So. Cal
I know why all of the bashers hate USC .Because they are gonna win more (maybe 2)NC's & at least 1 more Heisman before 2010 .

Enjoy it while you can. IMO USC won't lose another one this season.

Everyone get your bashing over with it & lets move on.

i have to fundamentally agree with you....since sc creates their own "national championships" they should win 2 more before 2010...

maybe the "trojan daily news #1 ranked team of 2006-2007" that would give you 4 straight titles right?????

:mj07:

Face it, SC is getting worse this year, not better.....they have a chance to win out but after watching their past 3 games vs uw-asu-osu do yu really think they are gonna run the table vs

cal
oregon
nd
bowl game
(stanford doesnt even count this weekend so dont tell me you're back if you win by 40+)

Turnovers will most likely decide USC's fate in their final 6 games.

On Sat. USC was -4 turnovers and forced ZERO turnovers and only lost by 2pts.

If USC O doesn't cough up the ball, USC most likely wins out. If USC D forces turnovers, USC will win out. USC has won 51 of 54 games because both the O and D have excelled in the turnover battle.

Pete Carroll has only lost 1 game coaching @USC when his team was + turnovers. That was way back in year 1 PC era against Utah.

No, turnovers are not part of the game. You can control/limit your turnovers. USC has managed to do exactly that and won 51/54 games. 2 of USC's 4 turnovers on Sat. were UNFORCED.

Accepting turnovers as part of the game is a losers mentality. I am sure PC will be correcting this sooner rather than later. Turnovers are not acceptable.

Last year USC might have won the BCS NC if they did not turn the ball over twice against Texas. 1 of USC's 2 turnovers was unforced. Only USC has themselves to blame for that.

Protect the ball on O, force turnovers on D = WINS! The key to USC's success.

Scott,

You just did it with that last post. You really showed how stupid you really are by saying that turnovers are not part of the game.

For Christ sakes the game is over, its Monday nite and you are still talking about fawkin turnovers for USC. Give it a break dude you are embarrasing yourself..

...........................................................

Got to disagree with you. A helmet to the football in a USC players hands resulting in a fumble is a turnover that no one can limit or control.

I dont care how many turnover Tuesdays PC holds.

I hear from the grapevine there is alot of second guessing about playing Booty over Sanchez.

Full Name: Mark Sanchez
Born: November 11, 1986
Hometown: Mission Viejo, CA
Height: 6-3
Weight: 225 lbs. Age: 19
Pos: QB
Class: Freshman

RAT 129.8 |

Word is that Sanchez is USC's next great.
.......................................................

Seriously for a minute. One of my big reasons for so much glee over a USC loss, is that ND game last year. You know the one you and your dad attended.

That play where Bush pushed Lienhart into the endzone without a penalty being called pushed me over the edge against USC.

USC had a great run but they were coddled by the refs at every turn .

Oh yeh and I lost a moneyline bet for about 4k because of that ND play, but thats water over the bridge.

I must admit though, when I heard USC lost to the Beavers, I nearly pissed my pants laughing so hard.

I disagree. I know for a fact USC does as well.

Accepting turnovers as part of the game is a losers mentality. It is NOT ok to turn the ball over and if you do turn it over, just accept it as part of the game. YOU CAN CONTROL/LIMIT your turnovers. Yes you can have tipped INT, hard tackle which results on fumble etc. $hit happens.

USC on defense lets every WR catch the ball in front of them, and instead of making the tackle, they strip him/hit him hard etc. That is a defense that is designed to force turnovers, not give up big plays, and let the offense make mistakes. On offense, PC refuses to use the shotgun because he feels it results in more turnovers. USC hardly throws the ball in the middle of the field because hard hits can result in fumbles or overthrowing the ball results in INT. Almost everything is to the sideline. USC runs a balanced offense which limits turnovers.

USC has not turned the ball over on offense and forced turnovers on defense every year under PC except this season. Maybe USC being so young on both sides of the ball, inexperienced, and ton of injury's has something to do with that. Next year USC returns everyone and you can count on USC being back at leading the country in turnover ratio.

I guess Pete Carroll is "stupid" because I agree with him and posting his philosophy. Although his defense sometimes frustrates me giving up so many plays underneath. But who can argue with his results!

First thing out of PC's mouth after the loss was....

"you cannot turn the ball over 4 times"

You couldn't be more specific on what I posted that makes you think I am an idiot? Expressing your opinion makes you an idiot?

As for the Bears being -4 turnovovers is not exactly the same as USC being -4 turnovers. Oregon St. had ZERO turnovers while Arizona Cardinals had 2 turnovers that resulted in 14pts for Bears. Bears defense scored 14pts!

USC was down 33-10 near the end of the 3q. USC lost my 2pts on a failed 2pt conversion! I was impressed!

Yea. What an ass kicking those silly Beavers put on Carrol's bunch. And the Beaves aren't even that good!!

Well that is the first regular season loss I said they would have. There will be one more at least.

how could you be impressed with a USC team giving up 33 pts to Oregon St? the 3rd highest ouput this year from them, only scored more on Idaho and Eastern Washington.......USC has been sliding downhill since the start of the season and will have atleast one more loss before seasons end

On September 28th, 1965, during a meaningless game at Forbes Field, I distinctly heard Curt Gowdy tell Tony Kubek that "Fouls balls are not okay, you should hit a home run every single time!"

When Tony snickered and starting humming the Notre Dame fight song, Gowdy grabbed a sturdy pepperoni stick and beat Kubek senseless about the skull for his faux pas.

It was a Ripleys.

USC should NOT have given up 30+ pts to Oregon ST. But if USC D held OSU to 14-23pts, that would have been solid effort.

Examine the game closer.

USC D did not give up 33pts. USC D gave up 26pts to the Oregon ST. offense. OSU scored 7pts off punt return.

Examine that closer, USC D gave up 26pts to OSU with USC offense turning the ball over 4 freaking times!!! All in all, that is solid! OSU prob. would have scored a lot more if they were playing a different defense. I think OSU started in USC territory EVERY time after each turnover.

Examine the opening drive closer.....

Oregon ST. opening drive they took it length of field and scored TD. But on that drive, USC had OSU on 3rd and 7 something and had QB Moore wrapped up for the sack. Moore "chucked" the ball on his way down being sacked and OSU got 1st down. Great plays both sides of the ball. You have to make those kinda plays to beat USC. Instead of OSU punting, they get 1st down and eventually score TD.

All in all, USC players only have themselves to blame for this loss. VERY SLOPPY! It was NOTHING Oregon St. did in this game. If you disect the game, USC lost the game vs Oregon ST. winning the game. No more proof than USC having 2 UNFORCED turnovers in addition to 2 other turnovers all giving OSU the ball inside their own territory. :nono:

Take away the 2 "unforced" turnovers, USC prob. wins the game by 10-20pts easily despite still turning it over twice. I am also willing to bet OSU prob. would tighten up without getting so many breaks and have turnovers themselves. Remember, OSU is a turnover machine! I give them credit for playing a clean game which results in 2pt win!

Exactly. They are a bad team and the Trojans couldn't handle them. This reminds me of all the posts I see of someone who lost a game they capped and claimed they "were still on the right side." If losing is the right side, they I'm playing by a different set of rules.

Four days after the fact the "in game" thread it still going strong. Pretty much sums it all up.
