To beat Machida(from what I've seen), you have to be willing to exchange, and not be a counter puncher or a guy who's going to pick and pop, but go the whole way. I think the ground is where his kryptonite is honestly. Tito nearly, well...LOOKED like he had him in a very dangerous spot. Even Sokoudjou had him on the ground LOLOLOL

Come on, dude. His ground game is awesome and his sprawl is fantastic. You need to watch his old fights.

just watched barry give the fight to hague......good lord,so cocky.....

he should have crushed the guy...miller cost me the par anyway...

good night,though...two doggies bark and split the pars....

hope everyone did well.....

miller`s not all that good...sosynski`s a little better than i thought....hughes is basically a shell of his former self....

and machida`s a beautiful fighter to watch...as i watched that fight,i wasn`t bored in the least....you had the feeling that something dramatic would happen....

it`s amazing how much damage machida did vs a very quick opponent in so few exchanges....

the guy is scary...

I only catch about 30% of the big MMA fights but I saw this one. Machida is one cool customer. Evans looked ridiculous during the ring entrance and seemed to be burning nervous energy. Machida barely moved until the bell rang. He does seem like a special MMA guy. I will watch him again.

That's the thing Kramden
Machida is so COOL in there
Nothing shakes this dude
His FOCUS in unlike anyone else in MMA
at least that I have seen

The minute I saw Rashad dancing and flapping around during the ring entrance I thought:

1. He is nervous
2. He is burning a ton of energy
3. He's about to get crushed

:00hour :00hour I know we've been on this same page for a while. He is certainly not boring. :mj07:

Maybe after Lyoto defends/knocks out rampage and Silva kicks Forrest Griffin's ass, we can have those 2 tee it up? Machida vs. Silva?? :SIB

Rampage will get embarrassed. And, that is going to be bad for the UFC. I do think a Machida Griffin fight is the best thing for the LHW division, but i also see this becoming the next Middleweight division where there is a champ and everyone else.

Now that Machida showed some punching power, he's pretty much the complete package.

I really dont see a major flaw in him...and his record obviously speaks for himself.

His ring intelligence and versitality iis really unmatched.

As for P4P, I think Machida has shown more in the last 2 years or so than many of the other frontrunners for the P4P title.

yeah...he kicked the guy in the head and had him on queer street......his striking is very, very good...but he let the big lummox stumble into him and once they fell to the groiund,he was clueless...

if dana matches him with some other strikers,we`ll have some excellent stand-up battles...

Hey...easy now, easy Machida nuthuggers....ahead of GSP....come on...let's not get silly:142smilie

I like Machida and he's damn good, but he's still got a ways to go to be #1. In fact I'd put him #6:

1 .Georges St. Pierre
2. Anderson Silva
3. Fedor Emelianenko
4. Miguel Torres
5. Hatsu Hioki
6. Lyoto Machida

Yes pound for pound are all opinions, but we all know GSP is number one:142smilie (shocker).

But with that said, huge props to Machida, great performance, good to see Rashad lose, Rashad is always losing in his fights good to see him lose at the end of the fight. Not sure who's going beat Lyoto at light heavyweight:shrug: Rich Franklin?, hell I dunno:shrug:

Ok.....now, let us get what really is pissing off kickserv:

SEAN SHERK IS AN IDIOT He makes Melvin Manhoef look like Einstein for fucks sake. Sherk fought the dumbest fight in MMA history against Penn, and then does it again against Edgar. He finally tries a take-down in round 3. Nice job Sherk, you fucking dumb shit. What a fucking dumb fighter this over-rated moron is. Fuck you Sherk you dumb fuck.:chairshot

:canada1 go 2-0 nice, very nice:)

"Hi my name is Sean Sherk, I'll just stand there and punch". Yes I know I outweigh my opponent by 400 pounds, and am I beast, but I'll just stand there and jab for two rounds."! "Yeah that's what I'll do.":mj15:

You dumb fuck Sherk! Talk all you want about his training, perhaps some MENTAL TRAINING is in order. Big deal, he can lift a tractor tire with his tongue, who cares! :chairshot

Machida is #3 p4p after that destruction. That was top five KO I've seen. I agree he is not losing that belt until he decides to let it go. The difference between machida and the rest of MMA is that he truly honors being the champion. Being champion to him is similar to winning a gold medal or something. He has fought his whole life to be known as champion and I don't see him losing it. Ever! That being said, I'd really like to see rampage Evans fight. It kinda sucks spider won't fight machida. Guess this allows the GSP/spider fight to materialize now. Great fights tonight, lost some money but all worth it seeing Evans getting KTFO!

There's some crazy line at 5d for Serra by dec at +1250 and i gave it a bit of a dig; Serra might stun Hughes but fail to finish him; i see this as a 50/50 fight.
.

Man, i was was on a high after Serra won the first rd and Hughes didn't attempt any takedowns...

Machida impressed me big time; Evans had the right idea but not the energy and quickly burned out...

I will follow closely this MMA stuff now, seems fun and profitable...

Congrats to Kickserv for his doggie hits...

Update 2009 record 13-4 29.01 units

Last night 1-0 +2units

Machida should be fun to watch for a while. It's a shame that he and Anderson won't fight each other. I think Anderson has the reach and quickness it would take to beat Machida, not saying he would do it but I think it would be awesome to watch. Shoguns straight ahead style might be interesting to watch and we know he has a chin so he can take some shots trying to get close.

amen...nobody saw that coming...nobody picked edgar....cause nobody saw sherk`s previous fight with tyson griffin wherer he stood and exchanged for 3 rounds....

i don`t think one madjacker had the wisdom and forethought to pick frankie edgar....you would have had to be "nostradamus-like" to believe this 145 pounder had a chance vs this beast who`s only lost to penn, gsp and hughes in his prime....

i mean,if somebody had picked this runt to upset the great sean sherk, the guy would never have been able to post his pick anyway(i mean, you can`t type in a straight-jacket?).........

That was my first experience watching these fights on feeds. I can't even comment the feeds were so bad.

LOL, GW I meant to give you your props on Edgar. I know he's someone you like and it was a great pick. It's getting hard to take bets on or against these wrestlers who think they've become great boxers.(ie Sherk and Evans)

I'm anxious to see Machida fight Page. I think it will be a lot better fight than some might think. Give Shogun one more fight and I think he's the one that takes Machida out. Shogun will work to get in on Machida and take him down and should have the strength to do it. Once on the ground it should be Shogun's fight to win, I think Machida is good on the ground but he's not subbing Shogun.

Disclaimer-Shogun is my favorite fighter and this is for entertainment purposes only. :mj07:

the old shogun...the one with the pressing, varied offense might give machida some problems....

it looks like fighting a technical, measured fight vs machida is suicide...his mma i.q. is astounding...

and thanks for the props,brother...nice pick on machida...i was honestly on the fence...you guys that were sure about machida knew what you were looking at...

a new breed of mma fighter..

just watch the Machida/Evans fight again and it was stunning to see it was Machida who was the aggressor the whole entire fight. He looks like he is even better when he pushes the action. Those kicks set up everything. Rampage is in trouble. I wonder if Jacksons camp had any idea that Machida would push the action?

Kick i didn't see the Sherk fight. I think u are bullshitting. He fought the same fight like he fought Penn?:mj07: Why does he feel a need to fight guys who are better boxers at their game?

Can we finally say that Machida is the best MMA fighter in the world? NO WAY

Where are all the "Machida is boring" and "Machida is bad for the sport" guys? I am right here and this was an exciting fight but it doesn't change his past history of being boring.Maybe his confidence cranks up his aggressiveness from here on.

This mother effer WILL NOT LOSE in the next 3 years. Keep thinking that.

Credit where credit is due. He brought it last night.
