I didn't see one but if there's already a 92 thread then I will move my post.

Couture +106 2units

I'll give reasons later when I have time but I think Randy will submit him(yes I know Randy doesn't submit anyone but I have my reasons)

Waiting on Maia line to come out, if it's good I'll be all over him. I can't wait to see him fight again.

i backed out of a play on Florian.. just think Stevenson is a bad matchup for him... Joe a much stronger wrestler who can muscle Kenny down to the mat.. also, Joe usually the aggressor and has "crisper" strikes than Huerta...

I expect Kenny to win, just unwilling to lay the juice. Joe surely learned a thing or two about MMA from his loss to B.J.... kenny has a likely title shot on the line.. should make for a good fight. :SIB

oh and it is bullshit that CB Dollaway is on the PPV, but Lister vs. Okami is not.

An interesting matchup between contenders gets snubbed by a guy fresh off The Ultimate Fighter who lost to the same guy twice...

I ususally dont bet MMA, but I'm pretty confident that Lesnar will beat Couture...both have a wrestling style and Lesnar is just so much bigger (younger, and still improving)...Couture has never been a huge hitter and he doesnt submit anybody...

Amir Sadollah fight cancelled so now we get to see the better fight. I think Hazelett wins this one.

http://www.ufc.com/index.cfm?fa=news.detail&gid=15767

yep.. this is a blessing in disguise.. McCrory and Hazelett are two very talented up and comers and this fight has 'explosive' written all over it. Plus, Hazelett's jiu-jitsu is some of the best in the welter division and McCrory just attacks all his opponents like a spider monkey.

HERE THE UPDATED FIGHT CARD:

Main event:

265 lbs.: UFC Heavyweight Champion Randy Couture (16-8) vs. Brock Lesnar (2-1)

Main card (Televised):

155 lbs.: Kenny Florian (10-3) vs. Joe Stevenson (29-8)
170 lbs.: Dustin Hazelett (11-4) vs. Tamdan McCrory (9?1)

185 lbs.: Demian Maia (8-0) vs. Nate Quarry (10-2)

Under card (May not be broadcast):

155 lbs.: Jorge Gurgel (12-4) vs. Aaron Riley (26-10-1)
155 lbs.: Jeremy Stephens (13-3) vs. Rafael dos Anjos (11-2)
155 lbs.: Alvin Robinson (9?3) vs. Mark Bocek (5-2)
170 lbs.: Matt Brown (7-7) vs. Ryan Thomas (9-2)

It is a pretty poor card, but one hell of a main event. Passing of the torch, Lesnar -120:toast:

i usually wait to last minute to bet, but i already followed through on hazelett -164. i think that line will worsen, so i had to get on it.

GW, i backed off both the plays listed above.. part of the problem w/ Gurgel is he almost refuses to be a mixed martial artist. He is a BJJ black belt, but insists on standing b/c he 'thinks it's more exciting'. That isn't necessarily untrue for the average fan, but real MMA fans want to see all the skills a fighter has to offer... a guy who tries to WIN however it may be..

Gurgel started off his career 9-1, all 9 wins by submission.. as soon as he got to the UFC he wanted to turn into Chuck Liddell overnight, and he hasnt had much success with that.. all his wins (and 2 of 3 losses) have been decisions.... terrible gameplans are his biggest problem

I do think he has good MMA skills....In his last fight, against Cole Miller, he tried to change his ways and just tried to FINISH anyway/anyhow, but he ended up getting subbed in the last few seconds after dominating the rest of the fight. I think Gurgel is a better/tougher fighter than Riley, but Gurgel is stupid and not to be trusted.

MY PLAYS

MY PLAYS

-5.13 Ginas since 6/21/08......

2.3 Ginas on Lesnar...
at -115

Not much to say about this fight that isnt obvious, but im takin a shot. Everything about this fight says 'DONT TOUCH ME", but i have to follow my gut on this one.. if not, i know ill regret it.

1 Gina - Lesnar/Couture does not go 2:30 of round 3 at +200

2 Ginas on Nate Quarry at +190

Watched a great interview with Nate up on SpikeTV website, and he said everything i wanted to hear.. He's going to do everything in his power to stay off the ground, which is where Maia wants to be, of course. McDonald and Herman were just begging to get beat by Maia by hitting the mat with him... classic case of two idiots who willingly went to the ground with a WORLD CLASS BJJ guy.

Has been said that Maia is working very hard on his striking at Wanderlei's new gym, but Quarry will bust him up on the feet.

Thats it for me... GLA... :toast:

I like captain america inside. Couture is one of the smartest fighters around and he is doing this for along time. If Lesnar can not take Randy down easy he is gonna get hurt. Lesnar is not used to getting hit or kicked in the head.

And even on the ground Lesnar is far from unbeatable. Randy should exactly know what Lesnars weakest points are because he went through the same process over 10 years ago.

Thats my feeling against the experts, who i normally follow but in this case i stick with Randy.
