he was last fight. Another guy who is just an average fighter. Im sorry fellas but some of these fighters are just not that good and in about 15 years we will see real fighters. The sport is just still to new. LOved Manny G game plan. Thankgod he has the problem shoulder or i might have bet something on him. God i would love to see Fedor kick the living shit out of Lesnar. Such a cocky prick. That wasn't WWE acting after the fight that is Brock being the cocky Brock. I was bored tonight and am losing my interest in this sport. Need more Dan Henderson Vandy Silva type of fighters. You can't keep bunching all these wrestlers on one card. :bed: Kick move your fat ass over cause im jumping on board the GSP bandwagon. I was on it in the beginning of the week but these haters pulled me off of it a little. Their was better fights on Big brother after dark then there was tonight..

Now if Bucs still doesn't think GSP and Anderson are the top 2 pound for pound fighters in MMA then I give up. Penn will get beat again, nobody is going to beat Anderson and GSP, nobody. GSP is incredible, he adapts to whomever he is fighting and just goes out there and beats em. Plus the guy is 100% class, great for the sport.

Bottom line....you want to see the best in MMA...just watch GSP do his thing....it is sick how incredible he is.

Lesner has a future....but anyone with submission skills will beat him, Mir easily beat him, and if Mir fought him next week he'd beat him again. But with that being said, Lesner has a good future, we shall see who he fights next.

Florian....guy is damn good......nice job madjackers with the big bets...cha ching!

#1-Anderson and Fedor are above GSP, I'm sorry. Get over it, and deal with that.

#2-Lesnar admitted that he was too anxious and excited his first fight. I honestly think Brock has the talent to beat anyone in the HW division, ALREADY. I don't think Mir wins if they fight again.

and finally, i can only hope that GSP fights someone with a legit standup game. ANYONE, I don't even care if their ground game sucks. The welterweight division is so retarded. Basically wrestlers who don't have the balls to stand and strike.

Ah here we go. One of the biggest mistakes in betting sports is cannonizing a team or athlete after one performance. Now Brock is the next Fedor:mj07: This division is so poor that a guy like him could succeed in it. Cmon guys he basically laid on Heath for 14 minutes and if this was anyone else they would have stood the fight up about five times. Not sure he attempted one submission attempt in the 14 minutes he laid on Herring. Put the cocky fuker in there against Gonzaga the head case next and see if someone can get Gonzaga to get in shape and not quit and then we will see what brock is all about. Is it impressive what he did? Yes. But i can find fifty Heath Herrings on bar stools all across America. Won't find one Fedor.

and lets face it...herring isn`t exactly a submission machine...he`s a plugger.... a "punishment absorber".....

the ufc looked very carefully for the right opponent to make lesnar look like a monster...

kongo should have been thoroughly embarrassed by his loss to herring...

don`t get me wrong...lesnar is so big, that he`s gonna be difficult for most anybody....but,crazy horse was in there for a reason...

i still can't believe the way Manny fought. Where did he get this game plan from Sean Sherk? Just stunning to see him do something this idiotic. Im sitting next to my buddy and after his first swing i say to my buddy "what in the world is he doing" also couldn't believe how fast he recovered after the second shot. Was like he was out for a second and a half and woke right back up.

I figure Manny was throwing those sloppy strikes to set up a takedown. The problem of course was he got smashed before he even got to attempt 1. :mj07:

Fedor is above GSP for sure. Anderson Silva is pretty debateable if you ask me. GSP has better wins than Silva but a bad loss to Silva. Then again Silva lost to Ryo Chonan which is pretty embarrasing for a guy of his status. Anyways, GSP gets to fight Penn next so you will get to see what you want. Pierre won't strike with Penn though. He will take him down and try to grind out a decision. Nothing wrong with that, it's smart fighting.

Pretty much the same comments I made during the fight and Bucs wondered why I was hating.

No hate, just got tired of the announcers acting like he was incredible. WHY DIDN'T HE FINISH A BATTERED,BRUISED,AND TIRED HERRING??

SIMPLE BECAUSE HE CAN'T!!

Mir would submit him again based on what I saw last night. Brock is way to exposed and sloppy on the ground.

Wow, what I night.

First, Maia is as good with bjj in an mma arena as I've every seen. Slick should be his nick name.

Bucs, GSP isn't losing to any striker in his class or below. Anyone that has great striking isn't strong enough to avoid his takedown. He really has a game that isn't beatable except for a fluke here or there. He'll beat Penn and then I really think it's time for him to step up in class. I don't think he can beat the top guys in the ** division but there will be some good fights.

I thought it was a great night of fights. I love seeing guys take big hits and keep coming back. I felt bad for Fitch, after a round or two he knew in his heart he wasn't better but he wasn't going to give up.

i agree with this Lay. I thought the same thing last night. Only one who has a legitimate chance is Swick in my opinion.

Honestly, if you think Brock laid on Heath Herring for 14 minutes, then it's not worth arguing with yah.

I don't think Brock ever really attempted to finish Herring.

However, what about GSP, he COULDN'T finish Fitch....does that take away from the fight? NO

Because he can't.:mj07:

He did land a huge punch to start and that was impressive. I just don't think Brock has ANY skills to submit anyone.

Enough Brock talk until the next time the circus is in town.

What did he do Bucks throw five punches and two knees in between? Already you have him beating everyone.:mj07: Do you think you are over evaluating his talent a little? You said this same crap about Sokoudjou and then a guy with skills named Machida just ran right over him. Can we see a little more of him before we think he is ten times better then Fedor?

Finishing a guy like Fitch and finishing a stiff like Herring are two different worlds.

I did? You find where I ever hyped Sokoudjou in that manner LOL.

If you do a little reasearch, you'd realize that I'm most certainly not a big fan of Sokoudjou. Wandy's wanted to kick his ass for some time now.

All I said previously was that he KO'd 2 guys that were legit fighters and were known for having solid chins.

What the hell did GSP do on the ground then? I mean seriously, if you think Brock layed on Herring, then you're just looking blind. If anyone does anything on the ground by your standards, then the fight should/would be stopped.

Ask Heath Herring if he enjoyed his stay on the ground. Brock landed alot of punches, and alot of knees. He did alot of work. At no point in that fight did I say, "c'mon lets get this on the feet." I'm a Wandy fan obviously, and if anyone wants to see fights on the feet it's me.
