ps- How does a guy who looks like he just got crucified versus a guy who looks like he got sucker punched 1 time win?

This is yet another prime example why scoring/judging in MMA is terrible.

Diego got his ass WHOOPED

@ muhr Thanks for posting that man! I have to say that I think I understood that scoring better than I thought I did. I think that I don;t understand the nuances, but have a good grasp on the overall concept. Kampmann won that fight.

Still think that first round should have beeen Kampmann 10-8.

"3. A round is to be scored as a 10-8 Round when a contestant overwhelmingly dominates by striking or grappling in a round."

Diego got his ass kicked the entire round. He looked terrible. Oh well, it was still fun to watch even if the judgment was wrong. I think they need to do something about the judging if they want to attract fans, though. Crappy judging is one of the main reasons I stopped watching boxing. Maybe they can hire Watson to start judging the fights.

you watch combat sports with your line of sight over the jock line? or directly zoomed in on the male package

it's doesnt matter if the guy makes it the distance and his face looks like raw hamburger meat

(i think) you've seen fights where one dude is getting destroyed but comes back to win

remember carlos condit, he was getting owned by rory

should frank mir have lost the first brock fight b/c his face was pummelled more?

maybe bucs into "backdoor" submissions :mj07: kurby

That is about the most retarded argument I've ever seen. Guy gets KO'd or Sub'd but shouldn't win? How can I take you serious when that's your comparison?

Come with some better logic and thinking and maybe we can talk.

Guy stuffs 14 out of 15 takedowns, on top of the fact that the 1 takedown there was NOTHING done at all, and Kampmann was up within seconds. That should be rewarded BIG TIME, seeing as he's always gotta be alert and ready for the takedown.

Diego got his ass picked apart and handed to him. Other than landed 2 good shots in the 2nd round that wobbled Kampmann, wtf did he do? Kampmann landed more strikes in every round, except the final round I think was 19-19. Clearly the power shots were on Kampmanns side. He stuffed 14/15 takedowns. WTF more does he have to do in a decision?

My god, the dudes face looked like Martin had razor blades on the ends of one hand, and a brick on the end of the other.

First time round I scored the fight 29-28 Sanchez

So I just re-watched the fight with no alchol and no sound/ commentators

Round 1 was clearly Kampmann. The knee busted the mouth of Sanchez and dropped him with a right

Round 2. This gif does not show the left that caught Kampmann and cut him but this for me was a turning point in the fight. The cut clearly effected him

4.gif

Later in this round Kampmann got caught in this exchange and wisely backed out

5.gif

This for me was Sanchez's round

Round 3 I can't find the gif but the punch that broke Kampmann's right hand and caused HUGE damage to Sanche'z face was the biggest moment of that round. The takedown I don't count as no damage was done. Sanchez landed a nice right at 1:40 into the round and a left at around 2:34.

I originally scored this round to Sanchez though I now take it back. I give it to Kampmann or possibly a draw.

This was a great fight

One of the things that drives me nuts about this sport is when I hear people saying they'd be cool with a decision either way in the close fights.....or something to that effect. The scoring just plain sucks and believe it or not, these decisions (right or wrong) sculpt the MMA future. Upcoming match-ups are based on these results. I can't stand it. Let the judges use replay, give them monitors, whatever it takes. Give the judges a chance to score the fight as a whole to go along with round by round scoring. Do something. This is sickening.

This is the only thing that needs to be said.

You take 100 people who watched that fight and ask them to make a decision on the winner. At least 60 pick Kampmann. AT LEAST.

It was kind of like the Bisping/Hammil fight. I was watching it at the bar with a friend of mine who does watch MMA, but doesn't follow the ins and outs of it, and really doesn't know who is who. But we left after the fight was over and before the decision(we clearly thought Hammil had won and didn't need to hang around for the obvious) to try and beat traffic(downtown CBUS). We got back to his place and I said, "guess who won" He said "that deaf dude". I told him nope, the other guy...his response "That deaf dude kicked his ass, how the hell did he lose?"

ukgaz, your 2nd gif is the exact situation I was talking about. Diego didn't land crap in all of those punches he threw. Too many times the crowd gets going when a guy does that, the other fighter smartly covers up but gets scored against because "it looks" like the guy is getting beat up. The same exact thing happened in the Machida Shogun fight. I don't blame it on the judges because it is very hard to see but as a fan it's very frustrating.

I was at this fight live when I lived in the UK and I can tell you this. The fans wanted Bisping to win but everyone in the arena was shocked when he was declared the winner. This is clearly one of the top 3 worst decisions in MMA history
